It then turned out that we could not use the substitute I bought for the bullnoses. However, I found something else that would work perfectly at a local Home Depot and decided that I should return the items that we could not use to Sunbright. When I talked to Jose Lopez, who is the owner of Sunbright, he said he would accept the returns but there will be a 25% re-stocking fee. I argue that this is unfair since I had not been informed of this fee prior to the purchase. He said charging the re-stocking fee on returned items is a standard practice in the tile business and I should have known about it. He also said I was at fault because I have no experience and hired a contractor with minimal experience. At the end of our conversation, he pointed out that there is a clause in the invoice about this fee and I should have read it before signing. Personally, I do not have problem with re-stocking fee, if it had been communicated clearly before the purchase. In this case, it was not.
Description of Work: Sunbright sold me the tiles. I had a small project to put in new tiles in the kitchen and the bathroom countertops and floors. I had no experience with tiling and no knowledge about the tile business. The contractor I was using did not have much experience either. When I was looking for the tiles, I went to Sunbright and was very impressed with the sales lady. She was very helpful and friendly. I let her know that the tiles will be for the countertops and there was a concern that the tiles I picked out do not have the bullnose. The sales lady found a substitute that she said would work perfectly. I bought the tiles and the substitute for bullnoses for $1,200. The sales person also said when I signed the invoice that it's OK with Sunbright if I wanted to return the tiles.
