W.L. Dunn (Willard) did our neighbor's house and we knew when we saw there house, that he was who we wanted to do our kitchen. He doesn't take on too many jobs which enables him to better manage and catch all the details along the way. He always answers his phone or gets back to you quickly. He came up with some great design features we would never think of, such as automatic lighting that comes on/off as we enter/leave our new pantry. He does a great job designing planning and overseeing the work as it progresses. He even joined us at our meeting with the cabinet designer at Home Depot. His sub-contractors were equally good and helpful and responsive. The new kitchen turned out better than we expected. Our old kitchen had a drop down ceiling so the open ceiling in the new kitchen really opened it up and tied in nicely with the rest of the house. We were out of our kitchen for about five to six months, and utilized our garage and bathroom for that time. Not fun, but a necessary evil.
Description of Work: The work included an addition (8 feet by 20 feet) to my kitchen and and eat-in casual dining area. No bathroom work was done. The area was about 18 by 18. We moved our entrance from the dining area around the corner to replace the area with desk area adjoining the kitchen with matching cabinetry. The old drop ceiling was removed and a new vaulted ceiling was framed that tied in with the vaulted ceiling in the family room and hall area. Lighting was also added to the family room and the entire bottom floor (dining, living, family and kitchen areas) had wood flooring added. The job also included a new 22 x 7 foot deck and concrete patio. The whole house was re-roofed and painted. Extras also include finish work to the living, dining and family rooms, extending utilities for future yard improvements. In connection with the job we also upgraded the electrical panel from a 100 amp service to 200 amp service.
