I hired Doug McConnell to install vinyl flooring in my kitchen after another worker had ruined the job. I cannot recommend him highly enough. I was putting inexpensive sheet vinyl in an area where it was hard to install it in one piece. The previous guy (Ron Kilgore) put a lumpy seam in the middle of the floor, tore the vinyl, installed it so it wasn't level and left lots of shiny permanent glue on the floor. I bought more flooring and hired Doug to do it over. Doug's level of expertise was immediately apparent. He spent a long time looking at the floor and explaining what was done wrong and how it could be fixed. He quickly scoped out the house and figured out how he could get the vinyl into the kitchen in one piece (by rolling it up and inserting it through a small window!) For a very reasonable price he took up the old flooring and installed the new vinyl perfectly. He was kind, generous and so easy to work with. He's been installing flooring for about 30 years and really knows his work. He's usually busy, for good reason, so call in advance.

Overall, they did not show up on time both days. The quality of the installation process was very good. They disconnected, moved, and reconnected the affected appliances with no problems.
Description of Work: Ceramic tile was installed. Installer and I had problems communicating regarding decorative pieces I wanted installed in between the floor tiles. This is not an odd or infrequent request. People want decorative pieces placed within their tile quite often. For some reason he did not make it clear to me that the decorative pieces would throw off the alignment of the tiles. I was watching the installation process and had the installer stop placing the decorative pieces when the job was half finished. I then had him finish the remainder of the tile without the decorative pieces. They would have charged me quite a bit more to remove the decorative pieces and re-do the first half of the job. I did not want to pay any additional money, so I just left it the way it was. It looks good in spite of the misalignment of the tiles, but I won't use this company again.

Outstanding!
Description of Work: Doug McConnell is the consummate professional. I had him remove and replace the vinyl flooring in both bathrooms. When he discovered wetness in the sub-floor of master bath, he knew exactly what to do and how to explain the process to my wife and me. He was meticulous in all that he did from cutting out the pattern to installing new baseboard and reinstalling the toilet with some special plumbing "know-how". He completed the project in record time and under budget. Doug it the best contractor I have ever used and would not hesitate to recommend him to anybody.

They were extremely professional and knowledgeable. They took time to explain everything in detail and even gave us the option to do some things ourselves to save a little money. The project was done in a timely manner and the end product looks fantastic. They took into account all of the details from grout color and width to how it would work with our existing design scheme. Above the job, they offered some help and advice to us with a few other renovation projects not related to their contract. We are very pleased MD Flooring's work.
Description of Work: They installed hardie board, porcelain tile and grout in our kitchen, dining area and laundry room.
