Everything went perfectly!! The most important to know about this vendor is his superior attention to detail! You will not be disappointed if you hire this gentleman!! He also is very good at checking back periodically after a job is finished to make sure everything is good and there are no problems. Use him - you won't regret it!!

Did a great job in two days! Jose has amazing helper who worked very hard and very quick! I am now having him do more work for me. Very nice, honest and reliable.

Alewine Repair was excellent. John Alewine and his helper, Rickey, were so nice to us and very professional. They sealed the roof flashing, sealed the patio room and put new stucco on cracks and painted them. John Alewine also repaired crack above our door--it was flawless. I would definitely hire them again. Appreciate Angie's List for connecting me with them.

He told me the job was too small, "didn't I have something bigger for him to do?" I told him this was the work I needed done right now. He said he would call me back -- if he had time. Never heard from him again.

I called and spoke to Jose Ortiz and told him what we needed done. He took my phone number and said he would call me later that day to set up a time to come and see the job. He never called me back.

Jose was very prompt. Always on time. The work was high quality and each step was explained. I highly recommend.

He has worked for my family for over 12 years. Maybe more. I lost count. I have so many good things to say about Jose and his partner Cecellio. They are both super friendly and always have a smile on their face. I haven’t found a job they couldn’t do yet. Things they have done are worked on electrical, paint, add walls, take out and put in a new bathtub, tile on floor, pretty tile on walls, put in new ceiling lights and so much more. They do work in my animal barn doing things like fixing waterers, putting up fans, replacing the washers in the roof, mounting racks, securing feeders to the walls, putting up metal fencing and even hosing down the inside of the stall. No job is too big or too small for them. They also do work in my father’s medical office. You can trust these guys with your money, medications or jewelry laying around. They have keys to both my house and my dad’s office. We trust them that much! They clean up well after completing a project. They do things right the first time around. They really pay attention to detail. They actually WANT to do a good job and for you to be pleased with their work. I can’t say enough good things about these two guys. They can do it all and they do it with a smile on their face!

This did not even get off the ground. I scheduled an appointment with Affordable handyman Jose Ortiz, prior to meeting at the project house, when the time arrived for us to meet he was a NO SHOW, i called to ask if he was coming to the project address and he said "things happen" he said he was "running late' i asked how late and he said "30 minutes and in traffic" however in the background of his phone call did not sound like he was driving, so i asked if he was running late or forgot about the appointment? and replied again "things happen" and asked again how late he would be and now he said "45 minutes" i questioned him on him forgetting about the appointment! I informed them we will NOT be hiring them for any work! How do you forget about appointments for jobs that would keep you in business. This contractor is poorly managed and any business that has an appointment ethic such as this will NOT ever get my business and should not get anybody's else either!!!!!

Went great. No complaints. Paid as the work was finished in stages.

The end result turned out amazing!! We had been wanting new countertops for awhile and just couldn't justify the price, until we found this issue under the kitchen sink and knew it was time. So glad we found Jose and his team, I would hire them again in a heartbeat. They were all very professional. He has his own team that has worked with him for over 15 years. We needed the job done asap, so they came and gave us a quote on day, brought us quartz samples the second day, and came back a week later and completed the entire project in 2 days. We are very very pleased with everything!

It started out with me trying to get estimates from 10 different companies. They either did not show up to give an estimate or didn't send me an estimate when they said they would. Except one, and I wasn't impressed with his demeanor. A bit pricey, but quality can not be beat. Started each day on schedule and worked throughout the day. Very friendly and professional. Cleaned up each day. They were very careful with furnishings and floors/carpets. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again.

I bought what I thought would be needed to repair the toilet in hopes of keeping the repair costs down. When Affordable Handyman arrived he found that I didn't manage to get the right parts, so he took the parts and receipt back to the store to get what was right for my repairs. I gave him a key so he could lock up when the repair was complete. About 3 hours later he showed up at work reported the repairs were complete, and returned my key to me. They even used a heat gun to dry the wall by the stuck valve in order to prevent any mold growth. He was very concerned about the dogs being left in one small room for the day, but understood that because I wasn't sure how they would behave if I wasn't there with him and his crew, they couldn't be released into the rest of the house.

Jose Ortiz was punctual and professional, returned all phone calls and made a great effort to address any concerns we had. When asked he provided detailed quotes, always had receipts for anything purchased, and we found him to be a genuinely nice guy to do business with. His employee Emilio was also friendly and arrived on time, worked diligently, and took great care in cleaning up after a day of work. We basically had a long list of things to do, and Jose managed to get everything completed on schedule. We are going to remodel two bathrooms and do new flooring and we are looking forward to working with him again.

A day before he was to arrive, he called to reschedule. I rescheduled for another day, two weeks from the original date. Once again, before the second scheduled date, Jose called to reschedule. He asked if we could move our appointment to the following day. I had to rearrange my entire schedule to accommodate his request but I felt that since we already postponed our appointment once, I would like to get this project moving so the sooner the better. Finally, our THIRD appointment day came. And went. No Jose. He never showed up nor did he call. I left a message on his phone but never got a response. I am furious. I lost out on one month (I work two full-time jobs and he claimed he was extremely busy as well so it took us over two weeks to schedule a date clear for both of us).

I made two appointments to get them to do an estimate on what I needed. The first man who was supposed to come called me the day of the appointment to cancel because he said he had to go out of town and didn't know when he'd return. I had to call again to make a second appointment and no one ever showed up or call to let me know they weren't coming. I'm never calling them again...very unprofessional company.

Excellent drywall and paint job. The painter/dry-waller was professional, courteous and respectful of our property. The walls were properly prepared for painting. And one thing I want to mention is that we have rounded wall and ceiling edges which, at least for me, is hard to paint a straight line on. Well I watched our painter Cecelio, hand paint straight lines and I gotta say, I was impressed. It was just a great job. Jose, the owner, oversaw the job and made sure we satisfied along the way. He's super easy to work with and I would definitely hire him again.

Jose, the owner, called the night before to confirm my apointment. He was punctual and very professional. He was organized, methodical and completed each job to my satisfaction.. In two instances he even fixed items that I thought would have to be completely replaced. His work was outstanding and I will definitely recommend him to all my friends. Discovering a very capable, honest and nice handyman is like finding gold..

His worker was timely on each day he was expected. The work went very smoothly. I was at my job most days, but a relative staying at the house, was amazed at the good progress each day. Jose suggested a paint that was different from what I had in mind; he really knows his stuff; the new color is great and it will be very easy to care for as well. This upgrade came in under what I had available in budget for the work.

Jose and his worker "C" did a fabulous job. They cleaned up after Jose and his worker "C", did a fantastic job on all work completed at my house. They were kind, courteous and would clean up every day after completing their work for the day. My neighbor saw the work they did at my house and plans on using them in the near future. I plan on having them paint my house in the future. Overall, I'm very satisfied with Affordable Handyman.

I found Affordable Handyman on Angie's list; after I had called another company but they never got back to me with their estimate. Jose came out on Monday 3-6-17. He was professional and polite. He understood that I was hoping to get this repair underway as soon as reasonable. He had his estimate to me the very next day. As he had some other jobs in progress; we agreed they would start our project on 3-23-17. Our project required plumbing and electrical and drywall work. I called him two days before the start of the project, to report that a water heater replacement would need to be added in. On the day they began, he made some suggestions to my spouse; who drove and got the new tank-less gas water heater while they were removing some lathe and plaster to move water and gas connections. They were prompt in their arrival each day, With good and steady progress on our improvements. They pointed out to us, the wall where the connections would end up was a load bearing wall so extra care was taken to keep it's support solid. At the end of the project, when they painted the re built walls they painted all four walls and the ceiling as well. Good attention to detail and excellent work. I hope to hire them for future projects.
