Because this was the original light in a 35+ year old pool, the electrical wires had hardened and could not be fished out. Raul poured oil down the conduit and returned a couple of days later to try again....it was not an easy task but finally the light was installed. Because of the extra work involved they revised their estimate slightly which I felt was fair. The pump fix went smoothly, although we did discuss the option of replacing the pump with a more energy efficient variable speed model which includes a attractive DWP rebate. I opted for the fix. I would hire again, but they do have more than one job going on at any given time, so I would be real clear about your intended time line. I was in no hurry and was able to work within their schedule to have the work completed.

Very professional with high standards of craftsmanship. Most important is that they offered multiple solutions to fix my problem.

Called multiple times and left multiple messages, never got an answer or a callback.

In Aug 2010, we noticed that the spa had the same problem again. We decided that we wanted to get rid of the spa (7 years old) and contacted Raul about the offer he made. This time we spoke to Irit and she said that they would figure out a date and when they could bring the proper man power to take the spa away. She selected a Wednesday in September and I arranged to spend the afternoon at home. I called on Tuesday to confirm the time and Irit told me that they were running behind on a job and would call back by next week to reschedule. She never called back so I followed up. She told me that Raul had hurt his back and that she would call the following week when his back was better. She didn't call back again. Then I called her again and she told me that she'd been out-of-town and that she was now reconsidering the deal and felt that she needed to charge us since she had to hire people. I reminded her of the deal that her husband had made. She told me again that Raul was already gone to work and that she needed to get back to me. I left two follow up messages and she hasn't bothered to return the call. We were willing to even work with them on price but she just decided to stop returning phone calls.

This was my first big remodeling project and I was really nervous. I needed to replace my pool deck as there was serious leaking from the old cracked deck under my family room hardwood floor. I also needed the pool re-plastered and as it turned out needed new retaining walls since the existing walls had never been put in properly an were disintegrating. The drainage in the deck had to be completely replaced and a new line emptying to the gutter installed as the existing drainage was not at the proper grade. I got two estimates and Aqua Care was significantly lower and addressed the issues that could have caused the leaking problems in the first place whereas the other company expected I would know exactly what needed to be done and they would quote a price on that. Raul and Irit of Aqua Care were great in that they explained everything well, returned my calls promptly and didn't take the least offense when I wanted to have a friend experienced in remodeling projects assess the need for some of the work they were proposing. Most days they were on site and worked closely with the mason, the wrought iron fence guy and the stump removal guy to give some examples. The project did end up costing much more than the original bid BUT this was because it was not possible to know what the situation was until all the old concrete was removed. A consumer can feel very vulnerable when a project can't be completed because other issues involving new costs become evident. However, I really had the sense that Raul and Irit are fundamentally good, honest people and were charging fairly for the additional work. They helped guide aesthetic choices but respected my decisions. Both Irit and Raul are knowledgeable and extremely hard working and really cared that I would be pleased. they also taught me how to maintain the pool so I could do it myself. I probably couldn't have had better contractors for my first remodel!

Irit and Raul were great, just went with another company for replaster for some minor reasons.

Raul and Irit were a pleasure to deal with. They went above and beyond to address every question and concern we had and did an excellent job in the installation of the new equipment. All of the Pentair components they installed are working out great. The prices they quoted were very fair, and they delivered exactly as promised. They arranged a meeting with the Pentair representative who was very helpful in explaining how to use the new equipment. We are extremely pleased with Aqua Care and intend to have them re-plaster and re-tile our pool at the end of summer. We enthusiastically recommend them.

Service was excellent. Aqua Care was very responsive from start to finish. They showed up on time, confirmed meetings in advance, and were very professional throughout the experience. They did not seek any change orders and they met their stated deadlines. When I arrived home to see the installation, to my pleasant surprise, they had very thoroughly cleaned the entire equipment area, and repainted the pipes and plumbing such that it matched the color of the new equipment. They take pride in what they do and want to please the customer. They treat the job site as if it were their own and they look at the job from the perspective of "if this were my house, how would I do this?". Overall - we were very pleased and we highly recommend them. (and I give out such praise sparingly and only if it is absolutely deserved). Great job.

Great service, great people, great experience overall. They came to my home gave me a bid, (which they stuck to) and started work that very day. My pool was totally done and ready to swim in four days later. Wonderful company. I don't think I could have had a better experience. In fact I changed to Aqua Care for my weekly pool service and have been very happy.

They are fast and efficient, with two or three people there to do the work. They come every Friday in the afternoon. They charge me about $100 a month. I have been very happy with their service for the 6 months that I have had them working for me.

My experience with Aquacare was really great. Irit and Raul came to my house end of June to estimate the work to be done in order to renovate an old rectangle swimming pool in the backyard of a house I just bought. They were able in 2 weeks to redo everything in the pool (14x28). They demolished the old pool, put a new coping, added 2 benches inside the pool, enlarged the existing stairs, put new tile, new filter/pump, full new plumbing compliant with the Californian pool and spa code, new gray plaster. They were very strong on a technical perspective and very professional on the project management to finish the pool on time. With their experience, they were able to give me good advices on what to do and what not to do in the project. I would recommend AquaCare to any one who needs to repair or build a swimming pool. Irit and Raul are very friendly people and are the best in their job. I will contact them again for sure to install later on either a salt system or solar panels. My pool is now really beautiful and I m very thank full to them.

I called Aqua Care based on the ratings on Angie's List. I had a spa heater that was shot and needed replacing. They came out to my house over the Memorial Day weekend. I was not expecting that they would be that fast. They gave me a quote that was very reasonable and talked me out of a more expensive heater that I didn't need. They came back when they promised and replaced the heater. Turned out I also needed a new pump which they came back out to install a few days later. Everything works great. I need to do some major work to my pool at the end of the summer and definitely plan on using them for that too. They are also very lovely people that seem to truly care about their customers and their work.

We had an old pool that was showing its age and previously poor workmanship - stained tiles, uneven plastering, a slow leak. We interviewed 3 companies - each of whom was on Angie's List. All the contractors who came to our house seemed very well qualified. We chose Aqua Care for a combination of its price, the fact that conditioning the pool water after plastering was included in the price, and for their professionalism. Irit and Raul are the 2 proprietors of the firm. Irit is the designer/landscaper and worked with us in providing quotes, design, helping us choose tile, and handling paperwork. Raul supervised the work involved in the project. Although Aqua Care is the youngest of the firms we interviewed, Raul has many years of experience, and it definitely showed. After using the pool for several years and not knowing all its various parts and maintenance, Raul impressively spent the time to show and discuss in great detail about plastering, how the water flows, how the pump and filter works, proper maintenance. He even figured where out leak was - and it was no where we could have expected. Raul definitely knew his trade inside and out, and you could tell he really enjoyed educating us about the pool. He's a great pool doctor! The workmanship was simply fabulous. The tiles are perfectly aligned. The plastering is smooth. Irit and Raul showed great pride in their work during and after the project. During the conditioning phase, Irit and Raul would come by for several days as scheduled (and they work very hard), scrubbing the plaster, balancing chemicals, prepping the filter. We were so pleased with their service that we have also chosen for them do service our pool weekly. Their level of detail exceeded our previous pool guy. We would highly recommend them to anyone interested in replastering, repairing, and servicing the pool. The process was very smooth. No significant delays. No nickel and dimming. They honored the contract and their word. Again, they show great pride in the work and treated our pool like it was their own.

Raul and Irit are the absolute best contractors I have ever worked with. They treated this huge job like I was a member of their family and they wanted to do their very best for the best price possible. I ended up with a resort-style pool that completely exceeds my expectations. They added all kinds of little elements that they didn't have to and didn't charge extra for (I love the spot to put an umbrella while lounging on my extended pool steps, and the new electric outlets in the back yard that Raul added since he was installing the light control anyway). Without fail, they always showed up when they said they would and communicated clearly every step of the way. Their team is very professional and cleans up everything before they leave each day. The job cost exactly what they said it would and was done a week earlier than scheduled. Clearly, I could not recommend them more highly. If only all contractors took so much pride in their work and had such respect for the customer.

Aqua Care personnel were very competent and got the work done in a timely manner. They gave us many options for the work we wanted to do, and gave us the excellent suggestion of moving the current equipment location farther away from the pool - it has opened up the space and the backyard looks much better. The new skimmer appears to be working perfectly, and the pool is in a pristine condition.

Irit and Raul were some of the best contractors I've worked with. They were punctual, professional and did everything promised with a reasonable and competitive price. Irit, for example, had excellent design suggestions, and even had hard-to-find sample tiles with her that matched my patio deck perfectly. Their workers were efficient, effective, clean and professional. They completed the job as scheduled and even finished a little earlier than promised. Further, Raul was conscientious about the work and his attention to detail was beyond the scope of the job. As Raul stated, their clients become new friends because of their integrity and personality. I am even considering them for future work. I strongly recommend their firm and services.

We were extremely happy with the work of Aqua Care. Irit and Raul were punctual, professional and extremely easy to work with. They met with us several times, provided good design advice, brought samples and answered all of our questions until we were comfortable. We also interviewed another company who seemed only to want to get the order. Irit and Raul were about much more than that and making sure we were happy. When the work began, their workers were efficient and kept a very clean work environment from beginning to end - and now we have an amazing pool that we are so happy with. We liked them so much, we have decided to keep using them to clean our pool on a weekly basis. The work was top quality and very reasonably priced and they kept us informed of the process every step of the way. We cannot say enough good things about Irit, Raul and Aqua Care. The reason I e-mailed Aqua Care was because of the reports. I had never used a contractor before and didn't know where to look. I needed the pool filled for underwriting safety concerns from a refi I was trying to get. So it needed to be done on short notice. I asked them for some ideas. Raul and Irit came by to look at the pool and threw out a few ideas to make it safe. After talking to them I realized the replaster was the best long term solution. This was a Saturday and they called back and said they could start on it Monday. By Tuesday afternoon the pool was was being refilled. As Raul was getting the start up ready it was discovered the the filter was in poor condition and he could try and get it going but the filter inserts would have to be replace and they were not inexpensive. After looking at the pool I didn't want to run the water through the old equipment. And by this time I had talked with them enough to be comfortable with their advice. I decided to change the filter and pump. The job was completed yesterday. They returned and tied up a few loose ends. I am very happy with my pool, the timeliness of the work, and the way they answered my questions and concerns patiently. They even threw in a few freebees, like the pool brush, pole, basket. (I think.... but it doesn't matter...Raul, Irit , If you're reading this I'm just kidding.) They are good people that enjoy what they do and get a kick out of the transformations they create. It is my pleasure to recommend them to anyone needing pool work. They even helped me negotiate a deal with a pool maintenance guy working in the area.

After going through horrible experiences with two previous contractors who started the project, took a mass amount of money, delayed the project for more than 6 months, and after countless promises abandoned the job once they got a big check, I began my search for yet another company to finish the job. Extremely skeptical about the next opportunist crook who would take on this project and leave me hanging yet one more time, I began my search to to find someone who could prove me wrong. Considering the experiences I had with past contractors, I considered hiring separate people for the pool portion and for the deck portion of the project. I interviewed companies who specialized in their respective areas as well as companies that were capable of doing both, and had decided on a couple of contractors. Just prior to making my final decision, I was browsing through the Angie's List to see if I could find yet one more option to make sure my pricing was in the right place. I called Aqua Care (who are conveniently located in Pasadena) to see if they could come out. Irit called me back quickly after I left my message to ask if we could meet in a few days. When I told her I wanted to meet right away, because I needed to make a decision, Irit and Raul came out that same evening. Because my backyard was completely torn apart at this point, navigating through the pipes sticking out, trenches that were dug up, and wire mesh that was half way rolled up, wasn't an easy task. Especially, when it was almost dark. We were able to discuss everything - from my project details, to the people I had been dealing with up to that point - and they seemed genuinely interested in helping me finish the project the way it was intended to be done. They wanted to come back on Sunday morning to look at the job site again, to make sure they understood the crazy task they could potentially take on, and give me an accurate price. A couple of days later, we met again, so that we could discuss the estimate. The pricing they came back with was more than I could afford at this point (as I had paid about $20,000 more than I had anticipated to the previous two contractors already). I shared with them the pricing I had gotten from the two other contractors I had thought about hiring, and asked if it was at all possible they could come close to it. From the minute I met Irit and Raul, I felt comfortable, and in my gut knew they were sincere about what they were telling me - about wanting to help me finish this project the right way. After a few back-and-forth's, we came to a price that was comfortable for both - one I could afford. Because they reduced their pricing, I told them I didn't want them to take the job if they were uncomfortable about doing it for a reduced fee. I told them I need to have the job done as if the price was not reduced, and was assured over and over that there would not be a compromise in quality or service. Well, I decided to give them the project, and am extremely happy that I did. Because I had gone through so much prior to hiring them, I was nervous throughout the process, but Raul and Irit kept reassuring me to not worry and to trust them. What I didn't realize when I hired them, is how right my decision was and how sincere they were. Throughout the project, they made sure every part of the project was done right. On many occasions, it required taking apart things/mistakes that the previous contractors had made, and making sure they were done right. Raul made sense of the maze of pipes that were placed underground - even replacing some, and made it all work. Irit was always there to make sure the project was managed right. They were committed to this project once they were hired, and stayed committed until we finished. They made an effort to change my opinion of contractors and to try to restore my trust in people overall. It seems, I keep hearing about contractors who take their clients' money-and-run every day. Well, Aqua Care, and the Irit and Raul team are definitely the exception to that trend. They came in, did what they promised they would do, and finished the project as I expected it. I now have a beautiful backyard, and have Aqua Care to thank. I am very detail oriented, and not the easiest person to keep happy. Irit and Raul's calm nature definitely was what I needed to help me complete my project. I wish I had a little more money to hire them to finish up the landscaping of my house, as I know it would turn out great. I highly recommend them to work on your next project. They definitely won't let you down. Great job, guys!!

They're great. They came out cleaned and repaired my above ground spa, as well as showing me how to use it since it was not mine to begin with. I inquired about driveway lighting, they showed me some options, quoted a decent price, I agreed and boom those things were in and look great! Really nice fun people as well.

I called them on a Tuesday and they were able to come out on that Thursday. They showed up incredibly promptly, looked at the problem, scraped some crud off the heating element, and it started heating again. Regarding the leak, he advised me that leaks can be difficult and sometimes expensive to find at $75/hour and considering it was a slow leak, recommended not doing anything and just adding water unless it got worse. We also discussed the possibility of using them as our weekly service.

Aqua Care came out within two days of my call. They arrived on time and tested the tub. Turned out the jets were just badly clogged. They only charged me $40 for the call. Nice people; I'd call them back.

They did a great job. While trying to replace the circuit board over the Thanksgiving holiday, they went above and beyond the call of duty. Parts were not available locally, so they found them in Las Vegas, ordered them at a discount and had them installed by Tuesday. Irit is very responsive and followup on all details was excellent. Highly recommend.
