Franco Tree Service & Yard Clean-ups

I called for an appointment on Friday, the following Monday was available. They arrived on time and cut down both trees without incident. The agreement was to cut the large branches into firewood, and wood-chip the rest. My only complaint is that a few large chunks of the trunk should have been cut further, so as to fit into a fireplace. I got 100 pieces of perfectly cut firewood, but 3 or 4 gigantic pieces, that I had to cut on my own later.

After reading the reviews for Franco's I decided to give them a call. I left a message and was called back the same day. I texted a picture of the stump I needed to have GONE, and received an estimate that evening. We made arrangements for them to come do the work on a Fri. Franco arrived on time and got right to work. Took about 2 hrs to get that monster gone. I will be using them again.

After coming out and giving me an initial quote, I never saw them again. I called them a few times and left messages on Angies List; however, I never heard from them. I'm guessing that perhaps there was some misunderstanding of the project and costs involved; however, since I didn't hear from them again, I'm only guessing.

Franco came out to give us estimates and to take a look at/assess the job. We decided to go with him as his bid was the most reasonable, and we really liked him. The job was done exactly as promised, and his team of 4, did a fantastic job with our trees. Our yard looks so great now. Our neighbors all down the lane have two thumbs up for him and his team too. So happy to know of a great tree care company.

Crew was prompt and efficient. No problems encountered at all. Recommended to our neighbors.

The owner showed up and did the grinding up of the stump. Hauled away the debris and cleaned up the area pretty well. Good job for the price he charged. Would definitely use them again for future tree removal.

It was very difficult to get a hold of them. I left messages but didn't get a call back. I finally got a hold of someone and made an appointment. The person had a very strong accent so it was difficult to communicate. We finally managed to get an appointment. The work they did was satisfactory but I ended up paying more than what was posted on Angie's List. Again if was hard to communicate because of a strong accent and I believe his ability to understand when I asked about the fee. I finally gave up and paid the amount because I felt it was fruitless to keep going over it. I do not believe he was overcharging me on purpose. It was simply a matter of him not understanding. He was a very nice man. I really can't remember the date or the money I just put something in the required field so it could be accepted.

It went fine, Franco performed the work on time and with no surprises. Exactly what we wanted.

They were a little late from the original appointment time, however they did call to let me know. They did a great job on grinding down the tree trunk. He even placed a shield around where he was grinding to protect flying debris from hitting the nearby cars (I really appreciated that).

I bought a big deal $99.00 for $200.00 worth of service but I negotiated to do some extra work which is covered in the above paragraph. I bought the deal on 7/16/14. I received a call back two days later and had the work done on Wed the 23rd. So a very quick turnaround. The crew of three arrived even a bit early which was great and spent aprox 4 hours to do the pruning. The majority of the work was done on a big olive tree. It was a hive of busy activity. Ok the work was done quickly, but in some instances there was some trampling of plants. I had a nice collection of succulents around the olive tree, some got trampled on and I had to replace one. I had a bird feeder but on cutting one limb, the crew did not notice it was there and it came tumbling down and the chain to hold it in place broke. On the oleander tree several strawberry plants got trampled too. ugghh The crew of three worked well but at the end they had to rush off, Mr Franco inspected the work which overall was very good but in leaving early there was just too much leaves and branches on the ground and in the tree. It took me three hours to get everything back to normal. Talk about slight aggravation.! :(

Franco Tree Service was polite and professional. They did a very good job with the pruning, including not taking too much off the trees as a prior service had done. Franco's shaped the trees/bushes with care and a sense of aesthetics, with was greatly appreciated. They cleaned up the yard fully and removed all the debris, so the yard looked great after they had left.

They came out to give an estimate and informed us that the deal had expired. My mother needs this work done so we are using them but not this deal. As for me, I would not hire them again.

We purchased a big deal from Angie's list for $200 worth of services for $99. Mrs. Franco called us in a few days and we set up an appointment for the same afternoon to get an estimate for the work we needed done. Mr. Franco was right on time. We had other work going on in our yard, so we asked if he could come back in about a week to do the work. He provided us with an estimate of $300 for all the work, which I found very reasonable. So, with the big deal from Angie, it only cost us $199 total. He did a great job removing the unwanted stump and bushes and hauled the debris away. HIs team cleaned up and the yard looked great when they left. I will definitely use his services again when we need tree trimming or yard cleanup.

Did a nice job. Was on time and cleaned every thing up. Very reasonably prices as well. I would high recommend these people.

No complaints. Franco's guy came by on time to assess the work and arrange a time for the work. The work was done as specified and on time.

I called sunday late morning not expecting a reply until monday but got a call back sunday late afternoon. Scheduled a quote for monday morning and arrived on time at 8am. Service performed the following day with a crew of 5 people. They did excellent work carefully and methodically trimming the tree to prevent any damage to limbs falling on the house or any other structures. They also did an excellent job cleaning up everything. Highly recommend them and plan to use them again in the future for maintaining all these trees.

It went very well. They were quick and did them exactly what I asked them to do.

We needed some small trees pruned, dead trees cut down, stumps ground, foliage removed. We got several competitive bids- $1800, $2000, even nearly $4000. Mr Franco came by right on time, was extremely professional and assessed the job- for half the price of the competition. Did quality suffer? Not at all! The yard looks great, they cleaned up everything and we couldn't be happier. We'd give them an A+ if we could!

I had a mixed experience. The deal made it look like a good deal, but compared to other companies, it was priced higher. The $400 value would've gotten me more services with a different company.

The deal is expiring and I requested a refund.

They were good in communication. They were on time and very efficient. It was perfect.

It went very well. Last weekend I called Franco tree service. They came by sunday for a quote, which was reasonable, so we agreed to friday for doing the work. I came home this morning from out of town, and arrived just as they finished. All the work we agreed on was completed, and it looks good.

In September 2013, I emailed Maria Franco to say I had purchased a "Big Deal"for their tree service and asked whether I needed to get a city permit or would they get the permit from the city for me to cut the tree down. She replied by email that I was to get the permit which I did and paid $250. in case I cut the tree down if it was not diseased. On Oct. 3rd I called but could not reach them by phone so emailed Maria to set up some dates. I said any day the first two weeks of November or the first two weeks of Dec. would work out for me. Maria Franco wrote an email saying in answer to my question that yes, I needed to get the city permit. The city arborist said the tree was healthy so I decided not to cut it down but I did have a stump I wanted removed so I contacted Ms. Franco by email because she does not answer her phone calls nor has she answered my emails since Oct. 3rd. I made several phone calls between September 2013 and the last of many calls I made on January 7, 2014 to ask if they could come the first two weeks of February. I also called Angie's and spoke with Alyshia Smalley telling her that I did not know what to do if the Franco Tree Service will not contact me and I felt that I would no longer try to contact Franco Tree Service and I would like my deposit of $199. back from them so I requested the forms I would need for that. Hence, this questionnaire is being sent to you. I hope this can be resolved quickly. Thank you. H.Y.amada

They mainly cut a unsafe tree for me. They are parts of root of that tree which were hidden under a bush, Franco said as part of the service he will be back to grind those parts of the root when I remove the plants. that was nice promise, I plan to remove those plants and call him in late Jan. I will let you know if he does come back to finish the job.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was okay. I spent an additional $450. It was just neutral; nothing good or bad. They cleaned up well afterwards. They did what was needed. I might use them again in the future.
