Description of Work: Replaced/expanded front step and replaced sidewalk leading to front door and along back side of house with new concrete and flagstone ribbons; Replaced bushes and edging in front of house; replaced bushes along side of house; installed lighting leading to front door and 2 focus lights. |I obtained CENTOLELLA LANDSCAPING through Landscape Locators. Ralph Centolella's crew showed up on time; worked consistently and finished the project in a reasonable amount of time. They were great in that respect. However, there were some issues. I was surprised when it came time to plant the bushes that his crew asked me where they should go since I was not involved in selecting the bushes. That was another issue...Ralph got bushes that were on a "draft plan" created by Landscape Locators for submittal to my homeowner's association. I was told by Landscape Locators that Ralph would select the final bushes in consultation with me. Some miscommunication because that did not happen. My fault...I should have insisted they be returned since I was not consulted, but thought Ralph had selected them using his experience and knowledge and did not realize until after they were in that they were the bushes on the "draft plan". Also, my contract with Ralph included 8 Malibu or focus lights. I questioned him when only 3 malibu (and 2 focus) lights were installed since I wanted lots of lighting along the sidewalk. He told me that would provide plenty of lighting. It definitely does not! Ralph did come out shortly after completion to get the transformer working properly and then was kind enought to replace a light that had gotten broken. However, he would not replace a bush that was not doing well. Getting ahold of him on these issues was difficult as he has a tendency not to return voice messages. I am out now about 10 months from project completion. I have a sidewalk with pilling and "scratch" marks (that I pointed out just after pouring and was told they would go away), a focus light that doesn't work correctly and one dead bush..the one that was not healthy from the start. After several phone calls, Ralph texted me that he would replace the bush for $75. I have not heard back from him regarding the sidewalk or light, but only called him 4 days ago about those 2 issues. The hardscape looks nice from the street, just don't look too close. In the next year, I plan on replacing some of the bushes. I have overcrowding and too much green with no color.
