+ -1 moreI hired Mike last April to replace the rook on my house and garage. It had serious wind damage and a leak into my utility room. The work looks great but who knows, since Mike failed to get the three required inspections!!!!!! Now I have to get a ladder that is three rungs above my roof so I can get the final inspection. So don't trust Mike without verifying the inspections have been done BEFORE you pay him.

+ -1 moreIt looks like by other reviews, he doesn't call back very many of his customers. It sounds like he needs to return calls. He should at least call to let us know that he is too busy, and to try somebody else.
Description of Work: He came out to my neighbor's house and went on her roof and came down. He told her that there should be some work done. He never called her back. He left business cards. I asked him to appraise the condition of my roof. I called him and he told me that he was in Denver, CO and that he would call me on Sunday. He never called.

+ -1 moreIt took us a while to connect but Michael the owner provided an estimate by email after initial visit. They were great about keeping in touch and working around our schedule which was a little crazy at the time. We were kept up to date on damages and repairs needed (I expected some damage as we had leaking in the recent past). My only complaint was damage to our satellite internet dish which needed to be replaced and in truth I felt that the internet company should have been dealing with removal and replacement. The roof looks great and have had first rain and all seems well. The price was great and I like dealing with smaller family businesses We are very happy with the work

Description of Work: Mr. Lambert seemed pleasant enough over the phone but, as has been mentioned by others, HE DOESN'T CALL BACK!. I left 2-3 messages for him before he agreed to come and look at my garage roof while I was at work. I still am not sure whether or not he came here because he failed to call me back (as he had promised to do when I finally spoke to him briefly on the phone). I don't understand why so many workmen are so "flaky" about follow-up calls, etc. I've encountered this problem several times recently, despite being very polite and reasonable when calling them'

+ -1 moreFor half the price of another diamond rated contractor, he blocked the pigeons from our roof, cleaned our gutters and run offs and replaced a half dozen tiles. He came to give an estimate within an hour of my calling him, did the work when he said he would and at the estimated price.

+ -1 moreI pretty much described the whole story above. He was prompt, very personable, and professional, but I never heard back to him after that. It has been 6 weeks since he came for an estimate. I've seen and heard nothing from him since.
Description of Work: I called Monterey Roofing first to get an estimate on replacing my flat roof. He was prompt and pleasant. Very easy to talk to and he made me feel very comfortable. I liked that he was a small business with a family just trying to make a living like the rest of us. I had told him we were still working on putting toghether the funds to do the job, but still needed to know how much. He did the walk through, climbed on the roof and looked it over and addressed the areas that really needed at least some repair until we could get the whole roof done. I liked that. He was suppose to put together an estimate with both repairs and then a new roof. I never heard back from him. I was very dissappointed he did not get back to me. I thought he was the right man for the job.

+ -1 moreI got several bids. All several thousand $$ higher. Michael Lambert, the owner, was recommended by my accountant. Michael is a professional and a nice guy. He is patient and thorough. He was willing to work with some other guys who were helping put in sky lights, solar tubes, and repairing dry rot. He made sure the whole project went smoothly from beginning to end. There was not one concern or question I had that he didn't answer clearly, respectfully, and politely. Many guys will be kind of snotty or patronizing to women who need home improvement services and ask what may seem like "dumb" questions. Not Michael. My new roof looks fantastic!
