Nan Kitiyakara

I was hoping to find a new engineer to resolve a problem left over from working with a nightmare contractor because communication with the original engineer wasn't working well. Nan came highly recommended from the contractor who took over the job after the first one abandoned us, so I gave him a call. Though Nan was skeptical about the wisdom of switching engineers mid-project, Nan agreed to visit our house. He was courteous and thorough over the phone, and I immediately had a good feeling about him. Our meeting confirmed my impression of Nan over the phone. He observed the structural problem, looked through our drawings, asked great questions, and in the end explained that his hunch was correct: it would be prohibitively expensive to have him do the work. Nonetheless, he stayed for several more minutes to walk me through my options and to offer suggestions. Based on all of this and on how detail-oriented my new contractor is, I suspect Nan would be a terrific engineer to work with.
