+ 1 moreNate and his entire team at Theater Monster are excellent at what they do. I just finished a giant remodel and not only did Nate and his team come in and present ideas and options that I had no idea were even possible, his bid was the most competitive and easy to understand. Home automation and technology in general can be a daunting subject for someone who isn’t experienced with it. Nate presented a very understandable plan from beginning to the end… He did all my prewiring, installed 15 TV’s and made my house a smart home using Control 4. I can push 1 button and the whole house goes into “Party” mode, it’s incredible. They presented great options for our home theater and really made that room something special working within a limited budget. He also integrated 5 old surveillance cameras into our new system which many people told me couldn’t be done… Nate did it in about an hour. Nate also did all of our landscape lighting and integrated the system into Control 4 along with all of our outdoor speakers. The Theater Monster Team worked seamlessly with our other subs (ADT, electricians etc) which made the renovation that much better. If I ever have an issues with the system which is very rare I know Nate is just a text away and usually fixes it within the hour remotely. I’m happy to recommend this company to all our friends and clients.

+ -1 moreThe short experience with Theater Monster was not a good one.I called and contacted the owner of the company who came to our house to geve us an estimate on a previousy acquired home theater system. He came spent a couple of minutes,jotted a couple of notes, and said he would get back to us with the estimate. I thought that to be pretty quick,but just wrote it off as being very knowlegable as to what needed to be done. In short, he really never did get back to us,until I heavily pursued him. I called the company and left messages,but no response. Finally, the owner answered the phone, and said it would cost over 500$. I still requested the estimate,but as yet have not received it. Obviously, out little job was not worth his time and effort. By the way, I had Fire Wire come out and they did the job for 90.00$.A little professionalism would served Theater Monster well..even if it was to tell me that they were not interested in the job.

Good sound from Home Theater and in bedroom Prices higher than we had really wanted to pay, but that was our decision Communication could have been better Personnel was accommodating, punctual, and polite We weren't aware that a third receiver was being ordered for our system. We already had two. One fairly new, and the other state of the art but quite a bit older. Not sure if this was our fault because we didn't understand or if they forgot to tell us or explain why this was necessary. Found out after the fact.

+ -1 moreMost importantly, everything worked! The first time! We've had a flawless experience with hard-wired gigabit networking available everywhere in the duplex, working across the floors. The structured wiring panels in the closets upstairs and downstairs where all the cables on each floor are gathered are very well organized and pleasing to look at with labeling of the wires. The wiring panels are flush with the back of the closet wall and unobtrusive. In the end, the final cost turned out to be a little below the estimate, mostly because of adjustments for what we planned and what we finally actually implemented. Nate and Theater Monster where prompt, courteous, and professional. Nate took the time to advise and educate me as needed, and reply to all my questions with helpful information in a timely manner. I even appreciated his integrity when he admitted that a roof TV antenna installation was not his forte. We absolutely recommend him.
Description of Work: Nate from Theater Monster helped me get gigabit computer network CAT6 cabling and HD TV coax RG6 cabling distributed throughout a 2-story duplex to a total of 10 rooms, many with multiple drops on 2 walls. He met with me, toured the duplex, and helped me design the layout. He providing some very helpful suggestions like the cost effectiveness and benefit of running the RG6 cabling at the same time as the CAT6, how to distribute the drops for the most usefulness, and where to put wiring panels in closets, and how to connect the upper and lower floors so that they could both share computer networking and HD TV but also be separated easily in the future should one floor change from family to renters. Working from an architectural drawing I provided him, he produced a network diagram as part of his estimate, at no charge, unlike another contractor. He delivered this in a timely manner via email. The diagram got me thinking and helped me refine our desired layout. Because of scheduling challenges with various major renovations ongoing on the property, and the fact that I had full-time resident contractors working for me, Nate was very accommodating in adjusting the project scope to allow my resident contractors to lay all the cables. Unlike another contractor we spoke to, who insisted in charging a very large premium for splitting the job with someone else. This also represented trust on both sides that he was willing to do this. He had to trust that we would be reasonable and take responsibility if our contractors made mistakes in laying cables. We had to trust that he would do the central wiring panels and the trimming and faceplates properly. Despite our best efforts on both sides there ended up being some confusion about quantity of wires (our job was really big, an extremely wired household) but Nate and another person from Theater Monster went and bought the missing supplies and still finished the project on the day scheduled.
