Natale's are professionals. They don't mess around. They don't tell you that you need something when you don't. And they tell you everything that needs to be fixed. They fixed the engine. Mark did it. He put a new one in, started it up, and something went wrong with it after about 2 minutes, he diagnosed it immediately, and within a day -- we had called the place that originally sold me the engine (I ordered it myself) and as it turns out (I bought the in June, because it looked good, it sounded good, and they stood behind their warranty 100%. None of this Chinese garbage. They guaranteed it for 7 years, or 70,000 miles, and a honored that guarantee. They were great. I would buy another engine from them in a heartbeat.) We put that new baby in, and after a little while (I had to get used to it) she purrs like a kitten. Ohhh Doogie! Natale's installed a Hearst shifter, short throw, and that took some getting used to. I can now drive the Corvette, as a Corvette was meant to be driven. She's fast. She corners like there's no tomorrow. I love her; she's my baby. Watch out: I also bought the car, used, with those silly digital gauges. Don't even think of it. If the guy has 'em, make him get rid of them before you buy the car. I hated those f**king things. You could never tell how fast you're going, or how quickly the engine was turning, so I had Natale's do some custom work. Man!! these guys do custom work like there's no tomorrow. Anything you want, they can do. You just tell them what you want done, and they set to work on it. And if they can't do it, they will recommend someone who can. So they redid my entire gauge system. Billy, who's in charge of that stuff, he made a custom panel -- one for the tach and the speedo, and one for the clock, voltage, oil pressure, temperature, and one other thing I can remember. They reinstalled my stereo system for me. The thing I like about Natale's is that if a part comes in, and there's one little thing wrong with it, they send it back and get you one that's perfect. "Poppa Joe" is always there, and he knows just about everything there is to know about cars, and if he doesn't, he sends you to someone who does. They recommend things, and if you've got some bright idea in your head that you want something like headers or side pipes or something like that, they'll tell you right off "I wouldn't do it. You'll just be wasting your money, and the car won't run any better. Save your money." Listen, I'm not a gear-head. I just put the key in, and it goes. And after having Natale work on it, I have all the confidence in the world, that for the next 7 years, that car will run like a top. I have also been to them for suspension work, brake work, alignments, and other sordid and dirty jobs that I have little or no knowledge about. So that's what I think of Natale's. You get what you pay for with them. Not a penny more and not a penny less. And the service is impeccable. They always do extra things like they when you spend a lot of money there, give you a chrome air filter for free They always answer the phone. You can go down at any time, and see how your car is doing (or not doing, as the case may be). They always have time for all your questions. I think they're a friendly, knowledgeable, good group of about 7 guys, who really know their way about classic cars. I have no second thoughts about giving them my highest recommendation to anyone on the Monterey Peninsula who asks me "where do you take your car". (And I asked the people in my auto club who they thought was the best mechanic on the peninsula. They all recommended some twit, who didn't "feel" like working on my car because it was old. He did a rotten job. And I would never go back to him.) Natale's is the place in Monterey where you want to bring your car and have it fixed right. The first time. Every time. The place is very large, with 5 or 6 bays, all with lifts, and all pretty much all waiting to do repairs on your car. The personnel are friendly, smile when they talk to you, and shake your hand. They really make you feel welcome. Even the boss, "Papa Joe," comes over to meet you and make you feel at home. Now I know nothing about cars. But the mechanics at Natale's are geniuses. These guys took my whole differential apart, replaced one of the pinion yokes, and did some other stuff in the differential. Then, when they were through with that, they replaced my old worn-out shock absorbers, and put in these 4 -- beautiful it the only thing I can say -- Bilstein shock absorbers, that made the Corvette ride like it was brand-new. You could have just driven the car off the showroom lot. It was sweet!!! They did all that and a whole lot more for under 3 grand. I'd recommend these guys to anyone. For old classic cars, these guys can't be beat.

I chose Natale's because I had just finished a cross-country trip and needed to have my brakes serviced. Because the brakes were recently changed it was under warranty and my insurance provider recommended Natale's. It took almost two weeks just to get an appointment. Once they were able to service my truck it took them five days to complete the repair. It should have been a simple brake pad change. First, they ordered the wrong pads. Then they said they needed to turn the rotors. Then they said they needed to change the rotors. I had also asked that they tighten the emergency brake cable. They charged me for this, but never performed the service. Their prices are much higher than their competitors in the area and their customer service is lacking in many areas. I will never return here and recommend the same to everyone else.

They were wonderful. They have excellent prices and they are very personable and fast.
