Ljungquist Painting

I found Chris because the people at Kelly Moore said he was one of their big buyers and had an account at Kelly Moore store in Mountain View. They said they didn't know the quality of his work other than he buys quite a bit from them! I was in a hurry to sell house so I didn't have time to look for painters and didn't really know where to look really! Anyhow, I would not recommend Chris' business. He was very unprofessional! He did not do the painting himself! I feel like I got scammed! Make sure you get everythign in writing! He verbally quoted Premium quality Kelly Moore paint, good warranty but then I called Kelly Moore, gave them the paint name/number and found out the paint he quoted was not Kelly Moore Premium. So I asked him to put everything in writing from the paint names, paint colors, number of colors, he didn't want to do it because he wanted to write the contract in his "own terms". He reluctantly gave in at the last minute to get the contract signed on a Friday so work could begin on Monday. He quoted $4500 to paint my house: $2000.00 for the the interior and $2500 for the exterior of the house and wrote them up as 2 separate contracts! (This is the 1st sign and I should have listened to my gut instinct!) I should have seen the red flags and walk away but I was in a hurry to get the house painted and put it on the market for sale so I ignore those red flags! First, I think he gave in and wrote the contract with the exact paint types and colors (bc I didn't want any surprised charges in the middle of the job) because he didn't have another job lined up for the next week. Second, he wrote 2 separate contracts so that he would get paid for the interior paint job (easy to do) and WALK AWAY from the exterior paint job! Yes, he did that. His people finished painting my house on a Friday (sorry, don't know what time since I wasn't living there... the house was empty). He called and asked to meet me at my house and asked for a check so he could use the money to buy paint for the exterior paint job. So, I met him at 3PM and did a walk through, inspected the paint job. Of course, I thought it was strange since they were coming on the next day (Saturday) to wash the exterior so they could start painting on Monday ... but I ignored the sign and just went along, scanned the walls and gave him the check for $2000.00. When he left my house, he even said see you tomorrow. Then an hour later, I got a call from him saying that he didn't want to paint the exterior part of the house! So I had to look for another painter!

Overall all happy with work. The company did what they said they would do. Price was not the lowest estimate we received, but the work was quite good.
