With the latest downpour, we started having water come in through the vent in our living room. We had the entire roof replaced within the last year, so I assumed that couldn't be the problem. Thinking there may be a problem with the seals on the ducting (which is exposed to the elements since the living room was an addition to the original house with no attic above it), I contacted Aladdin mostly because of the plethora of good reviews here on Angie's List. I'm really glad I did. The Service Technician they sent (Jesse Porter) was incredibly knowledgeable and, without even climbing onto the roof, pointed out three separate things wrong with the way the HVAC unit was re-installed after the roof was put on the house just by looking at it from the backyard. He suggested that, before he touch anything, I call the general contractor who's company replaced the roof and have them come out to check for leaks since everything should be under warranty with them. *After* that company comes out and either fixes the problem or claims nothing wrong with it, *then* Jesse will come back out to correct other problems I described to him about the unit. The fact that he (and by extension, Aladdin) wanted to steer me in the direction that would cost me the least amount of money, even if they could have done the work and charged me for it speaks volumes about their honesty and customer service. By the way... the $327 listed above on how much I spent is based on a service agreement I chose to sign up for so they could come out after everything and regularly take care of the health of the unit. If I could select "not yet" as an answer to the question: "Did the company/individual perform services?", I would. Didn't want anyone thinking I paid that amount for the consultation.

Aladdin had an initial misstep in getting back my estimate in a reasonable amount of time but after noting their mistake they immediately called me back and apologized for their delay. Within 24 hours of realizing they had made the mistake they had a very detailed quote put together for 4 different options of replacing the system. We appreciated the thoroughness and thought put into the quote as the heating/ac situation in our house is a rather challenging situation. Compared to the other quotes we received the attention to detail is quite dramatic. In addition the president of the company followed through with a phone call and explained what pitfalls to avoid even if we don't go them as a service provider. The suggestions were very pragmatic and truly will be helpful for us. It was obvious they know their trade and believe in a quality long term solution. And just as a sidenote they refunded the initial $79 service call as an act of good faith for the initial misstep.

I called Alladin and they were EXTREMELY professional and helpful over the phone and got me an appointment for the next day. The technician, Wayne Andrews showed up on time and started trying to determine the cause of the problem. I was extremely shocked when his analysis was that "nothing was broken or needed replacing".. It was cold outside and inside and he could have easily tried to scam a woman. He simply stated he felt the unit needed to be serviced and I authorized the servicing. Everything works like a charm now. I was so impressed by him that I happily purchased a service contract for the year for both my heating and a/c units.

I was calling around for an HVAC repair person on a Tuesday night at 8:30 pm, and reached someone in the Aladdin office. They scheduled Jesse to come to my house between 10 - 2 the next day. Jesse called about an hour before he arrived, took a look at the unit (housed on the roof), and diagnosed the problem. He gave me the estimate and scheduled a return appt the next to fix the issue. However, while we were talking, he noticed my 10-month-old daughter inside the house. Upon seeing her, he called the office to see if they happened to have the right parts available right away. He then agreed to go about 30 miles out of his way after his next job to come back and fix our unit that night. Unfortunately, it didn't work that night, as our unit was old enough that standard replacement parts wouldn't work without some adaptation that couldn't be done that night. Jesse came back the next day and fixed the furnace - and we had heat during a record cold spell in Los Angeles. Jesse was outstanding to work with, and the fact that he went out of his way to try to fix the furnace the first night was one of the best examples of customer service I can think of ever receiving.

We received bids from 3 local companies. Of the 3 companies, we felt that Aladdin gave us the best option for our requirements. Their Sales Manager, Rocky Rocco, was not only very knowledgeable but was very professional in his sales approach. Rather than pushing for more than we really needed, he developed an estimate that not only met our requirements but was cost effective. The work which was performed in mid December took 2 days to complete. The installation crew (Jaime, Cheno, Jose & Miguel) showed up on time, did an excellent job, and cleaned up each day before leaving. The installation went very smooth and there were no collateral issues. The installed system was also professional tested against manufacturer specs. This effort also included a 1 year service contract that provides 2 visits to check on the system operation and replace the high efficiency filter. We have had the system for approx 1 month and it is operating as advertised. Overall we very pleased with this purchase and would recommend Aladdin to anyone who is considering Furnace and/or A/C replacement or repair.

The sales person, Rocky, was knowledgeable, and very helpful in helping me selecting the right product, without pushing for more than what I needed. Work started shortly after signing the contract. The install crew showed up on time, and did a superb, professional job. They tested the installation, measured all parameters, made sure they matched the manufacturer's specs, and left the work area clean.

In the process of purchasing a property and some red flags came up about the heating system. Aladdin (Jesse) came out to do an initial inspection and found that the furnace was extremely old and was in fact dangerous. The house had vaulted ceilings and therefore there was no access to the air ducts behind the walls. We were not able to tell how they were laid out throughout the house or what they were made of. When another employee, Rocky, came out for an estimate he was not only able to figure out where the ducts were and the entire layout but even pulled down a light fixture to get a good view of the ducts which ended up containing asbestos. He spent well over an hour with me explaining multiple options and laid everything out clearly. I found this company to be efficient, professional, thorough and friendly. I would recommend them highly to anyone in need of this kind of service.

It all started with a quote search through many companies for a new heating and ac system. Right off the bat Tom was the nicest and most thorough of all the estimators. He took the time to show me exactly what I could expect should I choose Aladdin for the job. He was very professional and came prepared with tons of photos to show me exactly how my system would look and why each part was so important to the overall job. A+ After weighing all the estimates they were not the cheapest but Tom worked in an amazing deal for me giving me an even better system than I had expected at a very competitive price. I booked him and his team for the job and they stared immediately after. The guys were super professional, prompt, clean and efficient. The got rid of my old swamp cooler and installed the new system in 4 days. I couldn't be happier with the job they did and to top it off the state inspector came out last week to approve the permit and even he gave Aladdin a fantastic review. He said that he's reviewed a few if their jobs and they always do excellent work. That's a mighty big compliment coming from a guy who sees a lot of installations and has nothing to do with the company. I am very happy I chose Aladdin for such a big job. Thanks guys!!

On the first day of winter, our heater was blowing cold air. We called Aladdin and someone came out on a Saturday to see what was happening. Jesse, discovered it was a faulty circuit board and limit switch. Aladdin ordered the part quickly and came out on the next available day to do the work. Jesse, was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond!

I called to schedule for check-up for heating/ac unit that was installed by another company that went out of business. Jesse was very helpful and fully explained repairs needed and ongoing maintenance.

The air conditioning and heating unit for our downstairs was making noise and not cooling. Jesse came out and gave a very professional assessment of the unit, my options and his opinion when I asked. It was obvious that he was knowledgeable and straight forward...exactly the way I like to deal with things like this. My options were to repair the leak on an old, low grade unit or replace it. i knew that it was time to replace it so Jesse had Tom come out the next day and show me my purchase options and prices. Tom was straight to the point and obviously knowledgeable. It was very simple to book them for the next day to install a 13 seer 5 ton split unit air conditioner and heating unit from Carrier. Jimmy and Jose arrived the next day, removed the old unit and installed the new one (heating furnace in the garage, a/c unit outside). They performed a very clean installation, paying a lot of attention to detail. They arrived when expected and finished the job when they said they would. Everything went perfectly.

Aladdin is very responsive and very professional. The Technician Jesse explained how the problem occurred and what need to be done and what can be done for preventive measure. He also inspected the entire unit and making sure it will run the way it supposed to. Simply said, the problem was lack of maintenance, he didn't lecture me on how I should be caring for the unit. Didn't make me feel uncomfortable, instead, he was very patience with me. He encouraged me to stick around while he works so I can understand what is happening. After he fixed the leak, Jesse also pointed out how the unit was improper installed, without safety switch and such. With his expert advise, I have Aladdin perform all works needed to ensure the AC unit is running safely. And since I am doing multiple tasks, I also get a very good deal. I am very satisfied with the job.

Stellar. If you need anyone to take care of your AC issues, make sure you ask for James. He is very professional, methodical and detail orientated. He took his time to work through and troubleshoot the issue and fixed the issue. He is very friendly and explained what he was doing in lat person terms so I understtod. He even told me where the main swith to powere the AC was located. Aladdin is my company of choice for life; whatever you do make sure James never leaves (give him a bonus). To all who may read my review, for a fast, thourough, professional and expertise job, don't hesitate to call Aladdin and ask for James. An outstanding job with Superior customer service. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but hey, you pay for what you get right?

The best experience I have ever encountered with service people. Thank you Jesse, Kyle, and Miguel for your expertise and courtesy. If you can request someone to come out initially, ask for Jesse. He treated me like his grandmother and explained everything. He also requested the company come out as soon as possible as it was quite warm and I am a senior.

Tech arrived within a few hours of phone call concerning a leak from A/C unit that was dripping through ceiling. He seemed knowledgable and assessed problem quickly, but also immediately began the "up selling" to replace unit coil? panel rather than simply unclog drain line and repair existing parts. I told him we were not interested in $5000 total replacement because we might be moving soon and then his pricing for the total replacement went down to $2500 (making me very suspicious). The price he gave me for the simple fix of existing parts also seemed quite high ($1200...$750 of which was for installing a new drain pan). I paid the service call fee and said I would be in touch while he continued to push for the newly adjusted $3300 total replacement price. I got a second estimate from a reccommended company (they said my main unit coils were still fine) and I am having the simple fix done plus some additional work to the unit for $250 less--trust your gut feeling when you feel you are being taken!

Our A/C went out at the beginning of the hottest week of the year. (This is why I listed the price as being only "good." Since we weren't going to take time to do research up the ying yang about cost, I have no information on how much we could expect to pay. Foolish, maybe, but we were TOO HOT to care. ) We looked on Angie's list and found Aladdin. My husband was very impressed with Rocky, who answered all his questions - whether he asked them or not. The men who came to install the unit were very professional and took great care not to dirty - and to clean up what couldn't be helped. The foreman insisted on showing us how to work the thermostat even though we said we would use the booklet to figure it out. What really impressed us, however, is that we had two inspectors come (one for Title XXIV) and the final inspection from the city, and both inspectors impressed on the quality of the work performed. We had read reviews on air conditioning units, and the responses to people who were unhappy always said it was due to improper installation. The inspectors complimenting how good the installation was, made us doubly happy with our choice.

We had Aladdin re-do all of our duct work and put in a new thermostat in December 2012. It is beautiful up in the attic now, too bad no one sees that investment. They were on time and professional and Tom was our contact. He got back to me right away after providing the estimate and arranged to do the job quickly. All was well and we have been very satisfied with our system until Friday this past week. Souren and Jesse both went above and beyond to make sure that we had air conditioning right as the heat wave hit. When our air conditioning went out we called our home warranty who sent out a incompetent technician from a different company who blew 220 volts into our house, literally blew up thermostat (it caught fire) and blew the whole circuit board to our system. We have a baby so I was very concerned about the heat and getting everything fixed quickly. I called Aladdin since I knew they knew our system and they came out that same afternoon. Jesse actually took the time to contact the home warranty company even though Aladdin doesn't normally work with them. He spent time getting approval to do the work when I insisted on using an outside provider to the home warranty company to fix the problem. Aladdin came on Monday for the first time and by Tuesday evening we had air. I would definitely use Aladdin again.

I didn't think I needed to sign-up for an expensive monthly maintenance agreement. I felt pressured and manipulated. I am sorry !!
