Overall it was a bad experience. These folks strung us along, promising to get the job done, but never really getting going on it. When they were three weeks past the promised installation date, we queried them on progress, through our general contractor, and found out that they had not done anything toward building our cabinets. We will be looking elsewhere for our cabinets now.
Description of Work: A good friend of ours recommended Commercial Woodworking for their quality of work. We have a small kitchen remodel project to complete. Manual from Commercial Woodworking came to the house in early August to do the measurements, and indicated that his stain guy was on vacation, so our cabinets would not be ready to install until late August. We ordered the appliances for delivery around September 1, in anticipation of receiving the cabinets. Manual recommneded a general contractor, who specialized in finish carpentry, and we have engaged him to do the installation. Commercial Woodworking emailed us asking for the specification sheets for the appliances in late August, which we provided, assuming the project was moving along. Then things got really quiet. Commercial Woodworking sent us another email around September 10 asking if we could have the general contractor drop off a cabinet door for matching purposes. Our contractor dropped the door off on the 13th or so, and then reported to me that Commercial Woodworking had essentially not even started our job. So, now we have a general contractor ready to do the installation, appliances sitting taking up space waiting for installation, and no cabinets. We understand that the folks at Commercial Woodworking are supposed to be very nice people, and I am sure they are. The problem is more with saying what you can do, and then doing what you said you would. This seems to be a major failing with Commercial Woodworking. If they had told me they could not manage the job because of other workload, that would have been fine, and I could have used another source, and my job would be complete. Getting strung along by these folks, in my book, is unforgivable, which is why they get an F rating. The quality of the job covers the entire job, not just the woodworking quality. They need to get their act together, or more potential clients like me will fire them, and read bad reviews on Angie;s list and go somewhere else.
