Cosmos Roofing work crew were efficient, on time and a great team. Alex was helpful with his advice and very quick with his responses to my email questions. I would be happy to recommend him to anyone who has roofing or gutter issues. Also we LOVE our new sun tunnel in our DARK powder room! Very pleased with this company.

It went quite smoothly once it started, but it did take roughly 4 weeks to get scheduled. I got the feeling that they were extremely busy. Understandable, since they were quite a bit lower than our next lowest bid.

They never called back, several messages left to schedule an estimate.

Cosmos Roofing has done a quick and thorough job at the house in a hot summer day. The job includes replacing some broken boards which not found in original estimate. After putting up the new roof, they cleaned the gutters and all debris, With the San Jose City permit, the inspector from the city signed off the job immediately since it meets all the requirements of local building code for roofing. We are very satisfied with their work, will have them to do other house if needed, and highly recommend them to whoever needs a roof job.

Even though we chose not to go with Cosmos, Alex (Co-owner) was outstanding. He was honest, forthright, and very informative. Alex came and provided a competitive bid on a new roof, including gutters and new skylight covers. I had a few questions, which he answered in a patient, prompt and professional manner. Based on Alex's responsiveness, and a recommendation for Cosmos Roofing from a friend of mine who is a contractor, I hired them to re-roof my home. Alex scheduled my roof extremely quickly, pulled permits and his crew showed up on time to begin work. The work went flawlessly, from tear down through clean-up. The roof passed inspection, is water tight (confirmed by recent rains) and looks amazing! I love looking up through my new double-paned clear skylights and seeing clouds and blue sky instead of a cracked milky dome. Due to my extremely positive experience, one of my friends has already hired Cosmos Roofing to do some work for her. The only downside to hiring Cosmos is that my roof will likely last 30 years without issues, so I won't be able to use these guys again!

Alex Cosmos provided excellent customer service, with constant updates and feedback at every point of the work, and had fair prices. Roof has a 20-year warranty. Looks like a foam roof but does require recoating like a foam roof. Roof was installed, all areas were left cleaned and in an orderly fashion. I would highly recommend Cosmos Roofing. Ask for Alex. Alex and his team were fantastic! We had to wait a bit, with all the bad weather and an understandably large queue, but Alex pinged us last week to let us know that a team was going to show up to replace our roof. Everybody was extremely efficient and polite, and the new roof was installed in just a little over two day's work–there was a lot of rotting wood that needed to be replaced. Another extremely efficient person came by the next day, to install all our downspouts and replace our garage gutter. We immediately noticed a huge difference between our old tar and gravel roof and the new cool cap roof with extra insulation: it went up to 80º after the roof was installed, and our house kept cool for most of the day, where previously it would have been sweltering inside.

I chose Cosmos Roofing after obtaining three bids. Alex called to my attention that I could likely save more money by increasing the insulation in my attic rather than add an insulation layer to the flat roof. I had not thought of that possibility. My flat-roof home was built in the 1920's and had some challenges during the roofing process. Alex and his father customized a solution so as not to increase the possibility of unexpected damage to the exterior stucco of the house. I am very pleased with their work and communication throughout the process and highly recommend Cosmos.

Alex gave us a very good bid to replace our roof at a house we own Menlo Park. Once we had some clear days, the re-roofing went quickly and we are really pleased with our beautiful new, composition roof. Alex is responsive and wonderful to work with. I wanted to stay with a wood shake roof, because I don't really like the look of composite shingles. Wood shake is a lot more expensive, so I chose Cosmos, because Alex submitted a very competitive bid to provide a wood shake roof. I saw that they were working on a house in my neighborhood and I looked into them online. A friend had used them as well, so I felt comfortable choosing them to work on my house. They only concern that I had was with El Nino on its way and long lead times for scheduling, he said that as long I was under contract, they would come and repair any holes in the roof until they could re-roof the whole house and that didn't happen even after 2 requests. I was worried during the heavy rains in December and January, because I knew there were a few holes in my roof that might leak water into the attic space. Luckily that didn't happen, However, once they started the re-roof, Tim and his crew did a great job, worked very quickly and finished almost a full day ahead of schedule just before a really heavy bout of rain. They kept the site very clean throughout. My roof looks great and I'm very happy with the result!

I had a very good experience with Cosmos Roofing. Cosmos did a great job replacing the roof on our house and detached garage. The garage job included installing new gutters. Alex was very easy to work with and Jesus and the rest of the crew worked hard to get the job done well and quickly. They cleaned up around the house every day which I appreciated. In 1988 we moved into our first home in Sunnyvale, and one of the first upgrades we invested in was to put on a new roof. We hired a roofing company called Cosmos Roofing, a family owned business since 1973, on the recommendation of our neighbor. During the installation we were impressed with the competence, professionalism, efficiency and fair pricing of Cosmos, and were most pleased and completely satisfied with the end product. This first roof held up well over the years and was still doing fine 27 years later in 2015, but it was beginning to show signs of wear ? so we wanted to get the roof replaced and upgraded, especially since a strong El Nino was being predicted for the upcoming rainy season. We were pleased to find out that Cosmos was still in business, with the son, Alex, now running the daily operations. When they came out to do the price estimate, we were impressed again with their expertise, fair pricing, and the pride they took in seeing their original installation still going strong. Alex explained some of the new roofing technologies and styling that had evolved over the years, and was now available this time around. He also explained that the company offered as an option, to install new gutters and downspouts as part of the job, and to do so at a reasonable price. We were thrilled as the old gutters and downspouts were originals and badly needed to be replaced, and had assumed these would have to be installed by a separate contractor. After the estimate and getting our questions answered, we hired Cosmos and reserved their first available date to get the job done. On the appointed day they came out with a big crew and got to work ? and were they fast and efficient! They had two layers of the old roof off on the first day and proceeded in just three days to totally install a brand new and beautiful roof, which included new hardware vents, and the new downspouts and gutters. They also replaced, at our request, and at a very reasonable price, some old roof boards, which had been water damaged over time. After the roofing job was completed they thoroughly cleaned up after themselves, and left the back, front, and side yards of our home, just as they had found them ? immaculate! And all of this was done within the original price estimate, and came with a ?lifetime guarantee.? It was a smooth process and the work was completed as promised. Alex was very responsive and honored the quote given us even though we were slow to make up our minds.

I called first on 10/27 and since no one answered, I left a message. We needed a repair along with a new roof. They never called back. On 11/2 I called once again to see if I could speak with someone but this time NO ONE answered. I simply do not understand how this company manages to do business. Cross this one off of your list!

Cosmos Roofing completed a roof replacement for my home on 10/23/15, including new gutters, ridge venting and upgraded attic insulation. I?ve been up on the roof and the results look great. The team paid lots of attention to detail and it shows. Alex was very responsive by providing a timely quote and quick follow-up on all questions. Work started on schedule and was completed in 4 days. The team was courteous, professional and hard working. All I can say is WOW!!! These guys are amazing. I looked at several roofing contractors (about 8). While many were qualified, Cosmos Roofing stood out. Alex, Tio, and their team were always professional, gave great advice, and did an absolutely amazing job. They offered a fair price within my budget, made reasonable recommendations that did not break the bank, and did an outstanding, quality job iwithin the time-frame that was promised. They even worked their timing around an issue that I had to take care of in my garage (which required a 2.5 day delay). I have already referred their name to several of my neighbors. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who needs to get a new roof. They really know their business.

It took a little while to get on the calendar because they were very busy but once I was scheduled it was pretty quick. Alex and his team (including Theo) were amazing. Truly professional and courteous. They went above and beyond the job scope. I had a couple of estimates from other companies that I didn't feel comfortable with so I never called them back. When I first talked to Alex, he was very knowledgeable about my house and what the best options were for me. Extremely trustworthy. I am very happy with the result and would recommend them.

The job went very well from start to finish. After contacting Cosmos, Alex came out and quoted the job. He was great, very knowledgeable and provided great advice. After getting quote from 4 other companies I emailed Alex and asked that Cosmo preform the work. Cosmos was not the cheapest nor the most expensive, but Alex's professionalism sold me. They were able to get me on their schedule a week later. The crew chief Larry came right when he was supposed to and was very familiar with my style of roof. They got started right away, cleaned up everyday and overall did a fantastic job. I would recommend Cosmos Roofing to any one!

I initially got a bid from them as they?d done my neighbor?s roof and they were very happy with the job done. I wanted a quality job but I was concerned about price. Alex was good at explaining the options and what needed to be done as he prepared the estimate. I was impressed by how businesslike they were, including a long list of local references. Communication was good and the execution was great. Their team really got the job done---quickly and well. Also, the price was competitive, especially given the quality of their materials and workmanship. They were also careful about the landscaping and cleanup. They even gave me plastic throws to cover the contents of the garage and attic, to minimize the mess. All in all, I?d give them an A+! P.S. I had a chance to talk with the city?s building inspector and he said Cosmos really is a quality outfit (and that not every roofer out there does quality work.) They know their business.

I called three roofers, initially, and the one that we chose was great, so maybe I was lucky that Cosmos pooped-out.

After receiving 4-5 various bids, my wife & I entrusted our 1922 home in San Mateo Park to Cosmos Roofing, and will be forever grateful that we did. Neither of us had been through a re-roofing, and our home had never been taken-down-to-the studs before, which had now become code. There were a number of layers to be removed which they did in one day. Jesus, who has been with Cosmos for 25+ years and who was our on-site manager, had a terrific crew (employees, not contractors!) that were extremely professional and polite. They worked late and showed-up exactly on time the next morning. Everything went exactly as planned: 1) within 2% of the proposed budget; 2) done within the time frame agreed-upon prior to contract signing; 3) no major surprises after the work had commenced; 4) thorough clean-up by the workers. Alex from Cosmos was extremely thorough prior to Cosmos being awarded the contract, was available during the entire work process, and had made great recommendations that fit our old home, keeping its 1922 charm. Hisdepth of knowledge regarding materials, types of roofing, as well as the venting of our 1200 square foot attic left us at ease. He always answered the phone whenever we had questions. I guess the final test of any home contractor is based on results: we didn't have one drop of water during the horrific storms of late November & early December, 2014.
