Historic Lighting

We were in the process of upgrading a very unattractive light bulb in the front porch with a period lighting piece. Having shopped (and purchased at this store before) we were not prepared for the lackadaisical response we received from the proprietors. They were having a sale and there was one piece which caught our eye - when we inquired as to whether we could purchase it to take home to check it within the space and return it - silly on our part as the response was "no" due to it being a sale item. Hey - you have to ask sometimes, but the response was understandable. Where we were taken aback was when we asked to see it on the ground, the request was refused citing difficulty in the initial hanging and unless we were going to purchase it, there was no reason to go to the trouble. Additionally, since Arroyo's are pretty much special order items, they suggested we make a mockup of the sizes the company makes and try hanging that first. The funny thing is we did end up doing just that, but we gave our business to another company, for the exact same item for almost half the cost. Sadly for Historic Lighting, opting for short-term laziness instead of looking at a long-term vision means they will miss out on an opportunity to help another family with a whole house remodel and the lighting choices which will ensue.
