Extremely well! Alex is a wonderful communicator and quite responsive to all questions asked. When we were still pondering the house color, he offered to paint a sample on one wall to see if we wanted that specific color. Also, as a special bonus, he offered to add another coat of varnish on our front door to "highlight" the natural wood color alongside our newly painted house! As for this ACE Painting crew, all were kind, considerate, and respectful. They worked diligently throughout the day and at the end of each day, our property was left clean. Paint job was completed on time, in 2-1/2 days, and on budget.

Alex was very punctual, always arriving at the agreed upon time for estimate, washing, painting, and walk-around toward the end of the job. He also took time to answer all of my questions and make recommendations. Overall, he was very responsive to any concerns, and easy to reach on his cell phone. I really appreciated being able to reach him directly on his cell phone without having to leave messages or go through a gate-keeper or assistant. The primary reasons I selected Ace Painting were the enthusiastic references and the reasonable price on his estimate. Overall, the painters did a great job, and I felt their work was a particularly good value for the money. The painting contract was a bit more informal and contained less written detail than other contracts and quotes I received for painting the house. We discussed a few things only verbally or by e-mail, like patching some corbels that were damaged by some birds before painting, and it appears the painting crew did not receive these instructions from Alex when they started the job. However, the crew did the work when I pointed it out to them on the last morning they were at my house. The painting crew of 4 people was courteous and accommodating, and finished the job in 3 consecutive days. The clean-up was thorough too. There was one mishap with the job concerning the paint colors. We were repainting the house in the same/existing colors, and to help with color matching, I asked our home owner's association (HOA) for the Kelly-Moore paint names and numbers for our home. I provided these to Alex, but verbally asked him to double-check these colors and make sure they matched the house, since I had no idea whether I had been passed the correct information. Unfortunately, the paint number associated with one of the paint colors the HOA provided was incorrect, although the color name was correct. Alex purchased 10 gallons of paint based on the paint number before discovering it was the incorrect color (or noting that the paint name on the receipt didn't match), and I was billed over $200 for the unused paint. Although I take responsibility for providing the incorrect paint number, it seems that Alex did not carefully check the paint name or color (or purchase a small sample quantity first, as might have happened if I had not provided a listing of colors). Overall, I still feel I received a great painting value for the total price I paid, though this mishap did eat most of my Angie's List discount. Despite the mistake, I would recommend Ace Painting to any of my neighbors, and I would not hesitate to ask Ace Painting to come back next time I need painting.

First, they identified a few places where repairs would need to be done. At our request, they provided a reference to a fellow who could do them for us, and he did for a reasonable price. Then they power-washed the house, primed a few areas that needed special attention, sprayed one coat, and then applied another. They did the door last and used that time to re-do a couple areas at our request. Then they cleaned up thoroughly. This all took three days. It looks terrific and professional.

They did a GREAT job! Crew even did extra things like painting back and inside of shed as well as trim on side of house!

Alex was very prompt, responsive and professional. He gave me a printed estimate right away and followed up on questions by email. His crew was prompt and very polite; they cleaned up after themselves and worked hard through two very hot days. I found one small splattered area after they were done, and Alex himself cleaned it up right away. I plan to call Alex again for some interior work soon.

Outstanding from start to finish. Alex came out right away when I called. He answered all of my questions and provided excellent advice. We talked on the phone a couple of times and he was responsive and very pleasant to work with. I researched stains for my fence and he was glad to use the material that I wanted. His team came out exactly on time. They carefully cleaned all of the fences and covered all of the plants. They did a beautiful job with the stain and the fences look wonderful. Everything was cleaned up very well and Alex came out the next morning so I could settle up the bill. I highly recommend painting and Alex Yi for any painting job.

I'm very happy with the work, and plan to use them again in the future. I've already recommended Ace Painting to two friends. A bit of unsolicited advice: everyone's got different tastes. But in my opinion, flat finishes work best for walls and ceilings, unless you're talking about a kitchen or bathroom, in which case I recommend eggshell. I think satin works best as a finish for woodwork throughout the house, and it makes a nice contrast with flat, satin or eggshell. The only time I would ever use semi-gloss finish is if I had to in order to match an existing paint job.

Alex came within a day or two after I requested a bid on the painting project. We were at the end of our floor refinishing so we were anxious to get the rest of the project concluded. Our staircase is a main focal point of our house so it was important they were done well. Alex was very professional and gave me a bid on the spot. I was a little worried that he did not understand the importance of the stair-work but I liked him and his bid was very reasonable, better than the others I had received. I had two other bids to consider but got back to him within the week giving him the go ahead. His crew started on the day we agreed and Alex came with them to get them started. I did talk to them about the stairs, showed a photo of how I wanted them to look and mentioned they needed to cover everything up in the living room, etc. Since they needed to sand. If I had not been there, I don't think they would have covered everything. They were quick at painting but the crew did play their radio loudly and I had to ask several times over the couple of days they were here to turn it down. When I left the house and came back, it was blasting again. (This is the reason I gave the company a 'C' on professionalism.) There were problems with how the paint dried and looked on the stairwell wall so I asked them to put another coat on (after much discussion with Alex) which they did. I also had to have them repaint the skirt of the staircase because it was too glossy. I had to stand firm but Alex did agree to redo these few places that were a problem at no charge. Overall it is a good job but because of its prominence of the staircase, I probably should have used someone who specialized in staircases so it was done more carefully. Other than that, the job is fine.

Alex arrived on time for our first visit. He gave me a written bid on the spot and we talked about color and problem areas.He followed it up that night with an email. When I decided on his company I made a date for the painting a few weeks in advance. The painters showed up on time and had the job done in the days they said they would. I decide to have the beams painted also. Alex gave me a verbal bid for the beams and did that job also. The unit looks amazing. They did a great job and cleaned up. I met Alex to pay him 2 days later and received a discount from him. Very happy with the entire procedure and plan on using his company for my next unit vacated.

Workers came on time, were considerate throughout, and finished work promptly. We're very happy with the results. Alex was responsive and helpful with questions and requests, and though it's not in the written contract, he told us the work was guaranteed for 5 years (though hopefully good for twice that). I would recommend this company based on our experience.

It was very good. Overall it took them 3-4 days to get the job done. They covered all the plants and protected them from damage. I don't know the price of what they charged us because I didn't pay them, my husband did.

Everything was done VERY professionally from estimate to scheduling to performance of work. Quality of work was excellent and was done quickly. Cleanup was very good (they left a couple of pieces of sandpaper, that's all). I would definitely use them again!

The job was done very well. They finished their work on time as promised and the workers were professional. Alex gave us a fair estimate and we choose him over couple of others. He was priced good and work was great. I liked that they cleaned up well after the work was done. Alex was were much available for any changes or questions throughout the work. I recommend him highly.

It was an overall great experience: Alex came by to bid on this project and gave us a quote that we felt seemed low and made us question if that was a bad sign. We decided to go with them, but had to wait until our windows were installed before we could start. Alex was very flexible with your scheduling needs. Once we started he had a team of 3 who worked hard and fast and in 4 days everything had been washed, sanded, stripped, repaired, caulked, primed, painted, and cleaned. Alex also did a good job matching the paint we had picked, and recommended trim and front door colors that were very complimentary. At the end of the project he even gave us 10% off for being from Angie's List!

We recently purchased a new (to us) condo. We wanted to change the colors of the walls throughout, but the vaulted ceilings were too challenging for a DIY project. We called Ace Painting and set up an appointment to meet with Alex. He came over, toured the house with us, made some suggestions and gave us a quote we could live with. We scheduled a start date, and he brought his crew over and got to work. After the first day, I realized we had made a mistake by not specifying the paint finish. We called Alex and asked him to change from flat to "eggshell" on the walls. He easily accommodated the change. He and his crew also finished a day early. And I have to say we are very satisfied with the results. Everything looks new and fresh! It was a professionally done job that just looks great. If we have to get more painting done in the future, we know who we're going to call.

Dealt with Alex Yi. Arrive on time for all appointments. Undecided on color and after power washing house applied a sample of the 3 colors we were considering directly to the house. Was only contractor that applied Angie's List discount after the original estimate (others applied a blanket discount). Their price was $2000 and $1000 less than other Angie's List contractors we received estimates from. They finished the job on time and on schedule. There were a few nits which is why I didn't give them a A for Quality, but I would use them again.

When coming to give my estimate, Alex actually called to say he was running 5 minutes late - I couldn't believe he was courteous enough to call me over only a 5 minute delay. The service was like that the entire time. They were on time, courteous and professional. All in all, a very good performance.

As they were finishing the interior he sent a crew over to powerwash and start the outside prep work. They worked rapidly and completed in time for the photos to be taken for the newspaper ad.

The company responded quickly every call from beginning estimate to interim questions. Work was accomplished very professionally. They masked all the floors, built-ins not to be painted (such as kitchen cabinets, appliances). Started early every morning, worked through to the end of day, courteous workers, they were skilled and efficient. We were happy with the results. Will be using them for our next home. Recommend them highly.

Was able to come out and give quote quickly and scheduled job within the next 1-2 weeks. Alex and his crew arrived as expected and helped move furniture and covered everything well. They worked efficiently and did a very nice job. No complaints! Will consider using them again if I need another painter.

Alex came out and gave us a quote that was totally in line with other quotes we got. However, I felt he was less experienced than the other companies we spoke with and had fewer positive recommendations on Angie's List. Estimated cost was $1,000.
