+ -1 moreMy mistake was not getting a written contract as well as paying him in advance, but it was because it was on a Friday and we we're leaving town. I didn't expect so many problems with such a simple job. I have contacted several other landscape companies and they all would finish removing the stump for as little as $300. I attempted to contact them to negotiate some way for them to finish or to pay for someone else to finish the job they were paid to do, but they no longer return my phone calls.
Description of Work: He was hired to remove a large tree. His quote was the same as a reputable landscape service I had used in the past but they offered a discount for 1st time customer, so we verbally agreed on service. There was no paperwork done. They showed up and completed the service and removed the tree, except for the stump. They said they had problems with the stump because it was so old and their equipment could not handle it. After a couple of feeble attempts to remove the stump, they gave up and stopped returning my phone calls to complete the job.
