Description of Work: I confirmed two this week regarding the appointment. I went to the showroom the previous week, where I confirmed the appointment as well. The sales person, she was very helpful. I found samples in which I would have liked Jason to bring the day of the appointment. Jason never showed up to the scheduled appointment January 15,2015. When no one showed up after 20 minutes, I called the office. I spoke to two different secretaries and both had confirmed my appointment. They both had tried contacting Jason and said it has gone to his voicemail. It was unusual for him not to show up or respond. No one ever contacted me to apologize nor explain why no one ever showed up. I had taken the day off of work today and was ready to purchase.

I was very pleased with the installation of the shades. The shades were installed on time and look beautiful. I am happy to say it has been 2 years and the motorized shade with the remote control is still working wonderfully.

The representative came out, told us about the product, measured and gave us an estimat. We were given temporary shades as promised. The shutters arrived as scheduled. One installer came out and we thought, and quot;Uh-oh, this is going to take forever.and quot; Wrong, he was in, did his job, everything fit perfect and he was gone. The shutters were of such high quality and they work so well on keeping the house cooler.
Description of Work: I don't think I've ever had a more pleasant experience with a company who was going to do something at my house. Got a quote that was far less than the previous one for a product that seemed better - so that was a nice surprise. Everything they said they would do was done. We are so pleased with the result! The shutters have added such a nice look to the house as well as being useful, keeping the house from getting so hot. You can't ask for more than that.

We were provided with professional consultation on what would best fit our windows, a free estimate, and a timely and quality installation. The prices were very competitive and the consultant even called Home Dept to get a comparison estimate. We were extremely pleased with the service we received, and could not offer a higher recommendation.
Description of Work: Measured windows and sliding glass doors, provided free estimate, compared prices to Home Depot, installed window coverings, and hauled away old coverings.

Horrible!
Description of Work: I strongly do not recommend this company. I had a horrible experience with the owner and his manager. Manager came out twice to measure for shutters. When the installer arrived with the shutters they did not fit. The owner wanted to build them out to fit which would have looked terrible in our brand new custom home! Installer hammered in 4 of them and we could not even open the windows! Big safety issue! They charged us in advance for all of the shutters, which a contracter is not legally allowed to do(no more than 10%)! GE Credit saw that they had committed several illegal acts and credited our entire amount for the shutters. It was the biggest nightmare dealing with a window covering contractor, after building our own home and dealing with many different contractors! Caused my husband and I many sleepless nights as the owner was unprofessional, threatening, and cursed at us. I highly recommend Avalon Shutters. They were very polite and professional, measured correctly and knew what he was doing! What a concept! That's all I was looking for!

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with us back in 2006. With that being said, we did refund your financing charges. In regards to financing, we did not and do not operate "illegally". When a customer chooses to finance their job 100% and offers no money down, then the job is financed at the beginning of the order. All in all, I'm glad you were able to find somebody that could work with you and provide your shutters.

Affordable Window Coverings was very responsive to all of the changes we wanted. The staff at Affordable Window Coverings took excellent care of us from the custom window pre-measurement phase to the final installation phase. The result is perfectly aligned window covernings throughout our home that fit our needs functionally, aesthetically, and financially. All this at a very affordable price. I ordered the shades and within two weeks they were installed. It took a little longer for the motorized shade but still in a timely manner.
Description of Work: I had five woven wood window shades installed. One shade was a motorized shade operated by a remote control. The motorized shade was supposed to be battery operated but the shade was too heavy for a battery. Affordable Window Coverings sent out an electrician to install the motor to a power source in the attic. The motorized shade works very well now.

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE BLINDS AND THE WARRANTY. IN FACT, WHEN OUR DOG CHEWED UP SOME OF THE SLATS, HE REPLACED THEM FOR FREE. ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, HE DID A GREAT JOB.
