 + -1 moreThey came out whenever I wanted them to and spent a lot of time. They killed every termite they discovered. It was part of our yearly contract, so it was free. They came out the day after I called them. I have recommended them to other friends who also like them.

Description of Work: I have been using the Terminex monthly service at my Burbank home, for the last year. They have been horrible and very lazy with the services. For instance putting a little spray out front, and never even coming through my back gate...now keep in mind my service was mainly for rat control, so spray was not going to do anything to fix that. Anyway, my Mom had asked me for months to try Ecola because she kept hearing about them on the radio. I finally made the call and I am so happy that I gave them a try! Alex came out bright and early and immediately acessed the problem. The rats have multiplied over the months, due to fact that Terminex never did their job. Alex closed the small places of entry and put out boxes to kill the pests and fix the problem. Thank you Ecola!!

 + -1 moreOur experience with this company was unfortunate and I wouldn't recommend them. We had to hire another company to tent our home.
Description of Work: Had a 1500 sqaure foot single-family residence heat-treated. This process was a failure for two reasons. We sustained damage to finishes in our home. Additionally, the treatment was ineffective. We were observing signs of termites almost immediately (i.e. wings & live insects inside our home). No appropriate resolution offered when complaint was escalated to managment.

 + -1 moreOverall the job they did was nice. We like that they use as much eco friendly chemicals as possible and so that’s mainly why we went with them. Even though other companies do that also but we just decided to go with them. Everything was fine with them. They set an appointment and the representative came out. They then did the work. I didn’t do much comparison with their prices. We will use their services again in the future.

 + -1 moreI was really happy with Ecola Termite & Pest Management. Their price was less than everybody else and they gave me a two year warranty. They also did a very thorough job. When another company advised me to do termite control for the entire house even though I had termite problem only in the basement. Ecola told me that I don’t have to do the entire house and their price was much reasonable compared to other companies. I will use them in the future.

 + -1 moreThe technician arrived at the appointed time and got to work right away. He worked very h****** the interior beams and was very neat and cleaned up. He explained where there had been some damage to the wood and what to do. He then sprayed under the house paying attention to the the areas that had concerned me as I had noticed some activity there. He was very nice and polite. The only concern I have is the price which may be standard but it is a lot for seniors to pay.
Description of Work: An electric charge was applied to the beams in my ceiling as I had noticed droppings there. It killed some termites. Then an insecticide was sprayed underneath my house.

 + -1 moreI first used Ecola when I noticed termites in my house up in the hill. I had a dog and had read that dogs are sensitive to toxins. Between me and my dog I wanted to use something as least toxic as possible. Because of the hill, tenting would have been very difficult (and I found in my research that tenting is usually overkill --no pun intended). Ecola spot treats and for a yearly cost guarantees coverage. They come out and inspect the house. We have wood shingles, wood decks, wood floors and they have effectively spot treated everything for years now. They've even looked at places they 'don't cover' to make sure there's no damage. I would totally recommend them.
Description of Work: They spot treated some termites that were under the house (we saw the 'droppings' come up from the wood floor).

 + -1 moreThe services were performed according to specifications and was completed in a timely manner. Everyone was professional. They no longer do the cosmetic repairs, but did fill the holes in the walls and baseboards where the foam was injected. Everyone was courteous and helpful. The work included a 2 year guarantee with optional renewable annual contract. I was satisfied with the work done.

 + -1 moreThey are good. We use them because they are good. They come out every year. We didn't spend anything when they came out because we have an annual contract and it is part of the contract. They are very responsive when we find termites which seem to be everywhere and they fix it. They are good. They have couple different methods of eradication. They use the electro gun and they use the good old chemicals. They do what we want. Sometimes they are a little slow. They come when they say they will. It just takes some time for them to tell me when they are coming.
Description of Work: We use Ecola Termite & Pest Management in Mission Hills for pest control. They came out 3 months ago and took care of a termite problem we had.

 + -1 moreDing d***! I called them to get another regular service bid thinking they seemed "green." I ended up leaving message. Eventually they left me a message back and it was obvious that the girl (very young) who left me the message was also talking to someone else in the office at the same time. I decided not to call them back. Well the same girl called me back. When I asked her what makes their service eco-friendly, she said, "well I'm just the receptionist [with a giggle] and I would have to ask a technician to explain that to me so I could tell you, would you like me to do that?" I said, yes! She came back and gave me a reasonable explanation about their use of botanicals. When I told her I would like an estimate and asked if they could come on a Saturday, she said yes. She asked me where I lived, I told her in the Tarzana area, she asked, "is that near Carson?" When I said no, she said that it would take a couple weeks before they could give me an estimate then. I said, no thank you, I'd hire someone else by then. What does this company not understand about Customer Service?

 + -1 more1. The excellent work Ecola did on my roof did not cost me any money because it was covered by the service contract. 2. I received an original quote of $150 to go to the house to do the inspection and then it cost an additional $350 to pull out the rotted wood in one of the posts holding up the back patio, replace the wood and paint it white to match. Everything was done quickly, efficiently, and for a good price so I was able to close escrow on schedule.
Description of Work: I have had a service contract with Ecola since 1995. Annually an inspector (ask for Joe) is scheduled and he does a very thorough inspection of the interior, attic, and under the house (raised foundation). When termites are found (none in the house for the last 2 years) the service work is done by another employee who only uses non-toxic materials which is very important to me due to chemical sensitivity and having 2 cats. In August I had Ecola do 2 unexpected rush jobs for me: 1. I was putting on a new roof when the roofer told me that there was evidence of termites in the plywood when the old roof was taken off. I called Ecola, someone came out the next morning and was on the roof of my house and garage applying the non-toxic termite killing stuff for 3 hours. The roofer commented on how thorough Ecola was even though I was not present since I was at work. 2. I was in escrow to buy a house when the termite report of another company indicated evidence of termites and recommended tenting the house at a cost of $1800. I could not do that with tenants in the house. I called Ecola and was given the cel number for the employee working that area (not near my residence), I told him the situation and he went to the house the next day and did find evidence of termites which I authorized him to take care of using non-toxic materials so that the tenants did not have to move out.

 + -1 moreThe tenant wasn't there as predetermined to perform the initial inspection. My bad. The tenant and inspector ended up arranging the next inspection. I didn't hear from the inspector again. Later the tenant told me an inspection was done on 16 July, 4 days earlier. I called the company and requested a report. The receptionist stated the report had been mailed. She agreed to also e-mail me a copy, but I never did receive the e-mailed report. Once received the report was throrough but the bid was 20% above the other bids, so we went with a different company.
Description of Work: I requested a termite inspection and quote for treatment.

 + -1 moreThey offer a non-toxic formula that we use, and so far it's worked so well that they've never had to spray the inside. Every month they call to see if I need to set up an appointment or not. When the workers come they make sure that we know that they have stopped by. They then check around the perimeter and make sure they are not needed inside.

 + -1 moreThis was the first time I had used their services. This company is considered a green company and that is why I chose them. This company came out with the wrong map and luckily I had another company come out prior to, and they had left me a map so this company ended up using their map which was more extensive in the areas that needed to be treated. They spent about four hours treating my home and I am happy with the technician because he recognized that the salesman missed a lot of areas that needed to be treated.

 + -1 moreThe original treatment went well. They treated the termites locally with Electro gun and chemicals. About approximately one year later we saw evidence of flying termites in the house. Called the company and they scheduled an appointment to come out and re-apply treatment. Appt. was at 1:00 PM and they called us at 1:00 PM that same day to cancel appt. We rescheduled another appt. Technician came out, worked for a while, then said it was too hot in the attic to finish the job. We had to schedule another appt. The company called at 5:00 PM the night before our scheduled appt and said they had to cancel the appt. That was scheduled between 8-10 am the next morning. We now have to schedule another appointment. Terrible customer service and ability to meet commitments! I would not use this service again.

The only thing I hadnt been warned of ahead of time was that they had to spray paint the termite droppings they treated so future inspectors would know there were no live termites there; the paint smell abated in about an hour.
Description of Work: After giving me a free inspection and estimate, the company dealt with my termite problem using the least toxic materials available.

 + -1 moreThe company conducted two complete inspections but failed to notice major drywood termite infestation, including infestation in the door their inspector used to enter and exit the building. The second inspection report included comments on the interior of the garage, which inspector Mario Lopez did not enter, and has no windows. They failed to complete the subterranean termite treatment by trenching under all sides of the building and remove cellulose debris from under the house. This has been verified by two subsequent independent licensed inspections. The company has refused to complete work or issue a refund. Complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau and the California State Structural Pest Control Board. I would recommend avoiding this outfit at all costs.

 + -1 moreMuch stucco and roofing had been removed, so ideal time for an inspector to really see things. The inspector, Kevin, did the following: Did not look at the roof and attic though the absence of shingles made it the ideal time to see any infestation. Did not go under house though it was fully accessible, unaffected by remodel. Total inspection was very brief. Kevin's report said, no termites. Soon after, contractor saw big termite problem, which would have been visible to Kevin if he were even slightly thorough. ECOLA sent actual exterminator to look, not inspector, quite competent, confirmed major problem. Kevin was rude when I asked him on phone about his failure. Time constraint so used ECOLA despite Kevin.
