We are a small, family owned, award-winning LEED certified Residential Landscape Design/Build firm & have been in business for more than 34 years. Initial meetings are free of charge and allow Tony Morales, President of Redwood Landscape, Inc. to meet with you at your home. He will bring our portfolio and can provide references and answers to any questions that you may have.

We work on the San Francisco peninsula - from San Francisco to Santa Clara county. We perform all our own work & we do one job at a time, with Tony working on each project personally. Our specialties include paths, decks, masonry, irrigation, lighting, water features, design, drainage, plantings of any type, fences, spas, retaining walls, patios, child and pet-friendly gardens, rainwater harvesting systems, and many custom features which can make your landscape truly one of a kind!

Tony came to our home in Mountain View, assessed the situation, agreed with me that the original contractor of the water feature had done a terrible job and then spend the better part of an hour describing how he would modify / correct all the errors and problems. The existing structure suffered from massive leakage problems, causing it to drain itself after about 45 minutes of operation. Spillways were improperly installed and Tony described exactly how he'd fix all of it, yielding a wonderful background sound to our back yard. Tony provide a quote to totally disassemble the structure, re-engineer the soil elevations, correct the lighting and irrigation issues and plant proper ground cover to prevent erosion. While the project took longer than he estimated... in part due to the scope the was unveiled during deconstruction and in part due ti the unavailability of certain needed materials that were back-ordered, it was finished in a timely fashion. Tony did the project by himself...I've no idea how he moved some of those big boulders. He worked tirelessly every day, all day long. I think 90% of the cost was his labor as he was able to reuse many of the existing materials. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the final result
Description of Work: Tony completely rebuilt our pondless waterfall and 20 foot stream.

I believe if something is worth doing, it's worth doing it only once, and doing it right. While we ar Redwood Landscape, Inc. always appreciate feedback, for without that vital information, it is difficult for us to continually evaluate our goals and achievements, we must point out that the customers did not in fact hire us to design or install their landscape. Thus, a completion date in April is puzzling. Regardless, while an unfortunate loss of client contact information did delay the delivery of the bid for installation, the customers were contacted the instant that the information was retrieved, and the customer indicated that they were still interested in receiving our bid. A fair amount of time was spent on the phone with the customer, who had some good questions and input, going over details which were lacking in the landscape design prepared for them by a competitor, before the bid could be prepared, and the bid was ultimately emailed to them. While our initial consultation is always free, the customers also received the above mentioned consultation/design help for no charge. It is unfortunate that the customers were unhappy with our bid/fees, but we have no control over their budget or expectations, nor do we have any control over how they accomplish their goals, or with whom. Had they indicated to us that the bid was higher than they wanted, we could have possibly suggested adjustments to the design which could have reduced their cost. We take great pride in our award winning work, and in our long standing excellent reputation, We feel that our fees are fair, and are comparable to other reputable firms in our field, here in the Bay Area, especially considering the fact that Tony Morales, President and Designer of all Redwood Landscape, Inc. designs, PERSONALLY works on EVERY job we do. Due to this, we only schedule one job at a time, allowing him to apply his 33 years of experience to every task on every job. Most of our competitors cannot do this, but we do, and we always will. We would have very much liked to have worked with the customers on their project, but we respect their decision, and hope that if they ever have another landscape project in mind, that they will consider us again. We value all of our clients, and potential clients, and we always look forward to the opportunity to exceed all expectations. We thank the customers for their consideration, and we of course wish them many years of enjoyment in their garden.After all, in the words of Thomas Church:" Gardens are for people...."

Tony and Redwood Landscape Inc. took my horrible deck space (a drab hardscape with almost entirely indirect light) and turned it into an lush urban oasis. Through the cleaver use of colorful shade loving plants and lighting, I now have an extra room in my home to welcome and entertain guests. I loved being part of the landscape process: from going on a field trip to the local wholesale nursery to discuss which plants would work best in my environment to final plant layout. The best part is the lighting. When I expressed my love of fireflies, Tony found a cleaver lighting solution that has wowed everyone! I am very happy with the services provided by Redwood Landscape, Inc.
Description of Work: Redwood Landscape Inc. cleared and cleaned out the old deck space salvaging any containers and plants that could be saved. They worked extensively with me on my wishes and desires and educated me in the process of what would work best and what wouldn't work best. Consideration for lighting at different times in the day (the space can be very dark with little direct light) as well as environmental challenges (the space can be very warm or very cold depending upon the time of year) were given. Additional emphasis on the small/minor details as well as the practical needs of the area were addressed and not neglected in the finished product.
