Two Girls From Carmel

2 Girls has always arrived with a good attitude and good service. When I lived in other places, housecleaning services always seemed to be doing work with blazing speed and little attention to detail. That has not been my experience with 2 Girls. I like them and I like the results.

Our experience with Two Girls from Carmel was excellent. Our house cleanter did not speak English, but we managed to convey any specific cleaning requests to her. The company did an excellent job.

They were very good. They are very good at organizing. They were excellent.

It always goes well. My cleaner is quiet and works hard and steadily. If she finishes early or I'm gone on vacation, she looks for additional work to do. I come home to a cleaned out, sparkly refrigerator, or re-folded and stacked sweaters. Sometimes I see her sweeping my front yard or something else I never asked or expected her to do.

We have employed the services of Two Girls from Carmel since 1990---more than twenty-two years and wouldn't dream of using anyone else. After a couple of conversations with the Manager, I scheduled a Spring cleaning of a studio apartment and gave the Manager my work number to contact me as my cell was on the fritz. I was to meet the Manager and the crew at the apartment, for which I scheduled time off work. I went to the apartment and they did not show up. I called and the Manager told me she'd left a message on my cell (which I had told her not to use!) to confirm the appointment. I chalked this up to miscommunication and rescheduled the cleaning because I'd heard good things about this service. The day of the appointment I met the Manager and crew (2 women) at my apartment, gave the Manager (who was interpreting for the 2 women) clear instructions of what was to be done. The Manager repeated it back to me, then translated to the women. The arrangement was for 4 to 6 hours of thorough cleaning at $25/hr, including specific tasks such as inside cabinets, light fixtures and bookshelves. The housecleaners got started and I returned to work. When I returned home form work, half of what I'd asked to be done had not been. What was done was done OK but certainly not the thorough cleaning I'd scheduled. My calls to the company were not returned and then I received a bill for 6 hours of cleaning! I sent a check for what I deemed fair for the work that was actually done, along with a letter explaining the payment and the reason I was dissatisfied. The check was cashed but I never heard from them.

We love them. The same person comes every week, so you don't always get somebody new coming to your home. They are very conscientious and they do a good job cleaning. They are friendly with our cats. It is all very nice. We big fans of TWO GIRLS FROM CARMEL.

I would say that the owner that shows up with the cleaning lady is a bit rude. This was confirmed to me when I called to cancel the service, very passive aggressive on the phone. She treated her employee kind of rudely in front of me, that seemed unprofessional. The billing department is slow, took a long time to get bill. Overall I would say that they are acceptable as a company, tough PR needs some brushing up.

The person in charge showed up. We gave her a layout of our place and she left her co-worker there for 4 hours.
