Camarillo Repair Service

It turned out that there was a Freon leak that could not be repaired. I had to buy a new refrigerator.

A prior plumber (who I will not use again) charged for a call and told me it was an appliance issue. As it turned out, it was a clogged aerator (a plumbing issue) and a very simple fix.

Took too long. Would not provide receipts and would not honor 20 percent off.

Very well. Preston returned my call within 5 minutes. Arrived earlier than expected and got right to work. Diagnosed immediately and corrected the problem with 45 minutes. Preston was very courteous, prompt, knowledgeable and got the job done promptly and efficiently. I would definitely call him for any other repairs I may need.

They got the door apart and new lock put back in about one hour.

On a scale 1 to 10 it was probably a rating of a 5.

I made an appointment for a technician to come out and check on my refrigerator when it wasn't cooling the freezer or fridge. They said someone would come out the next day between 3:30 and 5:30. At 5:25, I called and the person said that they were busy and will come out at 6:00pm. At 6:00 I called and that person said that he was going to another location and I will be the last stop. He said that he would diagnose the problem then fix it tomorrow since I had to be some where at 7pm. First of all, if I hadn't called the 1st or 2nd time, I don't know if I would've gotten a call that someone was going to be late or even come to check on my freezer at all. It's already been 1 whole day that the freezer/fridge is not working and my food will be spoiled. I wish that I could speak to the owner of the company so I can tell them what's going on, but when I call the business number, the technican answers. After finding out that I had cancelled the service, the technician called to apologize. I'm sorry but it was too late.

See above, all went very well. The technician arrived on time and went right to work. He explained what he was going to do and what steps he was going to take to correct the problem. We were concerned that we would have to replace the dishwasher (it was 8 months old!) but he fixed us up in a jiffy.

I called Camarillo Appliance based on their Angie's List ratings and was somewhat dissapointed. I believe that I spoke to Preston who set an appointment for between 10AM and 11AM the next day. When he didn't show by 12 noon, I called again and was told by the person I spoke to that he couldn't find my name on his work order list. He said he would contact Preston and call me back. He called back in about 15 minutes and said he couldn't get ahold of Preston and would send another technician who would arrive between 1PM and 3PM. The technician, Jose, arrived at about 1:30, rapidly diagnosed the problem as a blown fuse. He replaced the fuse and got the dryer working again. I was pleased with his work. The cost of the service call was about average but the fuse cost of $45 seemed a bit excessive. Overall I was pleased with the work and might consider using them again in the future.

Preston arrived promptly at 2:30PM right on time! He took a look at the cooktop and said liquid probably got into the circuit while cooking and caused the problem. He removed all the knobs and inspected the cooktop. He cleaned the knobs and the gas burners, checked all the circuits and contacts and cleaned and checked the spark igniters. He plugged the unit back in and turned on each gas burner and they all worked perfectly!!! Total elapsed time about 30 minutes and everything was working great. I would highly recommend Camarillo Appliances and Preston, the owner. He is not some huge conglomerate that sends out anyone and hopes they do a decent job. It is his business and he is very professional and wants to earn your respect so you'll tell other people to use his services!! I was very happy with his service and fair price and would gladly use him again.

The washer required a new computer board, cost was approximately $300.00. The washer was purchased in 2001, so it was not feasible to repair the washer. We decided not to go ahead with the repair and purchased a new unit.

He quickly figured out the cooler part needed, ordered it and was back week later to install. We liked his advice on the fridge - basically to monitor it as it hasn't failed yet. He wasn't out to overcharge us.

Excellent repair of the freezer. The price for the call was $55. The parts cost was $76. That seemed high for a relay.

The water hose was replaced due to a leak. He came on time and had to drive somewhere close to buy the hose from a parts provider. The job was finished in less than 90 minutes. I have no idea what a hose costs but the fee seemed reasonable.

Preston was great and a real gentleman. I had been through two other repair services, including Kitchenaid with less than satisfactory results. The evaporator fan was constantly recycling and eventually the unit failed. The unit needed a new motherboard but the biggest problem was that the motherboard factory was destroyed in the Japan earthquake so you can only have the board rebuilt, there are no new ones available! Shame on Kitchenaid as this refrigerator is only 7 years old. It was a nightmare problem that Preston helped us through with a rental fridge and so far the repair is holding. Great company!

My dryer stopped working a couple a days ago - did not dry clothes. Technician found that my dryer needed a fuse. Excellent service and very honest. Will definitely use again.

They arrived on time. Even called ahead to tell us a more exact time to expect them in the hour window they had given us. Found the problem, fixed it in a reasonable time and were on their way. Personable repairman.

It took about a week for them to be able to come out. They couldn't come anytime that was mutually convenient. So, I had to wait 5 days until a Sat - they gave me a 2 hour window and showed up after that time. Tried to not come at all... Then a part had to be ordered. That didn't come in on time, so three more days with no washer. I was so happy when I thought the washer was fixed! No more leaky washer all over my nice floors. Alas - The new pan just helped keep the leaky water IN. Called them on Wed. They said they could come out Friday or Sat.! Really - do these folks think you can just go without an appliance that long? Perhaps Preston is the only technician, but that schedule does not work for me. I will call someone elsein the future.

He was very pleasant and friendly, and seems to know about all the appliances in your home. It's great to be able to call the same person no matter what is broken. I thought the price was reasonable.

The tech explained what he was doing during the entire repair process. He was informative and made the repairs necessary.

Repairman was to come today 1/15, and said he would be here between 12-2 PM. I waited and waited....then I waited some more. I stayed at home. He did not call, and he did not show up. I had a Realtor that wanted to show my home at that time, and I asked him to also wait. As of the time I wrote this, 3:27 PM, he still has not called or stopped by. If he did, I would politely turn him away. I plan to give my business to someone else at this point. This is unfortunate because I like to hire people in my own City (Camarillo) to keep the city thriving and encourage small business. I went with him even though I had a coupon for another place. Even on the phone I sensed he was having a hard time as I had to repeat my name and address several times, and he was repeating it back to me incorrectly. He seemed hard of hearing. I am military, and 15 minutes early is on time to me. I do not feel like a valued customer. I hope this review helps someone make the right decision.

I had an appointment between 12 - 2 with Preston. He was late. He was caught in a 6 hour freeway traffic jam on a VERY HOT July day (poor guy). He could understandable have rescheduled, but he showed up at 5 anyway. He was friendly and in a good mood. He showed my husband how to take the top off the machine. He then tried several simple checks on the hoses etc. before he put in the new valve (which he had with him) and made sure the machine worked. I feel we received good service from Preston and Camarillo Appliances. They were knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I will use the again if I have another problem.

They were prompt, honest, and did the work for a fair price. They came right out and did a great job. I was very happy with their services.
