+ -1 moreThe entire fix took just a couple of hours after I had spent two days trying to figure things out on my own. The Apple help line suggested a work-around that didn't really do the job. It took Tom at Mac Techies just less than two hours and things were running more smoothly than ever!
Description of Work: I downloaded osSierra onto my iMac a few days ago. Immediately after downloaded the "upgrade," me email program crashed and wouldn't respond. In addition, the processing speed slowed to a snails pace. A few other users had the same problem. I called Mac Techies in Murrieta because Yelp gave them good reviews. The Yelp reviewers were right! Tom asked what was wrong, I told him, and he remotely diagnosed the issue. He did a bunch of things I don't understand, but essentially he removed just about everything from my hard drive, backed the operating system start-up to a USB drive that I picked up for $5, "wiped the hard drive clean," and reinstalled a "clean" version of the operating system. Then Tom reconfigured my email program so it works better than before. And the "clean install" has my computer running faster than Usain Bolt! In addition, I now have the thumb drive with the start-up data so if anything else goes wrong, I just plug it in and run it.
