From the estimate, when Alex came over to look at the potential job, he was very courteous and well knowledgeable. We had taken a look and gotten five other estimates, and decided to go with him, because of a number of factors including great reviews on angie's list, referral comments from friends, and referral from real estate brokers. Price wise he was competitive, although people will think his prices are above average, but you pay for what you get, and if you are spending tens of thousands, you have to be able to trust and depend on and expect an excellent installation, in which they did provide. Another reason is that Alex is an extremely sharp individual and was able to field all of our questions and did so in a quick and prompt manner. From the first time they started the job, they were always on time, arriving at 8Am and leaving at 7PM for all the days they estimate that they would work on our home. They have five separate roofing teams, but we had Jesus as the lead site manager and he was extremely polite, nice, and worked well. Not only that, but everyday after they finished, they did not drop everything when time was up for the day, but they ended up cleaning up after themselves each day. Which for a home owner, this shows a lot of dedication and hard work. They completed the tasks with all of the roofing and gutter at the time they had originally estimated and even after installation, up until the final city inspection was signed off, they were always prompt and you felt that they were always looking out for the customer. We would highly recommend them using them again and will likely use them again for our roofing needs. They are honest and understand that their business relies upon customer referaals and good quality work to sustain their excellent marks.

I would recommend them. We had a conventional roof on the house we just sold. They did that roof and I was impressed. They had a crew come in that was super, they were fast, quiet, clean, quality work, just marvelous. They also did gutter repair and replacement. They were good about getting the permits and getting the roof inspected. They took care of everything and left the place completely free of nails and debris. They were polite and courteous and understanding. It was a very good experience.

Rich came out to quote the job, and did an excellent job of explaining what needed to be done and demonstrating clear knowledge of the issues around our particular roof. His quote was not the highest or the lowest, but it seemed the most-informed and clearest in what he would do. The crew came out and the demo was fast and messy, but they all are. The crew was professional and did a good job of cleaning up. The wood repair work was done well, no cutting corners, they talked to me to ensure they had replaced everything that looked bad and anything else I wanted replaced. Putting the roof on is a smelly operation, but that's the way it is. They did everything they said they would do. Their repair prices are more than fair - much better than trying to coordinate with a carpenter for that part of the job. After they were done, Rich walked the roof with me and made sure I was happy with the job. And I am happy with the job. If I needed another roof, I would not hesitate to use Cosmos again. Since I expect this roof to last for many years, the best I can do is tell you folks and Yelp users that they did excellent work for me.

Always get more than one contractor coming out. You never know.

We contacted three local roofing companies for a bid, and based on the quotes and experience we had during getting the quotes, we decided to go with Cosmos.They did excellent job with roof, the end result is even better than we were hoping for and job was done very quickly with minimal disruption to our daily life.One of the best things about Cosmos was their personal and honest customer service.They listed to what we want and made us feel like they actually care about the customer. After dealing with some other contractors this was very refreshing and pleasant experience.I'd strongly recommend Cosmos to anyone who needs a new roof for their home.

Cosmos provided a great experience from start to finish. We interviewed 6 companies and while 2-3 fit the bill pretty well, we chose Cosmos as Alex was able to present great product recommendation, along with very fair pricing. The deciding factor was that at the end of the day, we were very comfortable with Alex and his company, we had the feeling that he would do the job right and take care of you if anything went wrong.We were right, from start to finish, the job went like clockwork and the crew was great. I want to point out a few very important details that really went above and beyond expectations, since we were also in the middle of a kitchen remodel. 1. Alex and our contractor coordinated to make sure that their scheduled matched when some framing needed to take place by the contractor. The two groups worked together and worked on separate sides of the roof, while not delaying each other, pretty rare. 2. Cosmos uses their own crews for the entire roof project, vs using an outside tear down crew. These guys are fast and do great work 3. The owners were out a few times during the job to view progress and quality control. These guys are old school, and they taught their crews right. They wont stamp approval until its correct. 4. The other thing I really liked about Cosmos is that their crew is the extended family, its great to see the owners working with the crew hanging with them at break time. They seem to have very happy employees, which usually leads to quality work. 5. As I mentioned we were in the middle of a remodel and had the garage staged with cabinets and other suppies. Cosmos did a good job of cleaning up after they finished, but missed a few areas in the garage, as it was like a maze. When we called to have them come back, they were back within a day and took care of a few small loose ends. Overall, a great experience and great people. Would hire them again in a flash

Alex and his team from Cosmos did a super job for us. The roof went up during a heat wave but that didn’t deter this terrific team. The men were very polite, cleaned up after themselves and even jumped down from the roof to help us bring a heavy T.V. into the house. They were careful not to disturb the neighbors with radios or parked cars. Alex drove the neighborhood to review roofs that I liked and advised us on which colors looked best. The roof looks great. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

They inspected very thoroughly, and gave me a really reasonable quote, compared to 10 other quotes that I got. They are not the cheapest, but they are not the most expensive one. And they have the most detailed proposal. They put everything out front, and there is no hidden cost. They are very professional, efficient, polite, and responsive. After I accept their proposal, they schedule and pull permit for the date I want. Rich explained to me how they are going to proceed the job, and informed me what exactly is going to happen, so I could inform my tenants. And on the start day, everyone is arriving on time, started to work, until finished... Again they are very efficient with the excellent quality of job. They clean up everyday. And they finished all the work earlier than I expected. I don't need to worry a thing, especially it is my first time to work with them, usually I am very careful to work with the contractors for the first time... Cosmos Roofing is the perfect contractor (roofer) that I am dreaming for. And one thing I think it is worth to mention, they are not "money hunger." Cosmos crew arrived Mon July 9, & worked effeciently thru to completition on Fri, July 13. San Mateo County inspected the roof twice, once @ tear off of old roof & again at completition of work.

I had noted over the years certain Palo Alto homes with new, beautifully installed, cedar shake roofs. Upon inquiry, i learned Cosmos Roofing had done the re-roof jobs and determined to use them when my existing roof needed replacement. Alex at Cosmos was informative and otherwise very helpful. Our heavy shake re-roof was beautifuuly done: the materials were first rate and the installation - - including new gutters and downspouts - - was superb. Very satisfied with the result - - exactly what I'd hoped for.

It was a 3 day job from start to finish. Dry rotted wood was also replaced, and some downspouts added.The 1st day at 7 the crew showed up with Rich. He managed the entire installation of the roof, ordered all the materials with the crew chief reporting directly to Rich. The crew cleaned up daily, were prompt and courteous and did a great job.I recommend them when it comes time for a new roof.

Called and left a voicemail asking for a callback and quote. Alex called back next day and arranged to go to property to take measurements and create a quote. Was able to get scheduled to start within a week. Cosmos is always the first I'll call to get a new roof. I've used Cosmos several times, and the workmanship and professionalism has always been outstanding. I love working with Alex, he's a down-to-earth guy that is responsive and easy to deal with. Cosmos has done numerous roofs in our neighborhood, and quite simply, they've made our street look extra good with the beautiful roofs they put on. The job went very smoothly. The crew showed up at 8 and worked until 4 and cleaned up daily. Alex set all our expectations properly, with respect to product types and execution. The pricing was competitive with 2 other bids we got and the professionalism was just great. We highly recommend then and will use them again.

I was very pleased with my experience with the company, from the time Rich first came to give me an estimate on the job to the completion of the work. had gotten estimates from other roofing companies but I selected Cosmos because I trusted Rich, who was very knowledgeable about Eichlers and up front in answering questions and providing explanations, the price was fair with a $500 discount, and I had read excellent reviews about the company.The workers (some have been with the company for decades so were very experienced) were professional and courteous. The job was completed timely and the work area was clean when they left. The roof and related work done has a 20 year guarantee, and I liked that it is transferable one time if the house is sold during the guarantee period. A transfer form was included with the final statement. I highly recommend Cosmos for roofing work.

I want to start by saying that Cosmos team did a great job replacing the roof on my house. When we bought the house we knew that sometime in the future we will need to re-roof the house. It was clear to us that this year it was time. We compared 4 different contractors, all from Angie’s list, thanks Angie. We met each one, spoke to their representatives, asked all the questions and got quotes. Then we chose the final two, Cosmos one of them. Here we did some more homework; went to see several houses that both contractors worked on, negotiated final prices and chose Cosmos. From the beginning Alex, the owner’s son, was very clear at what he was offering. Answered all our questions and eventually when you look at the new roof, everything Alex promised was delivered. When we were uncertain about the type of Shingles, Alex drove to various houses and to call us giving us additional addresses of where we could see the roofs. He came to our house several times when we wanted to see more samples and was very patient to our inquiries. When there was an issue to resolve, Alex immediately called us. He really went beyond to what I had expected. The Cosmos team was very professional and the results look amazing. After every working day they left the premises clean and I was very pleased to see how they had someone scan the grounds with a special magnet for hours to remove all the nails and debris. Bottom line, we are very satisfied with the work provided by Cosmos and Alex and highly recommend that you choose them for your next roofing project.

It went extremely well. I was very nervous at first - my previous experience with a construction project didn't go as well and I am afraid that I took it out on Rich. That nervious energy was waste of time. Rich has put together a very good crew. They are careful and responsive. Rich is very detailed and I knew exacty what was needed for the project including any possible issues. They were on time and the job was completed on schedule. What an unexpected delight. The site was cleaned up each day. I really like the idea that there is a 20 year guarentee. Both buildings are small and I honestly didn't think that it was going to be as expensive as it was but I have to say that I have every confidence that if anything should happen to the roof, they will be there to take care of it.. That kind of peace of mind is worth a lot. This is a great company to work with. I highly recommend them.

This is the second time we used Cosmos. The first time, they did a very professional job of replacing the entire roof. They came on time, finished on time and did a very good job. This time the electrician tore up the roof and it started leaking. We called Cosmos and he came right away and patched the roof up in record time.

I had put off getting a new roof as long as I could. I dreaded finding a contractor and dealing with the mess. I interviewed several contractors and decided on Cosmos because Alex was very professional, the family-owned business has been around over 30 years, and he said they could complete the job in 4 days. I appreciated they cleaned up their mess at the end of each day, and true to his word they were finished in less than 4 days. I am a bit of a perfectionist, but Alex wasn't put off by that and made sure I was entirely satisfied. It's nice to know there are still businesses with such integrity. AND the roof looks great!!

The crew was there exactly at 8am every day and cleaned up very well daily.They had direct contact with Richard by cell phone at all times. Everything went just as planned and the inspector even commented on how this company does a great work on Eichler roofs. The roof has stood the test of the weather and never ha leaked. Easy estimating and learning process. We settled on the price and timeline very easily. We were put into the schedule right away. On the first day, Alex re-explained the process, double checked the precise roof materials I wanted, and introduced me to his courteous crew. All was 'a go' The project was off to a FLYING start!
