Tim has been in the business (drapery, blind, new and repair business) for over 30 years, learning the trade from his father. I could not find anyone on Angie's List that does window treatment repair. I did an internet search and found ServiceMaster who referred me to Tim. I sent an email in the evening and he was the first one to call me the following morning on December 23, 2010. Tim agreed to come to my home on December 24, 2010 at no additional charge. He restrung the pleaded blind and replaced all the draw strings at the quoted price ($50). He then repaired other blinds, replacing wands and repairing other window blind mechanisms that had become non-functional. When it came time to pay him, Tim only charged me the original quote of $50. I paid him $75 because he went far and above what I had originally asked him to do and I still felt it was a steal. Tim told me that Hunter Douglas would have restrung the pleaded blinds for free but that I would have had to take the blinds down, package them and send them to the factory in Chula Vista. Tim earned big time honesty points with that disclosure. However, I didn't want to bother having to deal with the hassle over the holidays. I asked his assistance about replacing a very large and long window blind in the kitchen (92x46). I thought the charge would be well in excess of $400. Days later, Tim later called me and after obtaining my approval, he delivered and installed the window blind two weeks later on Jan 5, 2011. Total cost was $158.38, including product, tax and installation. I was stunned. I paid Tim $200 and thanked him profusely. Per Tim, he is a master installer for many product lines, including Hunter Douglas. This gentlemen is a fantastic resource for Angie's List users like myself. When it comes to blinds, drapery, Tim is my go-to-guy from now on.
