From start to finish the job was on track, the end results were better than we could have prayed for. Mr. Fischer is a true craftsman and professional in every respect. I will always call on him for any home improvements.

He was on time, professional, down to earth and took time to answer our questions and explain options to us. He also recommended a structural engineer who was very helpful as well.
There were so many issues with the home that we did not go through with the purchase but we were very impressed with Butch and his level of knowledge and the model in which he does business.
When we find the house we want, we definitely plan to contact Butch again and use him for our construction needs.

Just as he did for his previous renovation project, he took such care with passion and integrity. My favorite is the gas fire pit. I showed him a square cereal bowl and told him that is the shape of the fire pit that I would like to have. In the matter of a month or so, I had a fire pit, even better than how I pictured it, yes in the shape that I wanted, matching nicely with the beautiful stone walls in front of the house that Butch recently worked on. This is what I like about him and the reason why I cannot go with anyone else when it comes to designing. He really wanted to know what I like, had me drive around look at different landscapes, research about what sort of plants I like, then discussed with me various times as both Butch and I came up with new ideas to incorporate to the project. I watched what I pictured in my mind become real. It was very uplifting process. I can say the same about the remodeling project. I feel a sense of ownership and closeness to everything that Butch worked on as he let me get involved in the process of it from the beginning to the end. I am still mesmerized by the beauty and perfection of his work. Consider yourself lucky, if you can manage to get him. Good luck with your project!

Butch Fischer is a highly-experienced professional. He is easy to work with, communicates well and follows-through along each step of the project. If I had questions about anything, he walked me through it and made sure I was comfortable with everything. Butch's sub-contractors are very experienced as well. They also communicated with me pretty well and accomodated my work schedule, etc. (when needing access to my garage). I strongly recommend Butch for your construction, remodeling and other project needs around the house. I plan to work with him again in the future.

When a flood occurred in my condominium because of a neighbor's toilet overflowing for 12 days, my floors in 6 rooms needed to be redone which didn't involve too many decisions--just new floors. However, the kitchen needed work top to bottom. Water had penetrated the walls and cabinets and 6 weeks of drying fans didn't dry it out. A friend recommended Butch Fischer at Fischer Construction and said he would do excellent work and that I would be pleased.
Never being involved with any construction projects, I was concerned about many things: cost, choices, cleanliness and timeliness. As important as those factors were, I was most concerned about trust--having people working in my home when I wasn't here. When I originally spoke with Butch, he helped me understand the process and made it very clear what to expect. He allayed my fears and the work began.
I found he process fascinating, precise and surprisingly clean. Fischer Construction delivered. It did not take long for me to have complete confidence in their work and change suggestions. I let them have a key so I didn't have to be there every day. I trusted them completely.
I made a big mistake in ordering the flooring and carpeting for the entire house. Oh, how I wish I had Butch's crew take care of that, too. I soon had the experience of what shouldn't be done. Even though this was not part of his job, Butch was able to help minimize the problem and helped me address the other vendor on my behalf.
Fischer wasn't the least expensive quote I received but the the old axiom of 'you get what you pay for' was certainly true in this case. My money was well spent.
My recommendation is unequivocal -- Fischer Construction is just the best. I actually enjoyed the process and do not hesitate to recommend him for any construction project.

Butch Fischer is completely reputable responsible honest and hardworking. There were never less than 3 people working, and frequently more. He has superb subs that do high quality work. Everyone showed up at 8:00 and left at 4:30. When circumstances demanded folks worked weekends and evenings.

Inability to communicate is probably what many people experience while working with contractors and alike. What makes Butch Fischer stands out is his ability to communicate, keeping things straight, involving you in every step. He had a really cool set up for communication. He had a headset, which enabled him to talk while working. Our communication was done mostly by texting. He spoke into his mouth piece which converted into texts. When selecting bathroom fixtures, we exchanged ideas mostly via email by sending photos that I took in stores or items found online. Simply amazing! We were communicating on daily basis during the whole six month!
Butch has a remarkable taste?elegant and sophisticated, yet willing to try something completely new and bold. He treated every single room that he worked on with great care and treated them like art pieces. He is very meticulous. He made sure everything was done up to his standard, and everyone worked under him did what he demanded even if that meant they had to redo their work or order parts that weren?t satisfactory to him. After doing several projects in our house over the years, the most important qualities I value in a contractor are: good communication, honesty and quality of work. Butch absolutely loves what he is doing and that shows in his work. He communicated with us like no one else, his attention to details was more than I even expected and he is a true master of his craft. He is intelligent, meticulous, easy to work with, he listens and understands your needs and ideas, he is reliable, trustworthy and just a pleasure to work with.
There were a lot of things that Butch didn't have to do throughout the whole kitchen remodel, but he did them to help me. It is hard to express the gratitude for the work that Butch has done. Everything was done so perfectly (I know I have used that word a lot, but there is no other word to describe Butch's work), that I told him that our next house he either will be building or remodeling from start to finish. I know I can trust him with any job and it will be done correctly, beautifully and above any expectations. I am privileged to know him and having him work with us. Even when he has completed his work in our kitchen in December of 2011, in February of 2012 he spent over an hour consulting me on the work being done outside by landscapers. Mr. Fischer spent considerable time with my wife and me discussing options and then reviewing decisions to ensure he understood just what we wanted done. His coordination and planning were excellent throughout. All tradesmen came to our house having been well-briefed by Mr. Fischer; all made introductory phone calls before arriving to ensure their arrival time was convenient for us. Estimated times for job completion by the various trades were met. In one portion of the work, the two decks, the painter undertook, on his own, to do more work than any of us had anticipated because, in his words, "it wouldn't be a good job" unless he had done so. All-in-all we were impressed with Mr. Fischer's planning and coordination throughout and with his frequent involvement with the various workmen to ensure the quality of work was top rate. With one small exception, we were impressed with the professionalism of each and every worker who performed any of the various jobs. (The one exception was minor and was quickly corrected by Mr. Fischer.)
I answered the question "would you use this company/individual again?" with a "Yes". And, in fact, I have just hired Mr. Fischer to do an additional job for me, unrelated to the work described in this report.

The price was very reasonable. The stairs I had before were dangerous. They were just 3-4 but they were all of uneven height. So he put in another stair case above the brick stairs and now it is of much nicer proposition. They are very good and very straight forward. Butch was a pleasure to deal with. He maps everything out and he did some other renovations on the house a few years ago. He always tells you what to expect and a perfect craftsman who leaves his work site very nice.

Mr. Fischer gave me an estimate and came in below the estimate. He said he was able to re-use the metal gate parts to save us money. I appreciated the quality of the wood and how nice our new gate looks. He is really nice and easy to work with and finished the project (although very small for him) on time and under budget. I would recommend him and will definitely use his services in the future from carpentry to general contracting work.

As an interior designer, I have done a lot of projects and my experience with Fischer Construction was fabulous! Butch Fischer is meticulous, reliable, trustworthy, easy to work with, highly intelligent, and he?s got a fabulous crew. I can?t recommend him enough! He?s also the best finished carpenter that I?ve ever worked with---it?s exceptional. Butch pays great attention to detail. We were able to sell this property for the highest priced property ever sold in that area during a down market.

Mr. Fischer orchestrated all subs, choosing only the highest quality workmanship and personally install and rebuilt windows and cabinets. At final inspection his work was praised by the County inspector as the best he had seen in a long time.

Butch kept us safe from the all the construction debis and dust. That worked out great because we lived in the house during the construciton. He was able to contain each project easily and was very concerned for our living space. We ended up living in a small space and the last thing to be gutted was my kitchen. Butch set up a make shift kitchen for me in the small studio on the property, which worked out great. We were fortunate to have that space. There were engineering problems prior to Butch's arrival because the engineers didn't actually come to the job site to see what we had for footings and how the framing was done. The engineering that was done was not working and Butch was able to re-engineer the job himself. As he went along, he discovered discrepancies between the engineer's drawings and calculations of what was actually on site. He also used another engineering company that he trusted to validate all his calculations. I trusted that the first engineer's drawing was correct - with that experience in mind, I would insist that the engineer inspect prior to creating the drawings. There were many permits to be obtained; one included a soils engineering which we had to pay for up front. It wasn't adequate. My new footing couldn't be standard. In certain areas, the footing had to go down five to six feet. This was not discovered until the excavation was underway. This was an unforseen issue.

I believe that if one is going to be completely satisfied, it is necessary to be involved. While I did not have a picture in my mind of the finished look, I did have clear, underlying goals, namely clean lines, ease of use and ease of care. I needed a perfectionist who would listen to me. Butch and I were a great team! I know that our personal tastes differ, but we worked together on an ever-evolving plan. We spoke daily about what would occur that day and had a place to leave notes for each other, so even though I was working full-time, there was excellent communication. Butch is not the kind of contractor who makes the arrangements and then sends a crew to work on their own, just checking in periodically. He was wearing the tool belt and doing the work, directing everything personally. I was secure in the knowledge that other contractors would have to do their work up to his standards and they would not leave until he was satisfied. Some of the subcontractors were people he often works with and others were ones I suggested, which he found to be superior to others he might have used. He took all bids, watched them measure and knew right away who was the best qualified. Butch Fischer is an artist who loves to do quality work. He is open to new ideas, which was good, because I asked for some things that had not been done before. While shopping for cabinets, plumbing fixtures and finish items needed for the project I discovered the high regard given to Butch by other trades people. Once initial city inspections had been done, and the Inspector saw the quality of the work, everything went very smoothly throughout. Butch is a true professional with an incredibly high work ethic. There are always surprises and challenges. Living in a house with no working bathrooms (in January!) was not something I hope to do again. I did not have any deadlines and my interest was in having things "done right" so the time may have been longer than anticipated because of choices I made. I am satisfied that there is nothing makeshift or half-done here. Guests have commented that the kitchen looks like something in a magazine and in two years I have not found even one thing about which I could say, "I wish I would have... " I didn't get a "kitchen by Butch Fischer" as one might get with someone who has personal designs in mind. I got MY kitchen, expertly crafted by Butch Fischer.

First of all Butch was very understanding of the difficulty we had living in a home that was gutted by a fire. Fortunately we had our Master Bedroom and bath and kitchen. We lived in the house while he worked. He took the time to explain what he was doing. He answered questions at the drop of the hat. As my wife says, "Butch was the conductor of an entire orchestra," as he coordinated the subs and trade work here. Butch had a challenge to separate the kitchen from the open beamed ceiling and he pulled that off and kept the mess out of the kitchen. At the end of every work day he cleaned up so there was nothing to trip over. Butch?s work ethic is as good as anything I?ve seen. There was a corner piece on a moulding near the ceiling, he was up and down the ladder constantly sanding and checking the fit until it was perfect. My wife says, ?Butch is basically a perfectionist."

Fischer Construction?s owner, found things that weren?t right with the house during his prep work. We had standing water in the crawl space everywhere. He knew to divert the water, tear out all the old ductwork, and dig a bigger hole for a new sump pump. Now that?s fixed. The electrical in our laundry room wasn?t up to code and he fixed it. A rogue water pipe burst in the attic and he fixed that too. We did ignore the owener's advice for our exterior painter and went with the neighbor?s recommendation. That guy was a nightmare. We used the owner's painter for the interior after that. He was great. Every contractor who came here as part of our project told us ?Butch?s card is the only card I carry for General Contractor. I love working with him, he a perfectionist and a true craftsman.? That included the electrician, plumber, drywall, tile, painter and sheet metal guys. When the inspector came out from the County for the final inspection, Butch wasn?t here. The inspector said, ?My god, who did this work? It?s immaculate.?
