Thalen Painting

Herb and Bob came to my home in a timely manner and went about their business for painting the kitchen cabinets and one small wall. Also, while Herb did the interior Bob painted all the exterior trim. They showed up on time, and did a wonderful job. The neighbors complimented Bob as he was painting too. Both were very professional and did not waste time or paint. It all looks great. Would recommend to anyone.

Herb and his associate were very professional and courteous throughout the two jobs they completed. Very responsive when I asked questions. I had an issue with the color of the living room paint (lighter than what I thought) and Herb suggested a great way to fix the issue and did so for a small charge. Very pleased with the service and quality work that I received. I would definitely use him again and have already referred him to friends.

Mr. Thalen is a very talented painter, was extraordinarily quick and efficient, and was extremely professional. Entirely and thoroughly pleased with his work, his speed of getting our job done, and his attention to detail. Their results are fantastic and we would hire them again in a heartbeat. Received a bid from Herb on interior work. Competitive bid and went out of his way to meet me onsite while in town. Went with another provider that was local since there was follow up work to be done around other projects.

I called talked to him on a Sat afternoon he said he would be out next Sat or the Sat after but would call before he came I never called never came

Herb responded when I needed a job done quickly. I appreciated that. His price was higher than the other quotes I got, but due to time I used him. He waited patiently as I asked him to make sure he covered spots. He did so without agitation.

Everything went very well and I would use them again.

While Herb is a nice guy, we had to fire him after 4 weeks because of the excessive amount of sloppy work and inattention to detail. Herb came with a "crew" who were very inexperienced painters who did very little prep, and made numerous errors that they ended up spending way more time fixing then the prep work would have taken in the first place. As we were not at the house every day, my contractor had to come to me to let me know about some huge problems. One painter had apparently painted a door shut, and then kicked it repeatedly with her foot to try to get it open again. There was no tape or cover for the windows, and we have paint, and spray from the paint sprayer all over our window. When we brought it up with Herb, he said, "I will fix it no problem." But it kept happening- nothing was prepped or protected, and now we have paint spray on our stone fireplace which will never come off. We are now paying a professional painter to go back through the house and correct all of his mistakes. We have ended up spending much more time and money. Again, Herb is a nice person, however he needs to learn how to properly prep, clean up, paint accurately and hire competent workers. He has caused us a massive headache in our renovation process.

He was good. The price was great. He got out there quickly and did his job. I would give him a good rating.

It was excellent! I will certainly use them again and I recommend them to all the people as well.

They haven't gotten back afterwards and then he ended up coming back and I really didn't want him to come back again and I wasn't sure about what he do in regards to the review. I didn't want to do anything really negative but as far as the review is concerned I just haven't got him come back and gone missing about it. He ended up painting the shed and he just act 5 things that way after the paint. He didn't like the purple pot he gives me the flower pot, we only have two shads he ended up doing that that's why after we hire them to do that too because that was needed. It would be if it didn't value for the money because that was a lot cheaper then. We painted a lot of extras and to go, he would need to make sure I'd want the people to know that I'm hiring him that he could do the crap work shop as he wants something has done before the painting. For example portrait, they would find that make sure that you did it before he comes because he does not do that and he did make it clear but there was face that he have had felt that he wouldn't do. They just make sure I'd want them to know to make sure that you do the proper work and also that you would actually go and put that by yourself. You need to make sure that you cover your own windows and you cover your back or whatever. Just make sure that you're the person to do because you can't count on him to do that or to clean up either. If he does know something he would go back. That's why he doesn't wear glasses. I would use him again in the future.

We had our roof replaced before the house painting was to begin and Herb was very patient and willing to work with the schedule that over ran daily for a week. Herb used nothing but the best paint in my opinion (Kelly Moore Acry -Shield). We have a two story house that had a lot of challenges and Herb stepped up to the plate.

They were on time, pleasant & professional. They worked the whole time they were at our house & finished in record time. We were very pleased with the results. We are planning to use him for another project, which will start 6/16/2014. You will hear from me again after the completion of this job.

How'd it go? It went well, really well. From my first contact with Herb Thalen I felt I could trust him. He has a friendly way about him, and he addressed my concerns easily and patiently. He gave me his opinion regarding my color choices, and we discussed schedules. I was not under a tight time schedule; thus, I was able to give Herb a wide window in which to chose his time, but he got the job done within two weeks of our intial meeting. It was important to me to have someone working on my home that I liked, and the other individuals who worked with Herb were also equally careful, respectful, pleasant and friendly. One day they were working in 106 degree heat, and I did not hear one complaint. The job took three days from start to finish. There were no paint splatters, my plants were draped and unharmed, and the house looks remarkable. Herb gave me an estimate, and he did not change it. I would not hesitate to recommend Thalen Painting as a provider. He is a really nice man, and a fine craftsman.

He was very thorough and timely. I would definitely recommend them.

Started fast. Got the quote one day and work was started the next day.My wife and I removed items that were hanging in the way. Herb did the pressure washing as soon as everything was clear. He asked for help when it was time to replace the 2 x 6's for the eve. Then he did the prep work and did the painting. When the painting was completed my wife and I looked over everything and found a few areas that needed touch up. He took care of everything. My wife and I did cleanup from paint spills but were still happy with the price and the new look. The job started on 5/7/13 and was completed on 5/15/13. We are happy with the work that was done. 06/09/13 Less than 1 month after having our house painted we noticed bubbles under the new paint on our railing and noticed some areas that weren't painted at all. We contacted Herb Thalen of Thalen Painting and brought it to his attention. We were told that when the weather changes in a month the bubbles should disappear. I told Herb the bubbles were sealed air pockets due to the paint not bonding to the rail. I was told he couldn't com and correct the problem for a month because he is busy now.

Thalen Painting gave a quote by pictures I sent without visiting the property. He was on time and the tenants told me it was a good job. But he left one wall unfinished and told me the initial quote was too low as he didn't estimate accurately based on the photos. I had to pay extra in order to finish that wall so that the whole downstairs is in the same color. I didn't get to see it myself as the house was rented out. Overall both the agent and tenant said it was a good job.

This a professional who is detailed, patient and a super responsive person to deal with. He is meticulous which is why he chooses to do the work himself. Great job, Great value and Great guy. Do yourself a favor and give this painter a shot. You will not go wrong. If there are things you see that you are not satisfied with, he will go back and redo. He is intent on making the customer happy.

Herb was able to give me an immediate estimate and was able to get started on the job the following day. He is very professional and straightforward. He was able to match the colors perfectly and the house looks great! Totally easy and painless, and the price was $800 below the other bid I got (the third contractor I had scheduled to bid never even showed up). Would definitely recommend Thalen Painting.

He gave us a quote which was a good deal per a relative who is in the business.Thalen Painting is a family run business and the end result was great. We had a communication problem with color scheme in one room but when it was pointed out it was corrected the next day. Great work and I'd use them again. The only thing I'd do different is make sure my requests were understood.
