Bruce was very professional, knowldegeable, and honest in all of our dealings. He worked with the very strigent guidelines our HOA imposed. He did an outstanding job on a very difficult project. Our house is three stories. You walk across a deck onto the top story of the house that is built going down the side of a mountain. We are very happy with the job Bruce did and we will definatly use his services again for all our painting needs.

Herb came out to give us an estimate and after talking to him, we decided to cancel our other estimate appointments and have him do the job. He is very easy to work with, very knowledgeable. He came out on Monday and working by himself, was finished on Tuesday. We were very happy with the results and especially the price for the job. We would definitely use him again and refer all our friends to him.

Herb did the job in 2 days and a week early ! Day one - I could tell Herb had been out because all the scraping was done; Day 2 - the house was painted and clean up complete. Very pleased with his timeliness and efficiency. I will definitely contact Herb again when I need any painting done.

I was talking with the manager at the Sherwin Williams paint store. He indicated that they type of paint Thalen wanted me to use, was the wrong choice for a wood exterior application. The manager said in 3 or 4 years the wood would start to rot, because the paint was essentially plastic. He said the water would get in, soak into the wood, and be trapped in the plastic layers. That made me question if Thalen, knew what he was doing. The paint Thalen was recommending, was more expensive than the correct type, which was rated for wood applications. Thalen came out right away for the estimate, and in my opinion, he should have known better about the paint's surface compatibility. I became even more concerned, and checked Thalen's license in the California licensing records. It showed that Thalen did not carry Workman's Compensation Insurance. If.one of his helpers gets hurt, the homeowner pays, not the uninsured contractor. This is easy to check, because it's public record.

Very pleased with work performed. Came by and washed down the front of the house before painting and did excellent job. The arbor at the side of the house extends the entire length of the house and was in need of repair before painting. Did needed repairs and an excellent job of painting. Very professional and obviousely takes a great deal of pride in his work. Would highly recommend him and will call him back if I ever need interior painting.

I have used this company in the past to paint my house & fence. They did such a nice job, I called them for more work I needed done. I received a call back within a day & had an estimate and job scheduled that week. Work quality was good & they were very professional. I'd definitely recommend them for anyone needing a professional painting service.

Herb gave me an estimate on Saturday and started work the following Monday. Although I had to be away from home most of the week, he worked every day. The first few days he spent just cleaning the brush from around the buildings. The ivy growing up the front wall was particularly tough to get off and I'm very thankful that he took care of it and I didn't have to. Once Herb got through the prep work, the painting went pretty quickly. I had some trouble deciding on the trim color but Herb was very patient and was happy to change the color. Herb's wife joined him some days to paint trim. They showed up every non-raining day and completed the job within 2 weeks. I found them to be honest, reliable and very nice. When I need to have the house interior painted I will certainly call Herb to do the job.

Herb works by himself with some help from his wife and daughter. He was conscientious about getting all the work done to my satisfaction which I appreciate. There was some misunderstanding about the color I chose for the front door, he quickly ordered the right color and it was redone. Overall he is a hard worker and did a great job of painting the house. I would consider him again for future paint jobs on my house.

Went great! I am very happy with the Thalen Brothers and definitely would use them again . I had the exterior of my house painted and since it was built before 1978 Justin was able to test for lead and work with the new lead paint restrictions. His workmanship is excellent -- including the complicated trim work,doors, and windows. He is very neat in his work and cleaned up equipment at the end of each day. He is very personable and easy to work with. I had three estimates his was the best . There were no surprises when it was time to pay. I paid a third of the cost to start with and the rest when finished. He is very trustworthy which is important to me. He began with pressure washing then scraped and primed where needed. Then he sprayed on two coats followed by hand brushing. He had to work around the rain we had which was a worry to me at first but he really knows the painting business growing up with it, and how to work around the weather. The house now looks beautiful and perfect and I am one happy camper. Although he painted the exterior after seeing his work I would also use him for interior work too. It was nice to be able to count on him being self motivated and taking care of what needed to be done in a pleasant way and his pricing was very reasonable. I know what I'm getting with Justin. He was honest reliable and did excellent work. Do's and dont's. Do try actual paint samples of paint colors on the house first. It's not free but worth it. I went to Sherwin Williams and got their samples to try on the house before selecting colors. The first choices of colors I picked were not so good so went back and got more . Tried 8 samples but the sampling was well worth it and saved time and angst in the end.

Provided a god and fair estimate. Started Job on agreed to Date. Had Rain Delays, but worked around them as best they could. Finished and detailed the job professionally. Were very pleasant to work with. Used very good quality paints, and cleaned up well.

At every step, Thalen Brothers exceeded our expectations! They had a considerably lower quote than the others I got, and their work was stellar. They started the project when they said they would, and completed it on time. Sometimes that meant that they worked late in the night (the house was empty), but they demonstrated a real committment to completing the work on time and in a quality manner. After the work was complete, we walked through the house together so they could fix anything that wasn't satisfactory. They were also completely flexible when I changed the colors - after they had painted the room! They repainted, and still finished on time! We are completely impressed, and wish we owned another house just to have the pleasure of using their painting services again!
