We like the look of the kitchen. However: As with half of the contractors we checked out...the 'best'cabinets were promoted as "...better finish from out of state." We foolishly chose that 'better' cabinet line, and only found out that they were 'made in China' when they arrived. We personally would have chosen 'custom' or the best American made product had we known what 'out of state' meant. I waited 35 years to redo our kitchen. Now, with only 2 of us in the house, after less than 2 years, the finish is noticeably chipping off under the drawer pulls. Floor Gallery owner, Mark Hamilton, showed us that the same thing happened to their 'in store' example cabinets, and to camouflage the damage with a touch up stick. By the way, my nails are soft and shorter than my fingers. Also, each week we typed out a list of questions to help with the process and the products we needed to choose. These questions were rarely answered until after we needed answers. E.g. We asked 3 times for pricing on cabinet hardware, got no answer, finally ordered them ourselves on line. Under cabinet LED lighting was another issue. The workmen were ready to install a less desirable version, until we ran down better quality strips and brought them in. Shouldn't they have known or shown us the optimum type/quality to choose from. We were told we could leave the house as the work progressed, but we stayed on site and decisions/choices came up every day...it was good we were there. Maybe all of the above is usual...but it shouldn't be. We have 3 bathrooms left to do. Maybe they will get done, maybe not. We have referred noone to the Floor Gallery. We would not use them again for all of the reasons above. A shame to learn after the fact. We needed to work with a contractor who thoroughly knew products available, who could honestly advise us as to choices and who was in daily communication, ready to advise and make changes. Now, we have a damaged kitchen, using inferior products...after waiting 35 years. Very disheartening.

-Mis-measurement of cabinets (which could not be fixed without major rework) -Mismatch of stains on doors and cabinets -In correct hanging of cabinet doors -Mismanagement of project (like none, we had to find every error and ask the workers to fix them) -No understanding of wood work (suggested oil for cleaning vs wet rag that was suggested by installer) -No suggested resolution of issues that could not be fixed and intimidating response to attempt to resolve. Low cost bid and push for work won them the work. No follow through and mismanagement resulted in ratings.
