Robert Griffith Cabinets

Awful, workmanship was terrible, never on schedule and remains incomplete. We have to demolish our entire kitchen and start from scratch. Robert is a serial liar and con man.

This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had with remodeling. Rather than go into great depth of detail for all of the issues for the >6 month project, here is a summary of what went wrong: - Cabinets delivered late, not put together - Painting was sub-par. No sanding of material initially or between coats; All surfaces very rough. - After painting, all drawer fronts were found not to be square. - Cabinets installed were not level; Thus, countertops not level either. - Granite was partially installed & fabricated, then sub-contractor he hired held granite for ransom. Police became involved. - Had to drive to Roseville to pick up hardware that was promised but never delivered. - Every subcontractor and even himself complained that they did not have enough gas money to get to Napa. - Project was supposed to take ~2 months. After 6 months, finally gave up and hired a furniture repair company to complete the cabinets, a painting company to re-do the complete paint job, and granite contractor to complete the installation. This guy advertises on craigslist, clearly has the skills to build cabinets, but is so financially crooked that he underbids jobs, collects the money, and never completes them. There are MANY people we've discovered that have suffered the same fate. In addition, I'm told by more than one of his "staff" that he rarely pays them. Overall, avoid this contractor since you won't get a high-quality product, and may be stuck without a kitchen for a long time.

BEWARE!!! Working with Robert has been a complete nightmare. He comes across as knowledgeable and affable until you sign the contract; In general, he asks for full payment up-front (I did not do this) and has a history of not finishing projects. He said the project would take 2-3 weeks; It's been many months, and we eventually had to hire another contractor to finish the job. I've spoken with many of the people he's hired to work on kitchen jobs; They're all waiting to get paid and typically walk away getting paid only a fraction of what they were promised. This has been the WORST contractor experience I have ever had, and no-one should hire him.
