I needed a dog run set up before I moved into my house so I called Carl to request a quote. He show up right on time for our meeting, and faxed me a quote for the job the next day. Foothill Fence wasn't the cheapest quote I received, but I felt comfortable that he would get the job done when I needed it, and make sure it was done correctly. Carl's guys showed up on time and did the job very quickly. Fence looks great, feels sturdy, and everything was cleaned up around the area good as new. Highly recommened.

Foothill fence exceeded our expectations in every way. The fence is so beautiful!!! It was exactly what we asked for only better. Carl and his crew were extremely professional from start to finish. We recommend them very highly!! Carl was by far the most professional of the 4 contractors we interviewed. He arrived on time, was very friendly and easy to communicate with. He got back to us with an estimate when he said he would and it was very reasonable! It was a no brainer to hire him. Carl's crew worked very hard, and were surprisingly quiet and unobtrusive. They were extremely professional. The fence went right up in approximately 51/2 business days. We love our fence. Hire them!

Carl was knowledgeable about fencing and very helpful in discussing our needs. We had removed a broken concrete wall between our house and our neighbors and wanted to replace it with a redwood fence. Carl gave us bids for a standard fence and also a board-on-board fence. We chose the board-on-board for the extra privacy it affords. We also had them install a 10 ft. long self-closing iron gate for the pool area. The workers were on time, polite and did a beautiful job. We feel that the work done was worth the money paid and we would definitely use this company again.

I was very impressed with them. He sent me a text estimate for two quotes, depending on how big the fence was going to be. I called him on a Monday and he told me he could be out by Wednesday. He showed up exactly as promised on that day and spent a half hour with me. He analyzed the situation, made a few suggestions, and answered my questions. He was very knowledgeable. He sent me the estimates promptly.

They are the greatest. With all the rain and dealing with a fence between two properties they were accomodating and polite regarding neighbors dogs and children. Our old wood fence had buckled during the rain and was ready to come down. Carl, the owner, is an angel to work with. They were neat and cleaned up every day. The fence is beautiful. I would have liked it if they had sanded the top of the little picket fence gate, though.

The hinges on my vinyl privacy gate were broken and the gate was pulling away from the two posts it was connected to and the entire gate was sagging on the driveway and had to be manually lifted to open or close so I could get my car out. I called several gate/fence contractors to give me estimates on the repair. Each one said it was a very poor job to begin with and they didn't know how it could be repaired. None of them could do it. Carl said the same thing except he was so sympathetic and so sorry he couldn't help me. So when I decided I would have to replace the entire gate instead, he was the first one I called back to get an estimate for complete replacement. When he arrived, rather than give me a price, he examined the gate again and said there must be something he can do to fix it and wanted to think about it some more. He came up with a plan. Came back in a couple of days with the material and equipment and fixed my gate! He did what at least six contractors said couldn't be done. He saved me over $1,000. He called me in a few days to make sure everything was o.k. and that the electric motor contractor was able to adjust the motor. But that's not the end of it. During our recent storms (January), the hurricane strength winds forced the gate open and broke the bracket that is welded into the gate from the motor and is the arm that swings the gate. I couldn't open the gate, straighten the arm or pull it off from the gate. I couldn't get my car out of my driveway. The motor contractor wouldn't come out until the rains had stopped. I finally called Carl and explained the situation even though I knew fixing this was not his area of work. He came over almost immediately and dismantled the motor from the gate and the gate was free. When the rains stop, I will get the electric motor person out to hopefully weld it back. This was way above and beyond the call of duty for Carl. He wouldn't even accept payment for a service call. He said people don't help each other enough, and I needed help. I really don't know what I would have done without him. Can't say enough about what a fine person he is.

The work came off very nicely and they did a good job. There was no problem and they did everything as promised. They did what they said they would do. I would use them again in future, if needed.

Carl came out to assess what we needed. He took the time to listen to my request. The original estimate was really high so we discussed the project again and settled on a much smaller job. The price still seemed a little high, but all of the Angie's list ratings were good and I didn't want to bother with taking the time to get competitive quotes. They came out today and finished the project quickly. The work looks good.

Had 3 estimates for this job. Foothill Fence was in the middle. Carl came out to give me an estimate for vinyl or wood fencing. We settled on wood, because of the dollar. I had to wait a few months to build my fund for the fence and he waited patiently. When I was finally able to go ahead, he was able to get a crew on it withing 2 days and finished the job within two days. They did not bother the tenant and worked very hard and did a professional job. Being a woman, it looks superb, very stong and will last longer than me. When checking the finished job, I felt that a bit more clean up was required and let Carl know that. He was very accomodating and will have his men come back out to do clean up.

Jerry Leaper came to look at the job and give us an estimate. He was funny, droll, knowledgeable - a delight. As promised, an estimate came by fax the next day clearly outlining the job. Once that was accepted, a date was given for the work to be done. Two workers (Lorenzo being the main one) arrived, as planned, and completed the job that day. They managed to work amongst many plants and obstacles in the garden and not damage anything. When finished, they cleaned the area thoroughly. The fence looks great - we paid exactly what was estimated - and we couldn't be happier. I would definitely use this company again and recommend them to a friend.

I spoke with Carl at Foothill fence, and he came out to give me an estimate. Of the four estimates that I received, his was one of the two least expensive. (Another company had given me an estimate that was 3000 dollars more than his.) Once the work began, his workers were prompt and thorough. They worked quickly to demolish the existing fence. They also erected a temporary fence around my yard while the new fence was being constructed. The construction of the new fence took four days, which is what Carl said it would take. The new fence is very sturdy and the gates are all well-positioned. I would absolutely recommend Foothill Fence to anyone looking into having a vinyl fence installed. Two other facts about Foothill Fence: 1) the workers spoke English, so it was easy for me to communicate with them. 2) There were no surprise charges that came up during the installation - all work was completed for the price of the original estimate.

They were very competent and their price was reasonable. They knew what they were doing and they did it.

Carl came to our home to survey the yard that we needed to have fenced. Later that day, he faxed a detailed sketch of the work work to be done, and provided an estimate that was thousands of dollars less than the two other companies that bid the project. He waited for us as we had to get homeowner association approval to install the fence and checked in with us to make sure everything was going smoothly. In the meantime, we discovered a rotted deck post that needed to be replaced. Again, Carl (having noted the post when we surveyed the yard for the fence) was able to give us an estimate below other contractors. We had him and his crew replace the post. It was quick, painless, and done right! After getting approval for the fence, Carl scheduled the installation within a few days. His guys showed up exactly when they said they would and completed the installation faster than they estimated. The quality of the work is solid. The guys were professional and friendly. The fence looks great!

Based upon ratings in Angie's list, I called Foothill Fence for an estimate. Mr Carl Arentz set an appointment, showed up on time and reviewed the potential job with me. He made good suggestions, and showed me a photo album of previous jobs he completed. This was helpful in choosing the type of wood, and style fence I wanted. Foothill's bid came in at a reasonable cost, and I set an appointment for the work to be done. Carl's crew showed up at the appointed time, worked diligently and professionally and completed the job in one full day. I am very happy with the finished product and would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Great contractor. Carl came by at the expected time for the estimate, and was available to answer additional questions over the phone. He faxed an estimate over within a day and we scheduled a start time. Workers came on time and were professional, fast and tidy. Workers dismantled existing fence, dug up old concrete and hauled it all away. Workers had to trim some of my and my neighbors plants away from fence area. Then new "postmaster" posts were set in cement. Next day, stringers and boards were attached. Job was finished in 2 half days ? faster than I expected.

Carl was very professional, he came out and gave us a prompt estimate. His workers came out five days later and were finished within a few hours. They did not leave any sort of mess behind at all.

It was a great experience. Carl's prices are reasonable and competitive. He came and looked at what I needed to have done and the work was completed with professional excellence and timeliness by Andrew. The entire process from initial phone contact, to estimate, to finished work was a breeze.

As described by my husband: Foothill Fence, a Cinderella company amongst shady step sister fence companies. We needed a simple railing installed leading to our front porch. One company didn?t even measure the porch, but quoted about $700 above Foothill?s quote. Another ugly step sister company was cheaper than Foothill, but was not reliable and backed out of the job last minute. A horrible deadline approached from our wicked home owner insurance agent. All coverage would be lost unless the railing could magically appear before sundown (Thursday). Suddenly Foothill fence stepped in to save the day, installing our railing in a single morning. They were efficient, clean and laughed at some of my stale jokes. Better yet, we beat the wicked agent?s deadline by days. The glass slipper fit perfectly. Our once death trap of a porch, turned into a lovely princess (OSHA safe walkway). Foothill Fence, the railing and our home lived happily ever after.

I have 5 gates in my yard, all were in various states of disrepair. Carl was very prompt and responsive when I contacted him. I told him I wanted to replace all 5 gates, but he said that all 5 could be repaired if I wanted--it depended on what I preferred. I opted to go with his recommendation and had him repair 4 of the 5, and replace the other. He gave me a detailed, written estimate in a timely manner. We scheduled a date for him to come out the following week. His people came out and did 98% of the work, but ran out of a couple of pieces of material, so they couldn't finish it that day. Carl promptly called and informed me of this and said they would be back out on a date certain. That date came, and it rained, so Carl again called me, unnecessarily apologizing, and said they'd be back after the rain passed, and they were. The work is good, the price is reasonable, and the service is outstanding.

I have worked with Carl @ Foothill Fencing before and again, he was prompt returning calls, coming to give me an estimate, and answering all my questions. If he was going to be late for an appointment, he would always call. Three of his workers arrived promptly and completed the work in one day. All three were pleasant and easy to work with.

We were very pleased with Foothill Fence. They finished the job in 1-2 weeks. They did excellent work and we are very pleased both with the quality of the fence and the finished appearance. They were very good at cleaning up after themselves too. They were easy to communicate with and were always very responsive to what we wanted. They were on time and worked efficiently. They even put up temporary chainlink so our neightbors dogs would not get loose. We wouldl use them again and highly recommend them. Their prices are fair. They are neither the cheapest nor the most expensive, but you get a very good quality product for the price.

Everything went fine. They finished the job quickly.

We called Foothill Fence to come out and bid on the project which happened within 2 days. Carl, the owner, came out and was on time and very professional. He answered all of our questions and brought a book with his work in it. We chose redwood and the style of fence we wanted to be built. About a month later when we needed the work done, Carl had us on the schedule within a few days and the work was completed and the quality was fantastic. We will use this company again. Thanks, Carl

Carl promptly returned my phone message and agreed to come and measure for a new gate. He advised he would fax me a contract which I could fax back and he agreed to have it installed on the day I requested. Two guys came to install the gate and it began to downpour. They stayed as long as they could the day before Thanksgiving but had to return as the rain won. Two other people came out the day after Thanksgiving to finish the job. They did a great and professional job.

We called Foothill Fence and they were able to come out for an estimate within a few days. They were willing to be flexible with the bid appointment to accommodate our work schedules. The work came in exactly as bid, exactly per the price and specifications agreed upon. The fence installers were very professional--we didn't feel the need to hang around the house while they worked. It took two days to install the fence given the difficult terrain. The work was excellent, on time and on price. The price was slightly more than the other bids we received, but within same range. The professionalism and quality was worth a few dollars extra.
