+ -1 moreI found Johe knowledgeable, friendly, patient, polite, with great expertise. Explained the diagnosis process, and came up with alternatives to a more costly repair, all for $105. The second issue required crawlspace reinstallation of dryer ducting, and he was able to do this quicker than I ever could.
Description of Work: Diagnosis of problematic sensor-controlled gas dryer cycles, and reinstallation of a failed underfloor dryer vent.

+ -1 moreJohe did a great job fixing our dryer -- categorical success. He arrived maybe 30 second late for the appointment and apologized for keeping me waiting. Super nice guy. Johe quickly identified the problem with our gas dryer (igniter was worn out). He sourced a replacement for the igniter, returned with it and very soon our dryer was back in great working order. He also saw that we had a lot of lint build up inside the machine (16 old dryer) which he cleaned for us. Next time I need an appliance repaired Johe is the first person I will call.

Description of Work: Perfectly! This was an emergency repair for the fridge which quit in middle of heat spell. I called Saturday morning (it’s open weekends!) and Mike came at 11 AM. He quickly diagnosed the problem of a non working fan, did what he could to troubleshoot issue but it wouldn’t start, so he charged only a diagnostic fee, later emailed as promised when new part was ordered. His attempted repair did wonders though as that night the fan restarted and fridge has worked fine ever since. When part arrives we’ll have him install it or keep it for future need. Silicon Valley Appliance Service and Repair is now our go-to service! All A’s! Make that A+++!

Johe cleaned out the discharge hose that runs from the dishwasher to the device on the rim of the sink, and another hose from the device on the rim of the sink to the disposal. There was nothing wrong with the dishwasher itself. He recommended throwing half a cup of vinegar into the dishwasher once a week or so to prevent plugging in the future. Johe was prompt, friendly, clean, knowledgeable, efficient, and well equipped with tools.
Description of Work: Dishwasher was not pumping out the dirty water.

+ -1 moreIt went as I had anticipated. I already researched what went wrong by speaking with microwave expert technicians and identified the part as well. Johe's analysis also was same which I was happy about. Went ahead with the repair and he charged me reasonably ($120 for diagnosis and repair). I had identified the part and informed Johe about it which he confirmed would work. The service would be further better if he had identified the part and it's availability (either in his inventory or from outside).
