We dealt with Alex Yi and his wonderful crew. Alex was great, listened to our needs, and insured us a good job. His crew was prompt, professional, courteous, and above all, hard working. We had a crew of four, and they were amazing. The job is beautiful, we are very pleased, and would recommend Ace Painting to anyone...give them a call!

Ace Painting did an excellent job overall. They were punctual arriving on time everyday at 7:45am. They also came back to complete touch up work on the final day to make sure everything was completed as originally intended. The drywall work and texturing looks fantastic. It feels as though we live in a new home now::) I would recommend Ace Painting in Sunnyvale for any painting job.

Alex arrived promptly at the agreed upon time and took about 15 minutes inspecting my house and talking with me about how Ace would go about doing the job, the materials it would use, the prep work that it would entail, etc. During the visit I found Alex to be friendly, cheerful, very knowledgeable, and he was able to quickly explain what the job would entail. Alex provided by email a complete estimate and a lengthy list of references in our area. I would have been very comfortable awarding Ace the contract and will certainly give them other opportunities to do work for me. However, I also had a bid from another highly regarded Angie's list painter that was about 15% lower, so I went with them.

Work was excellent; the house looks great! We decided to go with an upgrade on the paint for a nominal extra charge. Tools, etc were mostly cleaned up each day and everything was left very tidy at the end of the 3-1/2 day project. The crew worked full days starting between 8:00 and 8:30 am and generally working until around 4:30 to 5:00 pm. The job had to be rescheduled 1 week later due to unexpected rain at the end of May and Alex was very accommodating. We did have a lot of emails back and forth discussing paint types and colors and there was a bit of a delay (a couple of days) in responding to some of the emails. (That's the reason for the "B" in Responsiveness.) We were given a 10% discount for finding them on Angie's list and paid in full with a check at the end of the job. (Other contractors had asked for deposits up front.) Overall things went very well and we would not hesitate to hire this company again. They painted our next-door neighbors house 2 years ago and their house still looks great.

I contacted Ace Painting on a Friday to arrange a visit for a quote, and I had a good feeling from the start. Alex agreed to meet at 9am the next day (Saturday). He arrived early, and we walked through the townhouse together. Alex is not-pushy, and in fact, he was quite professional and very helpful in providing practical suggestions for color/shade and trim color. After a 20-30min walk-through of our townhouse, Alex provided a quote that was reasonable and competitive with requested cost options to remove the ceiling acoustic and install and paint baseboards. It was an easy decision so we called the next day to arrange for him to start the job. Alex was able to have his team start that Monday morning! The entire job was complete 5 days later the next Saturday afternoon, and they did a quality job. I was impressed by the attention to detail, the new texture applied to the walls which had previously been covered by wallpaper, and the retextured and painted ceilings. Closet interiors were properly painted and the kitchen, bathrooms. and interior trim were nicely painted in semi-gloss. Alex and team had no qualms when we asked mid-week if they could remove a floor to ceiling mirror and repaint the underlying wall. Overall, I was quite impressed with the quality of the work, attention to detail, and cost. I would definitely recommend Alex and Ace Painting to friends and family.

Ace painting is excellent and I highly recommend them. I scheduled the estimate the day after I called. The work was scheduled in a very timely manner (1 week after we made our decision). The workers showed up on time each day, cleaned up every day and were a pleasure to work with. Alex was very good at answering my questions and returning calls. The quality of the work is excellent!

Alex and his team provided prompt, professional and exceptional work in a limited time as we were preparing to sell our house. The work was amazing!! Alex responded promptly to our call and even came out on a Sunday to provide an estimate. The job involved painting walls and ceilings in furnished rooms which they did without a single problem!! We had obtained other bids and Alex's was the most thorough and straight forward. We knew exactly what to expect and they scheduled and completed the work that week. Alex and his team were prompt, and Alex was there to get them started and to walk through the finished project. The management and operation of Ace Paining was reassuring and left me feeling very comfortable about their work. And I need to say- Integrity and Customer Service are 2 of Ace Paintings many great qualities. Alex viewed the project and provided a very competitive bid. Once work had started they encountered an unanticipated obstacle. Without any question they corrected the problem and completed the work in an additional 4hrs. and we were not charged anything extra. We could not have asked for more- I would highly recommend Alex and Ace Painting

This was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a contractor. Alex was great to deal with, very professional, responsive, relaxed, with a "whatever it takes" attitude to pleasing the customer. Even when called after hours and on weekends he personally answered his phone and responded positively to our needs and requests. The Ace crew was great- four brothers who worked very hard, were very respectful and pleasant, and did superb work. We LOVE our new paint job and couldn't be happier with the whole experience with Alex and his crew. I work from home and am a stickler for detail, and they didn't mind my looking over their shoulders and making special requests. Our house is older and the paint job was overdue. The cracking and peeling wood siding and the older vinyl siding required special handling which they handled very well. We had a number of color changes for the doors and door trim which required repainting them, which they did with a positive attitude. Highly recommended!

Ace Painting was very flexible in meeting with me initially and provided a detailed written quote on the spot after the job was discussed. Pricing was a bit higher than other painters but given the many positive reviews Ace had on Angies list, the evidence of insurance that was provided, etc. I chose Ace to do the work. Overall, the team was very prompt and professional. Each day or so the owner would meet with me to walk around the job site and review the work completed and overall job progress. Any questions or concerns I had were thoroughly addressed. For example, several areas had to be resanded, reprimed and repainted but in each case the team was very responsive in making corrections. I would also like to thank Ace for recommending a contractor to do minor carpentry work before the painting project began. Overall, I was satisfied with both the painting and carpentry work that was performed.

It was a very good experience from the very first moment. Alex returned calls promptly. Showed up exactly on time for the estimate and asked all the right questions. The estimate was competitive and I took his slightly higher bid because I felt like he would do a good job. On the day of the job, he and the crew showed up right on time and proceeded to "spillproof" the house - taking pains to mask and cover carpets, fixtures, flooring, everything the crew might touch or step on. The crew of three worked solidly all day and finished in a reasonable 8 hours. They did a really excellent job. They cleaned up, leaving everything spotless, even sweeping the walkway outside my front door. Overall, great price, superior service, and very high quality materials (paint). Results were even better than I expected.

A week after job completion, I noticed paint was peeling on one of the exterior doors. I called twice (first on 2/22/10 and again on 3/1/10) and left messages asking that the paint be touched-up. I received an e-mail saying work would be done when the rains stop. It is now April 6, 2010 and I have not heard from Ace Painting. I've already paid and they aren't going to get any more money to touch-up the peeling paint, so why should they bother? I would not use this company again.

Alex Yi, the owner of Ace Painting, responded within a couple hours of my initial voicemail and I was able to set up an estimate right away. At our appointment, he was prompt, courteous and professional. After reviewing the job, he went out to his truck and came back within 10 minutes with a typed-up proposal (very impressive). The crew who came out to do the job was prompt, neat, and professional. They finished the entire job in 9 hours (in at 8:00, out by 5:00). They did a superb job. The patch jobs they did are flawless--you can't even tell where the holes were. I can't find a single drip or missed brush stroke. I will definitely hire Ace Painting again.

Excellent. I called Ace Painting because of their solid reputation on Angie's list, and Alex and his crew lived up to it and then some. His crew was very courteous, hard-working and cleaned up before they left for the day. There were a few spots on the back of front door that were still rough after painting. Instead of just touching it up, Alex had his painter re-sand both sides and paint again to make sure it was right. We are very happy with the results and would hire Ace painting again in a heartbeat!

Excellent service from Ace Painting from start to finish. Unlike a number of painting contractors who wouldn't even call me back, Alex Yi from Ace Painting came the morning after my initial call, even though I live a fair distance from his office. He estimated the job on the spot, printed out the estimate from his truck and put the bid along with paint colour samples in my mail box - Strikingly professional business pracice compared to the competition. The bid itself seemed thoroughly reasonable, and when it came to the work, the crew were hard-working, thoughtful and respectful of those living in the house. Of course, you don't know how well a paint job is going to last for quite a while, but at least so far I think I got good value for money, and no hassles. I went back to them when I had another job to do, so I suppose that's a good sign.

They were fantastic. They gave us a quote instantly and their price was the best of anybody we quoted. The crew arrived on time and cleaned up the site everyday before they went home. It couldn't have been better.

Crew arrived on time everyday, worked throughout the day, and finished after a VERY full day's work each day. Excellent attention to preparation of surfaces, and overall wonderful job. The owner, Alex Yi, returned phone calls and messages promptly, and sent someone out to fix a couple of very minor things we called about, even after the job was complete and he had already received full payment. You won't have any problems dealing with Alex. He is friendly, honest, knowledgeable, and runs a great company. Also, his crew is fantastic...very diligent and hardworking. We highly recommend Ace Painting!

We are very happy with them. They are very adaptable and responsive to our needs. When they came, they came with the full crew and they were very efficient and got things done quickly. They were very cautious about prepping the area and not causing any damage. The price was fair.

Alex was punctual from the get-go, arriving on time for the estimate. His estimate was very reasonable and he was very flexible in making changes as we went along. He even through in some work for free (fixture replacement). The crew showed up on time every day and did a fantastic job. They were very professional in protecting everything and the prep work was done very well. Alex also advised us on some color selection and we were very happy because all his suggestions turned out to work better than what we had planned ourselves. We are pleased with the final job and would gladly hire him and his crew again. We got our money's worth and more.

I chose this company from Angie's List because there were many glowing reviews about it. I called and left a VM. Alex called me back right away and came out right on time on the appointed day to give an estimate. He really knows his stuff and gave me a good price. He and Emilio came out the day of the job, so they could move the furniture together. Alex then left as they had 4 or 5 other jobs going on at the same time. Emilio did an excellent job. He put out dropcloths or plastic wherever necessary. He was very quiet and polite and very methodical and thorough with his work. The job took about 8 hours. Alex came back at the end of the day to help move back the furniture and to make sure I was satisfied with the job. He then told me that this was the smallest job they'd ever done, but they were very happy to do it anyway. I really appreciate their punctuality. Alex is very easy to talk to and deal with; I felt very comfortable with him right away. i would definitely use them again.

I highly recommend Ace Painting. This was the BEST experience I have had with a painter. Four or five people came and finished the job in a day and a half. They were neat and the workmanship . . . extremely professional. Would use them again, for sure. No debating or arguing with you about how to do the job, extremely trustworthy. This is the painter to hire.

I am very happy with the service from the very beginning to the end. I have a very difficult neighbore and she warned me that she would not tolerate any "damage" done to her house. Alex's crew were really careful with everything and my neighbore did not complain at all. The paint job itself was very well done as well. I would recommend Ace Painting to everyone I know.

Alex the owner actually answers his cell phone! He is so responsive, a stickler for detail, and is fair. I can always count on him for excellent work. This house was a mess with old wallpaper that stuck like glue. It took days of hand scraping to remove it, Alex gave me the same price he originally quoted, even though there was more work than he thought. After other workmen did their jobs he came back for a lot of touch up work and his price was also fair for that. I'm a real estate broker and they are the only company I will use for painting!

Alex arrived at the agreed time to discuss the job. After we discussed the job he provided me a printed qoute within 40 minutes. After agreeing on the specific of the job we planned a time for his crew to powerwash. The crew arrrived on time completed the washing the same day. Preping began the following day and painting began two days later and was finished within three days. I decided I needed to replace my garage door but the door would not arrive until after the painting was completed. Alex was nice enough to offer to return when the door arrived and paint it. I called him to let him know when the door was installed and he had his crew come by as planned and paint it. He also offered to return and repaint a gate that I was replacing as well as the area around a window that need to be replaced. Alex is courteous, professional, easy to talk to and strives satisfy his customers. I need to repaint my decks every few years an plan call him again.

The overall experience was very positive. Alex was always on time. He always gave us exact schedule when work will be performed. Quality was very high and Alex was very professional throughout the process.
