Could not reach him...did not reply to my message

We purchased a new side by side refrigerator that was a couple of inches too tall to fit under the over head cabinet. Contacted Steve and he said he could cut down the cabinet too fit but we should wait until the refrigerator was delivered as they sometimes would fit even though the measurements said otherwise. He said just call him after delivery and he would be out that day or the next at the latest if we still needed the cabinet cut down. Refrigerator was delivered and was too tall. We called him and he did not return the call for 4 days by which time we had contacted someone else. His wife was the one that called to schedule him for the next day and I told her the cabinet had already been removed but we did need someone to hook up the ice maker. I asked if he provided that service, she said yes and told us he we be out the next day between 9 and 11 to hook up the ice maker. Never saw him or received a call. Very poor customer service, glad he did not come out as I would be concerned about what kind of job he would do.

Instead of buying a new door she needed he used a small door that was there. He made a tiny little compressor closet and made it into a full size closet. Instead of putting a new door he built an half door and built the other half where he removed where he removed the platform of the compressor. It looks very funky. My mother had enough of him and said goodbye.

I decided to use him because of Angie's List. He took great care. He is a bit expensive, but he did a good job.

After the above job was done, he was to return to do some other work. Never showed. He finally contacted us and asked if he could come in October, that was in 2009. I still have not heard from him. He must be very good and is too busy to get to all of his customers.

He is really good. My electrical outlet had blown up and he came out and repaired the outlet. He also repainted it. He also changed all the locks in the house. I am very happy with him. He and his team were really good. They came out on time and they called before they came out. They told me how much it was going to cost. They stayed on the budget. The project cost me $175, which was very reasonable. I will use them again in the future.

it went well, steve was courteous and polite..got right to work and wasn't distracted. i will use him again

He was very polite and knowledgeable. He showed me everything; what he was going to do and how much it was going to cost. When he was going to leave I asked if he did sprinklers. He said that he did, so I showed him that one of the sprinklers was going over the car. He looked at it and told me that the sprinkler was missing. I said that I did not know where to get a new sprinkler I gave him permission to look around the garage for the extra gardening and sprinkler stuff. Within five minutes he had found the sprinkler, put it one and asked if I wanted him to come back out and look the rest of them over. I will continue using them in the future.

Estimate only. He came over and walked through and explained what he (or we) could do about each item. He was unsure of one of the tasks (whole house surge protector) and did not give us much confidence that he knew how to handle it. He also suggested an overkill approach to installing a chandelier for us. He said he would get back an estimate to us soon but it took him over a week and it was high. By that time we had already contracted out the work to someone else and it was completed.

I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Stephen Giboney is a perfectionist. He's reliable and he's much more than a handyman. He and his staff can do the simple easy repairs and when you need something unusual or difficult done, he will creatively produce a solution. He loves a challenge. He makes sure that when he leaves, your home is even cleaner and neater than when he arrived. He never leaves a mess. I've been using him for years and feel so lucky to have found him on Angie's List.

Consulted Angie's List to find a reputable carpenter/woodworker to make and install a custom cabinet for my home theater equipment (big screen TV, etc.). Called Steve's office and spoke to his assistant, who was very pleasant. We set a time for Steve to come to my home to begin the process of preparing a proposal. Steve was punctual, pleasant, and professional. However, I was surprised and disappointed to learn that he does not make media cabinetry; he refers such projects to a carpenter. He suggested that I buy a generic, retail, media stand and then he could build and install a shelf above it for storing books and knickknacks. He offered to point out some media stands on the Internet, so off to my computer we went. Another option, he said, was for him to build a shelf in a nearby closet for storing the cable box, etc., which could be operated by using a universal remote control device. Neither of the two options appealed to me. Since Steve is a handyman, I decided to ask for an estimate on fixing an indoor wall that was improperly constructed: the drywall seam was visible and plaster had cracked. He stated that a good housepainter would be able to fix the problem before beginning to paint. He faxed estimates for repairing the wall and for building a closet shelf, about a week later. The wall repair estimate (about $600) was higher than I anticipated. Perhaps such work would be less expensive if done in conjuction with painting. I would consider calling Steve in the future regarding true handyman tasks.

Steve is the consummate professional. He's prompt at returning calls, shows up when scheduled, works efficiently and neatly and is polite, respectful and cooperative. He also treats his assistants well. His pricing was very fair and he can tackle almost anything. I wanted a specific iron leg for a corner of a counter and not being able to find what I wanted, I ordered parts on line and Steve personally welded everything together and it turned out perfect! He's a delight to work with and an easy-going perfectionist (never knew they existed!) I had NO complaints - and I tend to be picky!

Steve was terrific. Easy to talk to, & willing to discuss all aspects of the work. Everything was left neat & clean everyday. I would hire him again in a minute. I might have thought his price was a little high, but I was very satisfied with all the work.

STEVE DOES EXCELLENT WORK, BUT CAN BE A LITTLE SLOW IN RETURNING PHONE CALLS TO BOOK TIME. HE USES A VERY PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM TO PUT A VALUE ON HIS PRICING.

STEVE HAS BEEN WORKING FOR US FOR YEARS. HE IS PROFESSIONAL AND TRUSTWORTHY. HE IS EXPERIENCED IN ALMOST EVERY TYPE OF HOUSEHOLD REPAIR. HE COULD BUILD A HOUSE FROM SCRATCH.

THE HANDYMAN IS AN ARTIST. HE WORKS DELIBERATELY BUT VERY EFFICIENTLY, RESTORES SITES TO BETTER THEM WHEN HE ARRIVE--AND PRICES ARE VERY REASONABLE. HE PERSONALLY SUPERVISES EVERY JOB AND HAS A GOOD CREW. HE REALLY EXPLAINS AND DEFINES ALL THE WORK HE DOES. HE IS CLEAN, NEAT, VERY FRIENDLY AND CONGENIAL.
