My experience with them was great. They did a really good job. They were very flexible especially in accommodating our neighbor. To paint a part of our property, they had to put ladders in some of our neighbor’s bushes. So, they were very flexible and polite in working with our neighbors to make that go smoothly. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

Alex came out to look at the house and made recommendations on some structural work that needed to be done prior to the house being painted; specifically what his crew could do as part of the paint job and what required a contractor. Once the repairs were made, we scheduled a date and the work was performed on time and within budget. I love my blue house!

Alex and Ace Painting had painted the exterior of our previous home, so they were the first people I called to give me an estimate on our new home. Alex met me on Monday morning to give me an estimate on the interior painting of our new house. I told him I needed it done by noon on Friday as we were supposed to move in that day. Alex was very upfront that he wasn't sure he could get it done in time, so we made a plan for splitting up the work pre/post move. Imagine my surprise when I came by the new house the next morning, and his crew was already prepping and priming. Not only did Alex get the job done on time, they were done by end of day on Thursday - plenty of time before our move Friday afternoon. Several areas where there was oil-based staining on the trim, doors, and ceiling, they had to do double and triple priming to insure that the stain didn't seep through. The result is the most stunning painting job I've ever seen. It really transformed our house - I'm so grateful!!

Ace Painting painted our whole house, a detached garage, a shed, our picket fences and two small decks. Alex Yi is the person we dealt with, presumably the owner/operator. The garage and the shed are very close to the fences on the edge of the property line, so that was a challenge. Before this we had never worked with house painters before, so it was a learning experience for us. The main reason we had the house painted was because we had a lot of patches where the paint was bubbling and peeling (we had moved in to the house a few years ago and though the house had been painted just before we moved in, the paint was already in poor shape). After the first day of sanding, we realized the issue of lead paint hadn't been discussed. We used a home kit to verify that the bottom layer of paint was lead paint, and were worried because we didn't know if we should be worried (if you know what we mean). After speaking to Alex, we decided that there wasn't anything we could do to improve the situation. The vast majority of the dust was from the outer layers of vinyl paint. The parts of the house that were bubbling and peeling were sanded down to the wood, then primed and painted. After the painting was mostly finished, some of the freshly painted areas which were previously fine started bubbling and peeling. This meant significant additional work to sand these areas down to the wood and repaint them. The extra work was not covered by the original estimate, and we paid an additional charge for the rework. The good: The work was completed within a reasonable time. The result looks very nice. The clean up was very thorough. Alex kept me informed at each step about what was happening. The price was very reasonable. (I got another estimate to compare against) The bad: It would have been nice if Alex had brought up the subject of lead paint, so that we would know what to expect. The house is clearly old enough to have been originally built when lead paint was still widely used. It would have been nice if Alex had identified the root cause of the peeling paint that he was repairing. He might have given us a better estimate if he predicted additional bubbling. Or he might have recommended more wide-spread paint removal in the initial phase. Now both of the bad items are things that we will chalk up mostly to inexperience on our part. We really believe the homeowner is responsible for learning the basics of caring for their own home. So we would still give a high overall rating for Ace Painting.

He came on the day he said he was going to come. He was very pleasant over the phone. I didn't actually meet him myself, but my handyman felt that Alex was quite professional. They did a great job in one day. I had a small misunderstanding and it was my fault that he didn't get the check immediately after the work was performed. Alex was extremely cool about it. He was paid the following day. The never complained about this. I thought that this was a terrific experience. He work was quality. He was very neat and clean. Alex, from Ace Painting Service, presented himself in a very professional manner. I give him a strong recommendation.

Prompt response to provide a quote. Alex visited the property on a Saturday and was able to meet our budget. We decided to go ahead and schedule the painting for the week after the quote was received. However we had to wait for the weather to clear up. Once, the weather improved, they contacted us and the job was done very well in two days. Alex and his crew were very reponsive and he also suggested and painted a nice color for the door to go with the rest of the house. All in all they seemed to care about the final finish and we would recommend them to others.

They were polite and courteous, I just decided to take my business elsewhere.

Scheduled quickly; arrived on-time; finished early; broom clean - although counters, mirrors, etc. left with debris and finger prints. Overall Alex and his crew did a wonderful job.

Alex and his crew were first rate from start to finish. The price was right, his crew was punctual and professional, and the end result was fantastic! What really impressed me was that they got the job done in 3 days. That's very impressive given that we have a lot of tall walls in the house and had some other contractors working on a bathroom at the same time. Considering every other painter we talked to quoted 6-7 days to do the work, what Alex's crew accomplished is all the more impressive. We will definitely use them again in the future.

Exceeded my expectations. I was initally impressed by the care taken to prep the house for paint, with extensive sanding and prepping of surfaces, including systematic caulking, wood filler, and repair of cracking in stucco. Throughout the project I felt as though the extra time necessary for quality work was taken as a matter of course. The project was started quickly, as I had hoped, and once started the crew worked on it consistently until it was finished. Zero complaints. Very professional and high quality. Delivered exactly what said would deliver in initial quote.

Alex and his crew were on time each day they stated they would be.Ace's price was not the lowest, but I felt comfortable when I first met Alex. Their crew was friendly and did a very good job.

I recently had replacement vinyl windows installed and wanted to have the house painted as well. I got estimates from five top Angies List companies. Alex's emailed estimate was right in the middle of the five. I was not entirely comfortable with the two lower estimates, and given the number and nature of its positive Angie's List ratings, as well as the fact that No Subs would be used and the job came with a 5-year warranty, I decided to go with Ace. The Saturday before the painting was to begin, Alex brought one of his workers to do a thorough pressure washing of the enitre house. The following Monday, a four-man crew came to start the painting. First, they did a very thorough job of protecting all the new windows and doors, as well as the areas which would be painted different colors. At the same time, they also repaired areas of stucco and wood where cracks had begun to show in preparation for painitng. In addition, they moved (and took care of) and trimmed some plants as needed for clear access to the surfaces to be painted. They then did a careful job painiting the entire house. The entire job took three days, but at the end of the third day, there were some items which still needed to be finished. Alex made an end-of-job visit, and he had me do an inspection of the enitre job and make a list of items I felt were still in need of more attention. The next afternoon, the original crew leader and another employee came, we went through the list, and they completed all the items to my satisfaction. At the end of the job he emailed a receipt for the job. All in all, I am very satisfied with the job Alex and his crew did and would recommend them to anyone wanting similar work done.

It went very well. The house had quite a bit of peeling paint, which was a concern. Of the 3 bids we got, Alex indicated he would do the most complete job on prep work, and he did, taking slightly more than 2 days for prep and 4 days overall. 4 to 2 men worked on the house and were very professional and pleasant. There was a minor (it turned out) plumbing problem with the irrigation system, but the guys located the water shut off (I wasn't sure where it was.) Alex notified us and got a plumber out right away to correct it. Alex was readily available by phone and checked in with us and his painters. Cleanup was good also. The house looks great to us and we have had lots of comments from neighbors about how good it looks!

Alex came and gave me an estimate. He was late, but called me to tell me he was running late. Was very professional in his estimate, and timely with a response. He did some research on paint types and made a recommendation. His bid was competitive, but I did not use him because others were willing to perform other services (shake replacement, plant trimming away from house on exterior paint job) as part of their services, which saved me the trouble of having to arrange these myself.

I was very happy with the job Alex and his team did for our house. They had very good attention to detail when looking at the quality of work. The total job took about 3 days. They did a pretty good job of cleaning up afterwards too. Although they left just a couple of cups around the house when they finished, they swept up the ground and left most of the areas cleaner than when they first started.

Overall it was a fairly good job and they had a couple of paint drops on the stucco. They had to come out to cover it up and they also had to come back to address a spot that was missed in the original painting.

Alex and his crew were great. He really did a lot of extra work to keep the neighbors happy in a situation where I needed their help to complete the job. He also helped me decide what colors to use on the house (suggesting alternatives to a pretty harsh color grouping that I would have gone with). The painters were professional, prompt, neat, and skilled. The result is my house looks better than I've ever seen it look, in the 8 years I've been here.

Alex and I set up a date for a walk through and he emailed the estimate within 48 hours. We agreed on a start date and his crew showed up on time. They are thorough in their prep for the painting and use a lot of drop clothes and covering of furniture, windows etc. They were carefull to be sure that I had one room that I could be in at night without all of the plastic and drop clothes and such that come with painting a house. The crew was very professional and worked fast. They started and ended on time everyday and the job was completed in three days as promised by Alex.

It went very well! I would definitely hire Ace again!! The crew was respectful , professional, and friendly. They arrived on time and cleaned up after themselves every day. During the project, Alex came by to check how things were going. He was easy to talk to and responsive to my requests. Love Ace Painting Co.!!

Alex kept in great contact with me as my other projects finished and we finalized a date for this job. They arrived at 8am on the nose every day they were on the job. Day one was all about the prep work - pressure washing, scraping, plastering holes in the stucco, priming dark surfaces, and taping. The night of the first day of real painting (first coat of primary paint color), I called Alex in a panic and told him I wasn't sure I liked the color I picked. I was so worried that it may need to be repainted. Alex was so calm and said that Kelly Moore opened at 6:30am and that there was plenty of time for me to pick out a new color before they started painting again the next morning. He told me there would be an additional charge for the new paint (which I knew there would be). However, when I woke up the next morning and looked at the paint color, I loved it (not sure why I didn't like it the night before, we'll blame it on jet lag, LOL). Alex and his crew finished the second coat (which was back-rolled - which made it look so awesome!), they did the trim, and did the first coat on the door (which he had custom color-matched for me!!). He gave us excellent advice on the trim color and the different places where we should do trim versus base color - his judgment was exceptional and we went with all of his suggestions. The next day they finished the garage door and the front door and they were done. I came home from work that night and my mouth gaped open - I couldn't believe how gorgeous my house looked! My neighbors have come over to tell us how beautiful the house looks. I should note that either Alex or his dad were onsite everyday. We received our invoice and it was the exact same amount as the estimate - to the penny. I've already told Alex to count on us to hire them for the internal paint jobs we'll be doing soon.
