The quality was excellent and the workmanship was great.

Their work was great. They stripped the chair and ottoman down to the frames and completely rebuilt the springs and padding, as well as recovering both. Elaine was great at recommending fabrics (and they have tons of different ones) and guided us to one we love. High quality, practical, made in America and beautiful. The chair is a family heirloom of 60-70 years. Now it is better than ever. And better than anything we saw in furniture stores. It looks and feels great! This was not cheap in any sense. We paid a reasonable price for truly outstanding work. We will have Howard's do our next upholstery job.

The lady (Elaine) who helped me was extremely conscientious and paid attention to all my requirements. Her suggestions for fabric and shape were insightful. We've been using these cushions for several months and have been delighted on how well they fit. For example, the bar stool cushions don't slide which is great since I have kids getting on and off them!

From the beginning, my roommate and I were treated very well. We brought a chair cushion and pictures of the chair. The decorator helped us pick out fabrics (not her fault that we have expensive tastes). We purchased the fabric and because it was mid December, we were told that if we were willing to wait until after the holidays they would pick up the chair and return it during the same week.) The chair was picked up on Monday morning, Jan. 9th and returned on Friday morning, Jan. 13. Their work is impeccable. It is a beautiful, very comfortable piece of furniture. When you look at the picture of the chair you will be able to see how beautifully the pattern lines up, which does contribute to both the cost of the material and the construction, but well worth it. The experience with the company is very positive. I would recommend them to anyone who loves good furniture.

They did a beautiful job, and we are again, very pleased! It is best to make an appointment because Elaine is very experienced in fabric and can help you find what is best. The price included pick up, making arm covers, Scotchguarding afterwards, and delivery. They also repaired 1 dining room chair for $120. Be sure to mention Angie's List and they will give you a discount. We preferred having the wing chairs redone so we could select exactly the kind/color of fabric we wanted, and it was a wise decision! The new furniture sold now is not as well built as the older, solid hardwood framed upholstered ones. The price varies by the quality and price of the fabric that is chosen.

The work was excellent. He finished it on schedule. They were courteous and helpful in picking out the fabric and with recommendations and guiding us. When they started out to do the reupholstery they weren't satisfied with the way it was turning out. So they called us and had us come down and pick a different kind of fabric.

Great ! Elaine was professional and wonderful to work with. She kept her promise to have my items done on a specific date. Howard's prices were comparable, even a little cheaper than other upholstery companies I have used in the past. Their quality of workmanship was excellent. I would highly recommend them.

A bit more than I wanted to spend on them but in the end they look better than any thing I could have purchased for the price and we really appreciated that they are more concerned with quality than price when it come to the material that they use.

They were easy to deal with and responsive to requests and concerns. It took a bit longer than expected to order the material and from pick-up to delivery. But I am very pleased with the outcome. It's quality work.

The process was seamless. I went to the shop to make an inquiry about their services. Elaine showed me fabric options and various pricing points for them. She let me take several fabric samples home with me (at not charge or even a deposit) to see them in the room where the sofa would be. We also scheduled an in-home estimate at that time. Even though I had pictures of the sofa, they wanted to see it in person. Tavy came out to do the estimate and to check the soundness of the sofa-bed, which was made in 1995. Tavy's first concern was the soundness of the sofa-bed. He told me that if the sofa wasn't sound, it wouldn't be worthwhile to invest in it. Upon inspection, he said that it had "great bones" and that it would be a good candidate for keeping. Because the fabric I chose was a plaid pattern it has to be matched at many points, the work was a bit more extensive and I had six loose back cushions that I wanted changed to two fitted ones for the back. When he gave me the quote I thought the price may have been on the high side, but I had been looking at new sofa-beds from many quality stores and found them to be less in quality and more than double the price of reupholstering with quality fabric of my choosing. They picked up and delivered the sofa as promised. The work was completed on time and the quality of the product was outstanding. The attention to detail was great. The pattern matched up all the way around, even in spots that you couldn't see unless you removed all the cushions and opened up the bed. The welts were done so well that event the plaid pattern matched at every point. If you are looking for a "cheap" job, this is not the place for you. But, if you are looking for a fair priced service that truly has craftsmanship as its hallmark, this IS the place. My grandfather had a saying, "You don't always get what you pay for, but you always pay for what you get." And what you get at Howard's is QUALITY.

Howard's were so professional and nice. I wanted the pieces before I left on my trip and they got them here in time. I really love this company. They were nice and helpful and willing to go above and beyond fo me. I would and do recommend this store to anyone who is looking for great work to be done on their furniture.

I gave them information to get a quote on 3 small chair and an ottoman and he was polite. A week later I still received no response. When I called to find out why, he said he would get back with me in 5 minutes. He did call back 30 minutes later and quoted a price of $6040.00 without fabric. Thats more than double the price of 4 other quotes I recieved. I dont know what kind of job they do, but with that price I'll never know. I have multiple custom upholstered items in my home, so Im not a stranger to this process and I have no idea why the price seems so out of line with other Upholstery places. Good Luck Howards...

These people are truly professionals in all aspects. I felt comfortable at all times in dealing with them.

This piece of living room furniture, which matched our sofa, didn't get a lot of use. But our Schnoodle did a good job of trashing the seat cushion one day when we failed to put up the gate from the family room and left the house to run errands. After searching Angie's List we contacted Howard's and set a date to take the chair and matching ottoman for an estimate. Elaine did a patient but thorough job of helping select a fabric that fit our budget and decor, while Tazy took detailed measurements. We left the chair with Howard's and they set to work. The reupholstering was finished in a couple of weeks, when they said it would, and we are very happy with the results. We would use them again, and highly recommend the firm.

Overall it was a fantastic experience. Tavy the owner came out promptly to quote the entire project and to give me fabric yardages needed for the job. I purchased my fabrics from Calico Corners when they were on sale at 25 percent discount. Howard's told me that they could not beat that price. They did a few pieces at a time. Some of my fabric was on back order. They would deliver the finished pieces and then pick up more pieces to recover as my fabric arrived. They kept me informed of the status and always met their estimated delivery date. This is a family business and they will do their very best to make you happy with their work. You can visit their shop any time and check on the progress. I would highly recommend them and I will definitely use them again.

Everything went very well. Elaine is a pleasure to work with. She is patient and has great taste. She gave me lots of ideas for my pillows from fabric and trim selection to size, shape, and placement. Although I don't think Howard's prices are the best you can find, it's worth spending a bit more to get great service. Elaine let me take books of fabric home to see them in the setting in which they would be placed and also let me borrow a finished pillow to check the size. Howard's has many books of fabric and she was able to narrow down choices so that I could be efficient in going through them. When I was not able to find a trim I liked for the price point I wanted, she gave me ideas about where to look and one of them panned out for me. She also suggested the size of pillow inserts to use to get the look I wanted. I was extremely pleased with the end result and would definitely recommend them to others. Although my only experience with Howard's has been with pillows, I expect to use them for different projects in the future.

I was very satisfied with their work. They helped me select new material on the shop floor, and did an excellent job making the chairs look like new. They also accepted order changes without any problem, and gave me a credit for one chair I decided not to reupholster.
