Cosmos Roofing

Cosmo was professional from start to finish. Their bid was price competitive. They workers arrived on time and worked non-stop (other than waiting for the city inspector) and finished the roof on time in 1 1/2 days. They left the site clean.

Cosmos Roofing gave us a bid on replacing our roof. We had an old shingle roof, so lots to tear off. We picked out a comp roof and a whole crew came over and they started in on our roof. tearing off, replacing gutters, painted valleys and jacks to match the roof. I thought the crew went above and beyond the call of duty!! It was a good experience and a job well done.

We had three companies come to give us quote for replacing our roof. Cosmos won our business because of the most detailed proposal as well as the competitive price. Alex was very helpful when picking the roof material and color. He was very patient even when we had a second thought one day before they started the work. One day when they were still working, our new neighbor (an old couple) came to us and told us they thought those guys were doing a good job there. The only complaint I have is about the communication. They delayed the completion date twice without telling me. Both times, I went home, expecting the roof work was done, only to find the opposite. I had to call Alex and only then he would explain why there?s a delay. I wish they could have done better at communication. But overall, I think it?s a good experience and both me and my husband like how our new roof looks.

This was a smooth, professional job from start to finish. To us, replacing a tar & gravel roof is a big, scary, and potentially dirty job. Cosmos Roofing made it look easy. They were in and out in 2 1/2 days with hardly a trace of having been there, except for the gleaming new roof of course! The 20 year guarantee gives you peace of mind that the job was done right. Cosmos Roofing has my highest recommendation.

Both roofing experiences were absolutely great and painless. Additionally, Cosmos gives a 20 year transferable guarantee on labor and materials which is transferable. This means when my mother's house is sold in the near future we have the selling advantage of passing on the the guarantee to the new owners from a family owned company with 37 years experience. I highly recommend them.

Alex and his team at Cosmos (including foreman Tim and hard-working Pedro) did a great job recently putting on a new heavy duty shake roof. I wasn't sure if I wanted comp, steel, or to replace the old shake I had. Alex gave me a quote that included all the options in an easy to understand format, then waited while I went and got other bids (Alex was the first to quote, and I didn't just want to go with the first guy I talked to). After dealing with other roofing companies whose reps worked on commission, it was a pleasure to come back to Alex - and his quote was the best after all! He talked to me again about our options, and I decided to put a shake roof back on. We waited until we had a week of clear weather forecast (this was at the beginning of rainy season), and the crew started the tear-off on Tuesday. Saturday the finishing touches went on, all the clean up was completed, and I had a beautiful new 50 year roof, which will probably outlast me. I walked around with Tim on the roof, and he showed me everthing they did, and ran into (including some dead bee nests! a story in its own for another time). He also gave me the quick roofing 101 tutorial so I could redo my shed roof in the back myself correctly, and the remnants from our job to do it with. I recommended Cosmos roofing to our neighbors in case they wanted to fix or replace their roofs, since I doubt I will ever need another roof on this house! My wife and I were very happy with the service provided.

I was very pleased. So far it is very nice to have my house watertight. They were very considerate to have working here. The owner was on the job each day to checkup, supervise and talk to me a little bit. They were just very pleasant to have working here and went above and beyond to help me. Their price was reasonable and I will use them again in the future.

We got five bids for re-roofing our home. Cosmos Roofing came in with a very competitive bid. We were impressed by Alex's customer service as well as the fact that they were a family run business. The crew, including foreman, Jesus, was very friendly and accommodating. They addressed our concerns in a timely, courteous and professional manner. We had a great experience working with Rich Cosmos of Cosmos Roofing. We interviewed 4 different roofing companies. Rich was the first I spoke to, and he patiently and thoroughly answered all my questions and educated me about the different types of roofing materials, etc. After I spoke to all the roofers, I had MORE questions, and he patiently answered all of those, too. We chose Cosmos Roofing because of their excellent references, lengthy experience with low pitch roofs, and unbeatable 20 year warranty. Rich communicated with us on a regular basis, which was really important since our schedule was interrupted by both rain and overbooked permit inspectors. His team arrived as scheduled, worked hard, and completed work as scheduled, including adding drainage for our sagging garage roof. If anyone asked me who to go to for roofing, I'd send them to Rich Cosmos.

Cosmos did a very professional job. Co-Owner Alex Oceguera guided us through the process from estimate to final inspection, fully answer all of the questions that came up and provided us will very good advice. The price was also very reasonable.

I liked that they worked with me because they thought that may be I would do a roof replacement. Then I explained that I couldn’t afford a roof replacement at the time. So they did a good job of putting together an estimate of what they could do to extend the life of our roof until we could afford it. They stuck to their estimate. The overall experience was great. I was really happy with them. We will definitely use their services again in the future.

After interviewing 4 roofing firms, we selected Cosmos. Family owned company that has been in business for so many years. It was comforting to know they would be there if any problems arose after the installation. Alex, the owner's son, presented all the options for our new roof, gutters, and downspout system and was patient to answer all our concerns and questions. In fact, Alex, returned to our home 3 times to help us with every detail before we signed off on the contract. Their price was in line with 2 of the other firms we had bid. The third firm's bid was an extra $10,000 for the exact product and service. The work crew arrived on time and was very respectful of my landscape and cleaned the property at the end of each day. They did not smoke or play loud music. When the project was complete, they picked up all the stray materials and left the property free of debris. Alex kept us informed of the progress and was always available if we had questions. They handled the final inspection and the approval process was quick and easy. I highly recommend Cosmos. An added bonus was a refund/credit off our final bill because they did not use all the shingles they purchased. I would never have known so their honesty was greatly appreciated and noted.

Rich Cosmos, the owner, came to give the initial quote. I asked him about the material and data sheets for and he provided it to me. Before finalizing the full scope of work and material, he met with me to take input on the build up requirement and the roofing material to finalize the pricing. He never got back to me after the meeting. After 2 weeks I called him and left message on his cell and on his office phones, atleast 5-6 times. The calls were never returned.The roofing contractor is very unreliable. I searched about a 6-8 roofing contractors and gotten the quote from 4 and finally selected to work with Cosmos for build up roof. Though Rich was initially interested in doing the job, he never gotten back to me to finalize the job. Most frustating part was the calls never returned. As a customer when I have difficult time to get them to talk to me, I wonder how good their stated warranties are, given their inability to return a phone call. Bad customer service and worst resposiveness and professionalism in treating potential customers.

We have an Eichler house with a flat roof and it takes real expertise to do them well. Case in point, we tried a first re-roof 4 years ago with a different company and it was a real nightmare: leaks after two years, very poor drainage, etc. Based on excellent reviews here and on Yelp, I asked Rich from Cosmos Roofing to come and take a look. He has a no-nonsense attitude and immediately spotted where the problems were and how they could be solved with some simple changes or additions to the structure. The bid was really reasonable and once the work was started, it was completed quickly (3 days) by a professional crew. I know the work is good from practical experience: interestingly, we had the first significant storm of the season the day after the work was completed (it rained continuously for about 4 days) and the new roof performed flawlessly - no leaks and it drains so well it gets totally dry in no time after the rain stops. I highly recommend Cosmos Roofing to anyone, especially owners of flat roofs.

Cosmos roofing made the process very easy. Alex consulted with us and worked with us to make the best decision for our house. Our emails and phone calls were responded to promptly. From start to finish the job took 3 days. The end result is a beautiful roof that we get compliments on. We are completely satisfied with the results and would highly recommend them.

Fantastic communication, great pricing, quality workmanship, and extremely professional. Cosmos Roofing exceeded my expectations when we hired them to re-roof our flat, tar and gravel, uninsulated roof. Rich and his team re-roofed our house with 3'' foam insulation, tar and white gravel, and new additional down spouts for better drainage. We had water damage to the roofing wood on one side of the house, and they replaced it, matching the existing wood exactly and went above and beyond by filling and sanding the joints, nail/screw divots, and even prime painting all exposed wood. They did the same for the inside wood replacement on our skylight! Don't think twice when wondering if Cosmos Roofing is the right choice when it's time to re-roof. We own an Eichler home in Sunnyvale which went through an extensive remodel about five years ago. Even though the roof is only five years old, the roof near the garage (flat roof) had occasionally leaks, even right after when the new roof was installed. We were not happy with the roofer so we decided to look for another roofer. We got a recommendation to try Cosmos Roofing from our friends who did their remodel last year. We are very happy that we took their recommendation. Rich is great to work with - he is very professional and thorough, has excellent communication skills, and extremely reliable. His team showed up before the scheduled time to prep for the work and finished the work on time. This means a lot to us because our previous roofer was just not reliable or dependable. We are extremely satisfied with the results and wish that we had Cosmos Roofing install our roof five years ago. We are also happy that we finally found a roofing company that we will use again in the future.

I heard nothing. I believe that they should have called to say that the job was too small or updated their voicemail to say that they'd be out of town. Either way, a call back would have been appreciated. I don't flunk this company because they didn't lie or damage anything so my default grade is D.

This was at least the fifth complete roofing replacement I have had Cosmos Roofing do for me, in addition to several preventative maintenance repair jobs. (Not all were on my personal home). At the end of the rainy season, we were moving some boxes in the garage and noticed signs of dry rot and leaking which was traced to termite damage in the rafters and beams. After the termite treatment, I had a choice of replacing part of a 17 year old roof or doing a complete job. Since the entire roof would have to be replaced in several years due to aging, I decided to do it now rather than rip off a relatively new roof. As usual, I obtained several quotes for the job and Cosmos was, once again, the most cost effective. The hardest part of the job was selecting the roofing material. Once it was selected, I coordinated the work with the termite exterminator and the work was accomplished in the scheduled time. Over the years, I have had Cosmos roofing do tar and gravel roofs, repair of roofing trim, down spout work, cedar shake roofs, and now a shingle roof. The only leak I ever had was this one due to termite damage, 17 years after they installed the roof.

Alex came out to assess the job and give an estimate. He came out the same day I called, and brought out sample books to walk me through all of the steps and choices of material. We continued to communicate via email, and he submitted an estimate via email. He seemed knowledgeable and fair, and since he was the first of three to respond, I waited to see what the other roofers had to say. Turns out his estimate was the most reasonable, and they were the easiest to work with, and we scheduled a time for him to perform the job while I was away. The company was really flexible in terms of working around my crazy schedule, but could not finish the work totally while I was gone, since there was unexpected rain (not their fault), but came back and finished up as soon as the weather permitted. They communicated every step of the way, so there were no surprises. I am pleased with the job, and would use them again, although with a 20 year warranty, don't think that will be necessary.

We just got our home re-roofed ( Tar & Gravel) and couldn't have been more pleased with the work done by the Cosmos team. Cosmos team had a robust and comprehensive bid and we feel well-set with their 20 yr warranty and the quality of work that was put in. His crew was a very pleasant team of 5 who were always on-time and finished the job within the proposed timeline. There was no additional disruption and they would thoroughly clean the yard every day to restore it to normal usage. Rich was exceptionally nice all through the process. He would come and check on the work every day. We found more than expected damage once the roof was removed and Rich took care of that at no extra charge to us. Having that kind of flexibility in very helpful and an example of great customer service.

Since that time, Rich Cosmos, the business owner, personally took charge and corrective repairs were made, free of charge, and to my complete satisfaction. Once Mr Cosmos became aware of the problem, it was promptly and courteously completed in a manner that greatly exceeded my expectations. We had to push back the start date twice due to other construction delays. Alex was very understanding and rescheduled the start date. The work started on time and was completed on time. Rich, the estimator, was prompt in returning my first call. He came out and explained our options in detail and provided the quote within a week. The bid included a 20 year warranty which can be transferred once if the house is sold. We went with Cosmos because the price was reasonable, the warranty was great, and Rich seemed professional, trustworthy and knowledgeable. The two leaders of his crew had been with the company for 15 years or more which made me feel extra confident about the kind of job they would be able to do. The house was done right on schedule. It took exactly 3 days as we had been told. The only extra we had to pay over the bid was for replacing some facia boards which were in poor condition and we were consulted about that before they did the replacing. There were no surprises which was a first for us when having any kind of work done on the house.
