CLEAN SWEEP CHIMNEY AND DRYER VENT SERVICE

I'm really behind on writing my reviews, so I am writing this on 11/2017 though the service was performed 1/2016. Everything went well and Claudio was professional, thorough, neat and friendly. The fireplace/chimney cleaning price of $119 I thought was reasonable after shopping around. When Claudio went up on the roof, he said I didn't have a spark arrestor on the chimney but fortunately he carried some on his truck. I was surprised that it cost $200, but since he was already here, I had him install it because I trusted him when he said he charges a competitive price. He also checked the condition of the bricks of the chimney stack and noted there were cracks in the mortar that should be sealed within a few years. We talked about converting to gas logs so Claudio removed the wood burning stuff and capped off the gas. He wrote down the name of a popular gas log set at Home Depot, and said when I get the set to call him back for installation. Well, I got sidetracked with my house remodel, so I only just recently purchased them, but I will be calling him soon! My only negative remark is that when I had my roof inspected this year (2017), they found the old chimney cap still laying up there on the roof, but no biggie, stuff happens!

On time, professional with helpful tips. I needed a chimney cap and they had one on their truck for immediate installation. Gave me a lead for another company that can fix my faulty fireplace gas valve. My plumber was unable to fix it.

Claudio was polite and professional and took the time to explain the features of the fireplaces and how to maintain them. (We just bought the home.) He suggested painting one firebox to improve its appearance and we were pleased with the result. He went about his work efficiently and we were happy to have all the work done in one afternoon.

Clean Sweep's staff quickly responded via Angie's List messaging feature. They quoted over messaging, and scheduled an appointment for a few days later (on a Sunday at 10 am, 8/30/15). Claudio arrived right on time, and was very considerate in keeping things clean by taking off shoes, and laying down blankets around the chimney. He brought all his own equipment, and gave us a great education on how chimneys work, what our particular set up consisted of, explained what he found and cleaned, and how best to use it going forward. We had a great experience, and would recommend Claudio's company to anyone.

He spent almost two hours trying to find a blocked vent. He checked under the house and even the roof exhaust. He found that a vent came apart somewhere in the house .We will have to have our homeowner association send someone to repair it and then will call Claudio Alonzo (the owner of the company) to come back out and finish cleaning the vents. He told us not to write a check because he couldn't finish the job until the vent was fixed. Almost two hours and he didn't charge a cent. We definitely will call him once the vent is fixed and highly recommend his company.

Claudio arrived and set up for the cleaning by covering everything around the fireplace to keep it all clean. He examined the fireplace and flu for problems and made suggestions as how to keep the fireplace from developing problems in the future. He went ahead and cleaned out the fireplace and also made suggestions as to how to start a fire and keep it going. Overall I was very happy with the service I received. Claudio was very professional. He didn't try to push any extra products on me like I have experienced with other chimney sweeps. I will be using this company next year to clean my chimney.

We received a call prior to our appt. time saying that Claudio was running ahead could we accomodate an earlier time. Yes, Claudio arrived on time, and went right to work. We have moved our furniture from around the fireplace to provide ample work space. Very nice, very knowledgeable, to the point, very helpful and out the door. A specific service the way it is supposed to be delivered by someone who knows his craft.

We bought our house almost a year ago, but have never run the fireplace in the family room or master bedroom. Since the sellers were pigs and didn't take care of the house very well, I didn't even know if they worked or not. A friend recommended Clean Sweep after they did her place as part of the homeowner's association. I called the office and told them I wasn't sure whether the chimney even needs cleaning (as a neighbor said they don't need it) and she said that it's a $50 service charge call, and if it needed cleaning, it would be $109, and no service charge. I was very impressed with today's service! The office called to tell me that Claudio was running ahead of schedule, and would it be okay to come by now? Since I was home, sure! Took off his shoes at the door, and was very thorough in explaining the workings of the fireplace, since I really had no clue. He explained how much of the family room fireplace was still in great condition (great! not trying to pad the bill!). But that our gas fireplace needed a $55 kit in order for it to work properly (something about silica sand or something like that). He also explained how many are switching out their gas fireplaces for wood (I thought, here it comes!) and explained that since having wood in the fireplace is a combustible material, it would give off more heat than just the gas logs. (Meaning, we could feel the heat from the couch, not just right in front of it.). That was a $55 charge to switch out the gas line, which I thought was reasonable. So we switched it to wood, and he cleaned it all out, and it looks like new! So $109 plus the $55 to switch it to a wood burning fireplace. Unfortunately he wasn't able to do anything to our upstairs fireplace, as apparently the previous owners, who had redone the fireplace with new tile, tiled over the panel that would give him access to get to the gas starter. He didn't charge us for checking this fireplace out, and recommended that I get a plumber in to access the gas line; he even said if I had a plumber out and they had any questions, to call him. Clearly the previous owners did not use the fireplaces (he found almost a dozen small plastic toys behind the gas logs in the one downstairs - crazy!) but now when the temps dip down again, we are all set with a working fireplace at least in the family room. And Claudio spent the time to explain how to work the fireplace downstairs, and recommended where to get good firewood. I would highly recommend Claudio and Clean Sweep to anyone who is looking for cleaning or service on a fireplace!

He was right on time and very thorough. Cleaned and inspected the chimney, roof around the chimney, everything. Also it was so convenient that he came on a Saturday as we were having a hard time workign around our schedules.

He came early, very professional and knowledgeable. He explained to me about why the fireplaced looked the way it did and offered the option of painting it black. He didn't try to sell me anything but did show me how it would look nicer if it were finished off properly with the glowing embers and the rising plate for my logs. The price was perfect, and with the little I spent extra, it looks like a whole new fireplace - it is owner operated and Claudio is the real deal. I wouldn't use anyone else. There is not one big of dirt or mess left from what could b a very messy job.

He arrived early for our appointment. He was wonderful. He showed and explained every thing to me. He even checked my gas pipe. He didn't try to sell me anything.

They were very professional and came right out. They were very clean. They explained all the defects of he chimney and what we should do about it. They gave us a pamphlet and explained everything. The work was excellent. They were thorough, knowledgeable and professional.

I CALL HIM WHEN I NEED IT. IT'S GOOD, AND HE DOES A GOOD JOB. HE KEEPS EVERYTHING CLEAN AND DOESN'T GET ANYTHING MESSY. HE IS VERY EXPERIENCED IN WHAT HE DOES.
