Very slow to respond. When I told him that there is a much better deal available through another provider and asked him if he would be willing to give me more hours for free, he did not respond to the request. He only told me that there is not more time at the scheduled day. I am tired of waiting for his response and will purchase the other deal.

Nick was great! Very competent, efficient, clean, and easy to work with him. Additionally, he was easy to get a hold of and schedule an appointment. I will use him again for sure! Thanks Nick!!

Nick is absolutely one of the very best handymen I've ever used. He is conscientious, prompt, and lives to every commitment he makes. He does absolutely phenomenal work. First quality. Better than the fencing that was originally installed. and he is quick. He replaced four large sections of my redwood fence within four hours. And at no extra charge, he repaired a bad door I had on my gas meter enclosure.

Nick, the owner and operator, despite his claims of having a lot of experience in construction, seems to have trouble with all of it. It took him hours, that is fifty dollars an hour. I supplied all the screen door, door knobs and weather stripping so I paid for all the materials myself so I wanted somebody, a handyman to put these things on but he just had a terrible time. We can’t lock the bathroom doors, these are the new lock sets that we put on, and neither bathroom door would lock. He cut the aluminum screen door and left a gap where flies and mosquitos can come into the house, it was like a movie. The whole purpose of the screen door is to keep flies and mosquitos from coming in. Once you cut the aluminum door, you cannot glue the pieces back again and so I found a strip of rubber lying on the ground and I said, “Here why don’t you glue this to the wood work, the frame of the door, so it will fill in the gap a little bit,” so he did that. I’m not happy and I don’t blame Angie, I chose this man. He talks the good talk about his skills but I wouldn’t recommend him to anybody.

Nick is great. He is very responsive and flexible on appts. He was very thorough, honest, and cleaned up after himself. He is very professional and has a great amount of knowledge. We will definitely have Nick come back soon to work on some more things in our house. He also came in under his bid! Honesty and reliability is #1 for us and Nick was a great example of that.

Nick was a pleasure to work with, and he did a very good job overall. He did make some mistakes along the way (painted some walls we wanted unpainted), but he came back and fixed all the stuff we had issues with at no additional cost. He was easy to schedule time with, and charged a reasonable rate. He's also very easy to work with. He recommended a great paint to us (KM Envirocoat - zero VOC and the house barely smelled after the first few days) and overall was helpful to us in the "getting the house fixed-up" process.

Nick did a great job. He arrived on time and everything went as planned. I will definitely hire him again.

On both occassions Nick was punctual, professional, polite and conscientious. He did outstanding work, was creative with solutions and informed me of the approach he would take to remedy the situation before starting each job. I first used Nick in Oct based on reviews on Angie's list. On that visit he did the following work: fixed three wooden fences in my backyard which no longer closed properly due to warping and /or had pulled away from the supporting brackets. He also replaced old track lighting in my living room and put in new fixtures, and unclogged my sprinkler line where some of the heads were not operating properly. There was one job he was not able to do, replace the handle on the slider, as a piece of the lock had broken off. He did advise me on how to reorder the piece and would install it another day if I wanted him to come back. The total work on this day was apprx $500 which included materials ($375. labor and $125 materials) I was so impressed with his work in October, I scheduled another appt for Dec for a much bigger job: Replace wooden supports for awning in my backyard. On this job he needed a helper as it was a two man job due to the heavy lifting. Nick had premeasured the posts and support beam during his work in Oct, and came prepared to work on the 7th at 9:00 sharp with all material in hand. The rotten posts were removed, new ones installed, cement poured, awning bracketed to the house, and primed applied in about five hours. He came back the next morning (Sunday) for another hour to remove the support brackets and paint the new wood. All was completed to my satisfaction. Total cost fo this job was $750.00 ($500 labor + $250 materials) On another note, I found his communication style very refreshing; he often shared ideas, and knowledge about the work he was doing and suggestions for me should I want to pursue another avenue. This is a guy who built his own business and knows the value of creating lasting customer relationships. I will surely use him again. In fact, we have another job in the next month which will need help with (dismanteling an old rusty metal shed, and installing a new one). I am very pleased to have found a competent 'handyman' without having to hire a contractor to do routine home repairs for an old house. P.S. We also have a new puppy who was a consideration when doing work in and around the house. He was very comfortable working around her and made accommodations when I needed to take her out back for breaks.

Nick was prompt, even a little early, on the agreed-on date, and after an inventory of the various parts and products I'd ordered, went right to work. He proceeded methodically and efficiently through the replacements and installs, and cleaned up after each task. He set aside all the warranty and instruction paperwork for me, clearly explained how the new lights worked, how long they'd need to charge before use and how to test them. He went over operation of the range hood vent system, pointing out damage to the burned out motor and offering suggestions to keep it from happening again. He was pleasant and professional, and asked permission before having a photographer (also a nice guy) come to do photos for the List. And he was done in just a few hours! Great job!

Terrible experience. First of all, Nick Pleadwell abandonned the job, made me pay for the materials ($400), broke the koi pond even further than how it was before he started the job. Very unprofessional and unethical contract. I used him before for very small jobs and it was ok (switch replacement, basic plumbing, etc.). However, for something a bit more lengthy it was a total nightmare and now I am initiating a legal procedure. Mr. Pleadwell accepted a contracting job to change a koi pond liner to fix a leak from the previous liner and clean the debris at the end.3 issues occurred from Mr. Pleadwell's job resulting in additional cost for me:1 - He created new holes in the brand new liner (which I paid for), which potentially can create new leaks overtime. This is due to a mistake to place nails in the liner BEFORE filling up the pond (4000 gallons capacity). As the water filled up it created an enormous pressure on the nails that go through the liner and 3 holes were created. He then patched them but this is a leak risk moving forward.2 - He didn't seal well the pipes inside the liner which leaks today. The pond cannot be filled to be in a operating mode.3 - He left the debris cleaned from the pond in the backyard. This is a nuisance and a health risk hazard for my current tenant. He also left the surplus liner materials in the backyard and was supposed to clean them.Mr. Pleadwell left the job even though it is unfinished. All 20 Koi finishes died in the process. At the present time, the koi pond is leaking below the pipes that would help recirculate the water to keep it clean. The stagnant water is a health hazard for my current tenant if it is left "as-in": West Nile Virus site, etc. I found our also that Nick does not have a valid contractor license in California and is therefore doing this work illegally.

Nick was on time and eager to work plus responsive to my many questions . He was very polite, patient and accommodating as was willing to do any small add on project I might have. Due to his intentional scheduling I did not have to wait longer than 2 weeks for work to be started. He is also open to using green products.

I was very impressed with Nick. He was at my house a couple minutes before our agreed upon starting time. He completely rebuilt the fence using all new parts and cleaned up after himself once he was finished with the project. I am happy with the fence and would use Nick again in the future.

Went very well. Nick was responsive with the quote and showed up on time. All work was performed to specifications and he even went above and beyond and taught me a few things. He explained what he was doing and asked questions and presented options. I would use Nick again for other projects. Good guy.

While he did a good job, the coupon on the site didn't have any conditions associated with it and he said it was valid for a day job and he couldn't apply it to me. The amount was very nominal for the discount and I was very disappointed that he didn't honor it. It certainly left a very bad case. He charges a fixed price which was fine. To me, if there was a discount on it, he has to apply it. If that applies for certain jobs, that has to be posted. It was like he was blaming Angie's List for not updating it. It doesn't matter who's fault it is.

Nick showed up on time, ready to work and was friendly and professional. He completed the job on time and within budget. He draped the work area due to dust and cleaned up everything when he was finished. We were very satisfied with his work and will call him again when needed.

I messaged the provider for work I wanted done, I did not recieve a response after 2 weeks.

Everything went just fine. Initially it was to have been a one-day job, but after removing the tile, Nick pointed out the extent of water seepage behind the tiles, and recommended that the backing be allowed several days to thoroughly dry. He had an opening on the weekend, and returned to finish the job. Despite having to make two visits, he charged just the original estimate. We were very happy with the work.

Excellent service; very good price, courteous and on-time. Will definitely use Nick again!

Nick showed up right on time, meticulously reviewed the list of items my wife and I had prepared, made sure he understood everything, made suggestions, and then went to work. We thought we had at least eight hours of work for him, but he finished everything in four hours. He was polite and articulate, keeping us informed as he fixed things, and made sure we checked out his work on each task before going on to the next one. In short, he was great. Before Nick left, we made an appointment to have him return in about a month to take on some other tasks. Our only issue with Nick is that his schedule is so crowded (probably because he's so capable) that you may have to schedule an appointment weeks in advance.

After calling and leaving a message to set up an appointment with the contractor, it took 5 days before I received a call back. However, I did set up an appointment. When he arrived he appeared very nervous that I became uncomfortable. I was not confident that he understood the job, which was replacing my stair rail. Further, it seems he had a difficult time coming up with a price. When he quoted me a price, it was very high. It did not appear he wanted the job.

This is our second time using Nick to fix/replace some items in our home. He's punctual, honest and hard working. He does good work. I'd certainly use him again anytime.
