+ 0 moreExcellent. Everything, from arriving promptly, professionalism and job quality was perfect. I scheduled to have the cylinders replaced in my dead bolts. In the meantime I changed out the door knob (with lock) in one of the doors. The deadbolt mechanism that matched didn't fit my door as the hole was too small. When the lock guy came, he not only redrilled the hole to accommodate the new deadbolt, he matched the cylinder in the front door deadbolt to the new one I put in. So only one key for all locks. I also had a and quot;special needsand quot; slider that required adapting some metal adaptation by grinding certain areas down. The first guy helping me said he wasn't as experienced as a different guy so he called for the other guy to respond. He was there in 15 minutes andmade the changes and installed it. They were great, there when they said they would be, and reasonably priced. I referred them to my parents who had them do their locks a day later.

+ -1 moreI called to have someone come out and look at why our garage door was no longer opening. The man who came fiddled with it for a bit checking different possibilities, and finally got it working by just disconnecting and reconnecting it. (My husband said he had tried this.) The serviceman did not believe that the opener would continue to work, so he said that wouldn't charge me for the visit yet and if the opener was still working in a week, he would send me a bill for the visit. Well, of course he was right, and a couple days later, the automatic opener stopped working again, so we called and had them come back out and replace it. The serviceman who came out the second time was very friendly and professional, and when he was done walked me through the features of the new opener. The installation took about an hour. My only point of feedback is that (at this time) they only install one kind of automatic garage door opener (Genie CM8600), so there's no choice for the buyer. I'm happy with the one they provided, and from reviews online it looks like this is a good model, but it would be nice to have a choice of brands/models.
Description of Work: Our garage door was not opening, and we learned that we needed a new automatic opener since ours was an old Sears brand (30 years old?) and parts can no longer be obtained to fix it. So, a new automatic opener was installed.

He fixed the problem without any difficulty. When he didn't have a part, he was able to secure one with no extra charge for his time. I would consider using them in the future.

+ 0 moreMountain View Door's technician came the same day and fixed the door perfectly in less than 30 minutes. The technician was very professional; courteous and left the place clean. The total cost of $ 80.00 was a pleasant surprise.
Description of Work: My electrically operated garage door jammed because I accidentally bumped the car against it as I was driving the car out while the door was only halfway open. Door had to be re-aligned and the screw drive adjusted.

On the day of the appointment, I was called that the appointment could be moved up earlier, I said yes, and he came over as arranged. He changed all the locks as requested, and also checked that there weren't any others that I had missed. He made the number of new keys I requested on the spot. 5 locks were changed and 5 keys were made. I didn't note the exact time, but it went very quickly.

Description of Work: I used Mountain View Door Closer Key & Lock. One of the sections came out and the garage doors went down and kind of mangled up the rail. I figured that I would need new rails but they came out and straightened the rails and got it working again. Everything was fine for a few months but then I started having problems. First, the garage door would go down, stop for a second and then start to raise again. But it was sporadic. It would work for a week or two, then would start acting up for a similar period. Then one day I noticed the door didn't seem to be sitting level on the ground when down. Finally, one day I noticed that the rail had loosened and was moving a lot while the door was raised/lowered. I called Mountain View Door Close Key & Lock and set up an appointment to have them come back and look at it. They came out, inspected the problem, re-leveled the door, tightened the rail (and all the bolts), adjusted the sensor light (the root of the problem) and got it working again. This was 6 months after the initial work. I was pleasantly surprised that this was all down for no charge. To me the fact that they stood behind their work in that manner is the highest recommendation that I can give to a company.

+ -1 moreGreat. I had a few other estimates for the job, and they were the nicest, the least expensive and very professional. I had a few if, ands or buts to deal with as I wanted to coordinate the garage door work with getting the outside of my house pained. So, after I ordered the panel from them I had to make a few calls to the office to see if changes could be made, and the workman and the office staff were completely cooperative, effective and efficient. Then when the work began on the repair, they showed up exactly on time, did the work in an hour, did some adjustments to the door I hadn't even requested. cleaned up the floor and were very nice to deal with. Great people, great work.
Description of Work: The bottom panel of my wood garage door had rotted out, so I needed just that panel to be replaced.

He came within the timeframe, checked the garage door, figured out the problem, went to get the part from his storage facility, and came back to fix the door within 10 minutes. After another 10 minutes he had replaced the part as well as sprayed the joints in the garage door.
Description of Work: Door was not closing every time or would close with a hitch, so he replaced a belt in the mechanism. He also sprayed all the joints to make the door run more smoothly.

+ -1 moreWhile other repair services I tried wanted to immediately replace the entire door opener, Mountain View Lock took the time to specifically repair only those parts that were broken. They came over within two hours of my call! They are truly expert on Genie openers, and had the various parts required to maintain a (30 yr old) opener, rather than just pull it out and replace it. To give a specific example, Don took a close look at the motor, and found that the rotor was fine, so there was no need to replace the motor. Truly excellent customer service.
Description of Work: My Genie garage door opener was just humming instead of opening the door. Don examined and disassembled the unit, replaced a key missing wire, replaced the clutch, and performed a thorough adjustment.

The result is things are not quite balanced as they should be. He did not want to criticize his competition but explained how carefully his company is in making sure the correct spring is installed. I will deal with this company for my next repair.

+ -1 moreOne spring was broken. I was advised to replace both because otherwise the door might be lop-sided in its movement. I was given the price when I made the appointment, and it included lubrication and any needed adjustment of the mechanism. I was given a three-hour window for arrival of the technician the next day. He arrived on time. He was business-like, pleasant, efficient, and informative. He had to do some extra work drilling new holes to install the new springs, but held to the originally quoted price. I'm not sure why the new springs wouldn't fit without drilling. The only negative is that I later discovered oil that had dripped and spattered down on the cement both inside and outside from operation of the door after his lubrication, and wished he had warned me so I could have put down newspapers.
Description of Work: Replaced both springs for swing-up garage door which has automatic opener.

He was timely, friendly, very knowledgebale, I thought did good work in a very professional manner. This is in light of having a background in Mechanical Engineering.
Description of Work: My garage door had been permanently hung up and would not open for many months. Before that it would get hung up half up while opening sometimes. I do not remember the name of the guy who worked on my door but he is one of the two owners and son of the one who established this company. The work performed was to remove a damaged part that is not needed. He stated many doors and the previous design did not have this part. He did not try to sell me a new part for him to come back and install for extra money. He made a few necessary adjustments and lubriated the rest of the door. The door has never worked any better and I am now using my garage for the first time in many months.
