Description of Work: My husband and I measured our rental property and gave the diagram to the salesperson. I told him it was for a rental and didn't have a lot of money to pay for it. He based the cost on our measurement and told us the price was really good and lots of people use this for their rentals.

Description of Work: We decided to remove the carpeting in our bedrooms and put in laminate flooring to match the rest of our condo. We discovered that the company that engineered the original flooring was no longer in business. Peter was very helpful in ordering many samples for us to take home and try and match our original laminate. He also gave us excellent advice on the type of materials we could use for the sound barrier that was required by our HOA. The flooring was laid in two bedrooms and four closets. We were very pleased with the finished job.

Description of Work: Read all reviews and felt fairly confident in going to Sid's for our flooring needs. Spoke with Conrad over the phone regarding vinyl and carpet for a project we had and he seemed very knowledgeable and fair. We went in to look and met with Conrad and chose some samples and went to sit down to price. It was simple because everything we had chosen was "in stock", if we needed more not a problem. I was a tad nervous that my contractors sq. footage might be off so, and he was installing that himself so it was important to me that we didn't have to order more. I called Conrad when our contractor was ready to install the vinyl and gave him a day's notice and again he told me it was in stock no problem, when I came in it would be ready for me. Saturday rolled around and we went to pick it up, and everyone had that deer in the headlight look about them. One of the other salesmen that was trying to help me asked "did he say it was here at this store?" I was a little annoyed because I'm supposed to be the customer, I order, I pay and you get it for me! After 10-15 minutes the entire staff is looking for this stuff which turns out is not there or anywhere else in the city, but they have some in LA! A half an hour in my contractor calls to find out when I would be delivering because he and another guy were standing by ready to do the intall and then later put in the vanities. Having gone through all the samples in my price range and only finding one I was okay with (yet not really liking) I asked the store to make it right for me or I would have to pull the order and go elsewhere. The made it work by finding another darker vinyl which was twice as much as the one I chose for the same price. My worst fears were realized when at the end of the day my contractor phoned me and said he was short 5 feet less than ughgreater than I had to drive back to the store and get more, and guess what? I had to pay full price! I felt that it was Conrads mistake to begin with they should have sold the other 5 feet at the original price I paid. And Conrad? No appolgy no nuttin but "how'd that flooing work out Bottom line is if they didn't have what I wanted I would gone elsewhere, and he didn't want that to happen. I've been in customer service for years, I would have gone to the powers that be and asked that we cut them a break because of my screw up. But he didn't, he barely acknowled me. I was so angry that I delivered the flooring, came home and got on the computer and found another place. I told them what had happened and that I didnt want to spend much on the carpeting because it was to be sold. He said they had plenty of choices and tho he was leaving someone would show me where they were, and also pointed out there is a certain grade that must be met to comply with some lenders, and section 8's ? And tho Conrad told me they werea few cents cheaper than most places, they weren't. I never told this guy what I payed at Sid's, but his carpet bid was $1300.00 where Sid's was $2100.00, and a better grade. There was a woman at Sid's that tried her best to help me, I believe her name is Gisselle (not sure of the spelling) she was a bright spot in the entire situation. Had it not been for her they would have been rated worse. Also I have a problem when everyone in the buiding is speaking spanish infront of you! That is incredibly rude and unprofessional.

Description of Work: At the last minute before moving we decided to replace the worn carpeting in what was to be the workshop and including stairs. We figured it would be a super challenge to move the heavy work bench, desk and cabinets to replace at a later date. Sid's gave us a reasonable estimate for installation and confirmed the carpeting was in stock. The installers arrived when they said they would. The stairs were done well. When we very shortly learned that the transition from stair to carpet would lead to a rapid fraying of the carpet, we called about the problem. At no charge they came out and installed a transition strip. We are very pleased with the result and their very quick turnaround.

Description of Work: Sid's provided carpet install and coordination of tile install. Due to uneven/cracked areas in our old tile Sid's recommended one of their sub contractors (Wirtz Quality Installations, Inc.) come out and assess the problem and bid the job. They assured me they had a fix for the problem and did great work in laying the new tile. I was very grateful that Rik Goodman at Sid's suggested them. Sid's was probably not the cheapest but they were competitive and I really liked their selection. They also were willing to order tile from other tile wholesalers if I didn't find what I wanted in their store. Very flexible and accommodating and willing to answer all my questions. They were prompt in coming out for measuring and bidding. We had approximately 1900 feet combined of tile and carpet. They also loaned out floor samples to take home. They were also flexible in working around our scheduling the house to be painted prior to carpet install. I would recommend them and use them again.

Description of Work: We used Sid's Carpet Barn in July for putting wood floor, and carpets in our guest room.

Description of Work: Level 2nd level floor and install padding and carpet approx 500 sq ft + stairs and purchased wood for downstairs. Did not use them for wood floor installation but did use them for carpet install.
