Short story: They did a great job and were very responsive and attentive throughout the whole process. Long story: I met with and researched multiple roofers for the re-roof of my new home. They were one of the few that took the time to walk the roof with me and discuss the issues and their suggested approaches (our roof is low slope and had some drainage issues). Cosmo's price was competitive and, since they are a family business with a long history, I decided to go with them. The crew started and finished on time, and the foreman were very good at keeping me apprised of their progress; they were also available via email and text message (which still seems to be a rarity among contractors). They ended up significantly improving the roof's drainage, and took the time to repair items that were not in their original scope (free of charge). As an engineer, I warned them that I would be picky, but they took care of all of my concerns with no complaints. The job was delivered on-time and on-budget, which was quite an accomplishment considering the unpredictable weather they dealt with. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Excellent and responsive company. I was trying to decide between a complete re-roof and some repairs. They gave me a fair assessment that led me to put off the re-roof - and you know they would have rather had that work. And they did a careful and thorough job. I was entirely pleased. [One tiny nit - they left some debris up on my roof. But to be fair I never have called and asked them to come get it. Based on my good experience with them - I suspect they would take care of it if I did.]

They did a top notch job. I spent a lot of time checking out the roofers and they had the best quality premium select cedar roofing. Their price was very competitive. I had to coordinate the roofing work along with some termite work which I got done. They were very courteous about waiting for that guy to show up and get that job done. They were very punctual and they gave me a fair price. They did high quality work. They were very competitive with other companies and also with better quality of products. I was very satisfied with the whole thing. They showed up when they said they would, and they were very professional. They did the job for the price they quoted. They worked with the building inspector to make sure I did not end up with a weird looking skylight.

Cosmos showed up on time and finished the roof as scheduled (a little over 2 days). The on-site foreman introduced himself before the work started. The workmen were very professional and efficient. There were always 5 - 6 employees working on the roof at all times. The work was amazingly well orchestrated. As they finished one part of the job, the supplies and appropriate employees were arriving for the next part of the job. It was absolutely seamless. The only time the work stopped was when they were waiting for the city inspector to do an "in progress" inspection. Cosmos left no mess and gave us drop clothes to cover our stuff in the garage. The first rains demonstrated that the new roof and gutters were working well. The bidding process was also very professional and candid. Cosmos didn't try to sell me what wasn't need and were very open about the various roofing options. They were price competitive and the project came in on time and on budget. No surprises. We would we use Cosmos again -- absolutely. Would we recommend them to our friends -- absolutely.

The owner came out and went over in detail what they were going to do and asked me for my input of what I wanted done. Overall the work went well except for replacement of the fascia boards. They put in a section of wood that was cosmetically not up to the same quality as the rest of the boards on the house. The roofing job was good but the carpentry work in replacing underlying woodwork was at times a little sloppy.

Warning! Warning! For the first years, it looked great. Then, this past spring, pieces of shingle started blowing off into the yard! I called Cosmos and a representative came out. He agreed that the ridge caps were deteriorating and that they had used an inferior (15-year?) product (which I argued was not my fault). We negotiated that they would replace the ridge caps, paying for the material; and I would pay for the labor. The work would be done within a a few weeks. As the months passed, and the work never did happened, I became concerned and left repeated phone call messages -- no human ever seems to be available to answer their phone. No returned calls. Complete silence. Now we are in the rainy season with a leaky roof. Very disappointing and very unprofessional. This could happen to you.

They were very attentive to our needs and communicated well with me. They were professional, responsive, punctual, and the quality of their work was good.

I appreciated hearing from Cosmos since I clearly did not have an emergency. 2 companies I phoned never phoned back! Cosmos made a good impression in being professional about assessing the damage by climbing on the roof and giving me an estimate ahead of scheduling the repair. I never felt pressured to spend more than I wanted. A crew of 4 men came at the time I was told, did the work efficiently and cleaned up. I was billed one week later for the amount I expected.

My contact was with Alex and he was a breeze to work with at the beginning. He was a cool cat, answering all questions patiently. We made a last minute decision on the roofing material, and he had no problems with that. He provided a great estimate which included pricing on several different roofing materials, brands and options, such as radiant OSB or CDX plywood and ridge vents. The estimate was not the lowest, but it was almost the lowest. He was always prompt and responsive to my phone calls. This was a big project, requiring custom dutch gutters and working with other contractors, such as solar, skylight, and electricians. Once work began, it seemed that nobody talked to each other. I wanted to change the location of some bathroom exhaust vents for ventilation efficiency. He said "no problem" but his crew cut holes in the wrong place. I stayed home from work that week, and it was a good thing, as it took several reminders to make sure it was done correctly. There were several other requests I had which were initially agreed upon, but weren't done until several reminders. I woke up one morning to see one of the workers dropped a roll of tar paper through our dining room ceiling. Fortunately my family wasn't home eating breakfast! Eventually, he sent out some very good drywallers to fix it. His foreman painted over it one week later, but fortunately, I took the initiative to apply a coat of primer a few days earlier, or it would have been painted without primer. The custom gutters were very reasonable, but the gutter contractors did not have them ready on time. The project was delayed 1 day, where no work was done. The lead solder looks a bit messy since they did not sand it. I decided not to complain about it. The solder came loose several months later, resulting in a gutter leak. They repaired it within a week. Overall, I really wanted to like these guys, but my requests just weren't communicated to the crew and the project took twice as long as promised.

Contacted Cosmos Roofing described the work. They took measurements for the job and presented a quote with multiple options and portfolios of the various materials as well as references from previous customers. They took the time to explain the pros and cons of each option. They completed the work in about 4 days including a day off so the attic insulation could be replaced. The process was painless and new roof looks great. I'm very satisfied overall.

They did a very nice job. They gave us examples of all different kinds of shingles and gutters and there prices. They also gave addresses to homes that he just completed with the gutters and shingles that we were going to use.

I attempted to get an estimate from Cosmos back in 2000, so your mileage may vary. My old tile roof scared them away, so much so that the guy (one of owners) REFUSED to give me an estimate, as well as refused to offer any recommendations for other contractors or solutions.

On time, organized always available by phone. Very knowledgeable. Knew there night be termites in the old roof. Replaced wood at minimal cost. They do a good job at a fair price. Keep up the good work.

It went extremely well. They coordinated with a contractor who was installing solar panels. I didn't have to arrange anything. The work was clean, prompt, and complete. Workers were polite.

We were quite concerned because our roof is 27 year old heavy shakes and replacing the whole thing was rumored to cost about as much as a new Mercedes. Alex not only fixed our "not-a-leak" for nothing, he also (at our request) gave us a rough quote on replacing the roof with the same shakes we have had for years. It was $17K-19K, which was a relief. He felt we could trust the existing roof until a leak develops or we notice obvious damage externally. Then he left and we congratulated each other. We will certainly call Cosmo's when the time comes for replacement. By the way, we called them originally because they had five good references on Angie's List, compared to one or two for all the others. Nice going, Angie!

Excellent. Rich Cosmos was very flexible and fair. I got three bids and his was the best price. He is very knowledgeable about materials and options. He kept us informed regarding scheduling. The crew was polite, efficient and did not leave any mess. He guarantees his work and has been in the roofing business since 1975.

We are very happy with Cosmo's Roofing. They are very on top of things. We didn't even know that we needed a permit from the city. Cosmos went ahead and took care of everything. They came and torn off the old roof. Replaced it with a new roof, then cleaned up.

They were very complete and professional in giving us an estimate and answering any questions we had when we were comparing their bid with others. Cosmos was also very helpful in providing us with samples of tiles before we made a final selection. The re-roofing itself was very fast -- 2 days for a 2,200 sq. ft. house. The crew did a great job overall. My only criticism was that their cleanup was not as complete as promised. I had to call them a few times to come back and TOTALLY finish the job.

We called them to come out and check out our roof. We thought we might need a new roof, but we didn't want to replace it if we didn't have too. Cosmos came out and inspected the roof and said the roof is in good shape and we don't need a roof. My husband was very happy.

THEY WERE MOST COMPETITIVE OF THREE BIDS. STARTED THE JOB PROMPTLY, BUT DID NOT RELAY DAYLY PROGRESS ESTIMATES OR FUTURE SCHEDULES (E.G., TIME THEY WOULD FINISH, DAYLY STARTING TIME ETC.). TOOK THE TIME TO DO THE JOB RIGHT.
