The guy who came out was able to arrive within 30 mins of my call, he was nice, and that's where the good ends. $250 for 40 mins of work is criminal. This is an industry that holds you hostage to your own repair needs. You get to choose between astronomical rates and sewage pouring into your house. He left me to repair and fix the pipe he dug up and knocked a hole into fire the rooting. Told me to unfold a soda can, use that to cover the hole, and then just pile dirt on top of it. For $250 you'd think the repair guy could do that little bit of repair. I would highly suggest replacing your dispatcher (who seemed very annoyed to have to field my call early on a Sunday morning.... get a different job?) position with a customer service representative position, who actually has knowledge of the company and can answer questions before being charged for a site visit. I challenge you to be better, but you won't because $$$$

I cannot say enough good things about this company! They arrive on time. They are super knowledgeable and kind. They explain repairs and give options. The quality of their work is excellent! We had a toilet (40+ years old) that needed replacing, another one (25+ years old) that needed repairs, and then the morning of the appointment our water heater (8 years old) stopped working! Talk about frustrating and inconvenient! We called the morning of the appointment to let them know about the water heater. They came prepared for a replacement (which we did need). Additional issues popped up when trying to replace the toilet and they had to make an additional run for more parts. When the second toilet decided not to work well with the new repairs, they went out, picked up a new toilet, and installed it for us instead of requiring us to pick one up and make an additional appointment for it. When we panicked a bit about the estimated cost, they talked us through it in a kind, empathetic, patient and non-pushy way. The final cost was fair and below the estimate. All work was done efficiently and in a timely manner. The guys went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that repairs were done well, done right, and everything was running properly before they left. I had started that morning in tears of frustration. I ended the day in tears of thankfulness! I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing plumbing services and they are number one on my list if/when we need any additional work at our house. Thank you SO MUCH Herk's Plumbing!

this company cancelled on me twice for a simple alcove bathtub installation. after herk came to provide an estimate, i waited several days before calling to ask for the estimate to be sent. i wrote back that i accepted the estimate and asked for my work to be placed on the schedule, verified how they prefer to be paid, etc. several days later i was given an installation date. that initial process took, i would say, a couple of weeks which is certainly not unreasonable as plumbers are always very busy. on the day the work was to be performed (installation of an alcove bathtub), mid-way through the arrival window i had voicemail stating somebody had called in sick so my work was being rescheduled to a week later. i guess it takes longer than many other plumbing tasks, but a week seems a bit long to wait. in any event, this meant i needed to reschedule the other trades as installation of the bathtub was critical path on the project...everything else has to wait for the bathtub installation. today was when the work was rescheduled. herk and one other employee arrived a few minutes early, which is a plus when hiring people to do work in your home. on the way to look at the bathroom where the tub would go, i mentioned i had purchased bubble wrap for the tub to help prevent scratching and/or other damage which could potentially take place during installation. herk stated he "was not comfortable with this" as he walked into the bathroom. he said, "the risks outweigh the benefits" several times and that nobody would be happy in the end. i asked three times what EXACTLY he meant. he meant that he wasn't going to try to not scratch or damage my brand new bathtub, and the implication was that it's an unreasonable request to have your brand new expensive materials remain in brand new condition. he also mocked me, in a specifically condescending tone of voice as a child or mean girl would do, and said, "not one tiny scratch...not one little scratch", as if people spend thousands to remodel a bathroom only to have their materials damaged while being installed. it is not unreasonable to expect a brand new bathtub to remain in brand new condition for a brand new bathroom. a quick search on "bathtub protection" tells us it's an actual thing with actual products to help. backstory: when the house was built, the bathtub installer and subsequent trades scratched and chipped my bathtub. the builder had it patched and assured me it would be good as new. of course it was always splotchy in color and ultimately cracked where a "scratch" had gone through the surface to the fiberglass underneath. after many years of living with that, and the water which leaked under the tub as a result of the crack, the bathroom is being remodeled at great expense. you cannot remove/replace an alcove bathtub without removing/replacing ALL of the surrounding material which is installed on top of the bathtub. it is expensive, time consuming, and inconvenient, so it needs to be done properly and without disrespect to what the homeowner is spending and experiencing. scratches, regardless of the size, allow soaps and oils to be absorbed, the surface and what's underneath, when exposed, oxidize differently, which in turn discolors the bathtub. we had discussed my concerns when herk came to look at the project in order to provide the estimate for the work. he said he could use moving blankets to help prevent damage during installation. that seemed like a good suggestion, and i appreciated the idea, thinking it would work just fine. i was simply going to supplement that with bubble wrap. after i waited several weeks, including a week due to the first cancellation, he now cancelled again because he can't NOT damage the tub? he's not even going to try? what a horrible experience. i am extremely angry because herk did not even show a willingness to try to prevent damage to my new materials and because of the weeks of my time he has wasted, and further, the delay to my project and the schedules of other trades involved in this remodel. i swore at them as they left my home, and i don't care what they think of that. they are hideous, and if you expect to be so disrespectful to a homeowner as herk has been, you can count on people being angry and deal with the consequences. can't wait to read his excuses for being an unprofessional, disrespectful jerk. UPDATE: regarding herk's response, he was obviously champing at the bit waiting for a yelp review to show up, as his response showed up minutes after i posted it. i was satisfied with the explanation of the installation process, and as i mentioned, i was satisfied with his suggestion for preventing damage to my bathtub. if he didn't want the job, he should have said so to begin with and not sent an estimate, not scheduled the work, and not scheduled the work again. it would have saved us all a great deal of time

Overall this was a satisfactory project. The main, outside faucet continues to leak and I wish they had identified and corrected that problem.
Description of Work: I needed a leaking faucet repaired at the front of the house I purchased. I called the plumber recommended by the Realtor and he was available and arrived promptly at the scheduled time. He and his assistant checked all of the inside water fixtures to ensure that they were working and there were no leaks. They identified another potential leak inside the house where the dishwasher had been disconnected and fixed that problem.
