 + -1 moreI was directed to ACE through Costco. The initial appointment was very responsive, but the representative spent a long time explaining how HVAC works in technical terms. He didn't have a business card with him to give me when he left. He did e-mail me a quote the next day but when I wrote back with a question it was 3 days before he responded & when I asked another question I never heard from them again. Their price was several thousand higher than the company I went with (even after subtracting the value of the Costco gift card).
Description of Work: I was looking for new heating & air conditioning to be installed.

Description of Work: Called in emergency last summer, when A/C compressor failed at my mother's home. She's an elderly woman with serious health issues. Ace came out the next business day and replaced that air conditioner, checked entire H&A system, all at very reasonable cost. Very professional too, knew exactly what to look for in that aging heat and air system. Others I used previously seemed clueless.

The crew that did the work spent about 5 days total to completely remove the older existing system, which was complicated by a very small attic and poor installation of the previous system. They even had to replace the new system because the first unit had a manufacturing defect. They had to cut new holes in the ceiling and were very conscientious about dust, covering all furniture and thoroughly cleaning afterwards. The new system is much more efficient and cools the whole house much better than the old one. They did a great job, handled the financing, helped when we ran into a problem with getting a rebate from the manufacturer, and have continually followed up to ensure the system has performed well and to ensure the city permits were all complete.
Description of Work: Patio converted to a room by previous owner did not have A/C nor heat. Ace Air came out and thoroughly examined our system, our home, the short and long term needs, and bid a solution along with another company. We went with Ace based on cost, financing options, and the type of solution.

 + -1 moreCustomer service and responsiveness were excellent. They came out to diagnose the problem same am as original call was made on one of the hottest days of the summer. Said they would have to order parts from out of town to complete the reapir and did not expect to have the required part for 2 days at best. We recevied a call the next morning to let us know that they would be out latter that same am to complete the repair. They were sympathetic to our situation and sent somene from their company on a special trip out of town to pick the needed part for us. They showed up as promised, completed the repair in short time, and for less than the original bid. by responding to our needs so quickly we were able to provide a comfortable enviroment for our employees and clients. Would definitly recomend to others.

They started doing the work before the financing was approved. They felt it was important to get this taken care of before the cold time. They are honest in their evaluations. They went above and beyond explaining a few things that they didn't have to go over.

 + 0 moreThey were punctual. Their estimate was accurate, and the clean up was very good, but there was some spots I had to call them back for. The follow-up was excellent. They had the guy that gave me the estimate come out and physically get up in the attic and physically look at everything they did and then come down to discuss osme of the follow-up care that needed to be done and he made sure that was corrected. Then, they pressure tested it, and it was better than state standards. I had a 40% leak when they started, and less than a 4% leak when they finished.

They showed when they said they would, completed the work on time, cleaned up after themselves and Tom (owner) called a few weeks later to see if we were happy with their work! Imagine that, Customer Service isn't dead after all! Our reworked system after a two month evaluation is more efficient, runs less, does a better job of cooling and is saving us money on our power bill vs. the last few years. I cannot stress enough how courteous and professional the entire Ace Air crew is and would highly recommend them to anyone who has need for HVAC service.
Description of Work: We had an HVAC system installed by an amateur (no longer in business) which was sucking our power bill budget dry and not cooling our home at each end due to poor air flow. Additionally they had not installed enough air returns and had pinched the freon line by approx. 50% which added to the inefficiency of the system. We had four different A/C companies quote the repair on this job ranging from $1500 to $7000, but all agreed that our system was running at about 30% efficiency. Tom and his excellent crew from Ace Air in Merced, were the only ones who had found the kinked freon line and came up with the most cost effective and efficient way to correct most of the issues with our system. They installed an additional air return, re-routed some of the duct work, changed out the freon line and rebuilt the air handler box and plenum that led from the garage installed unit to the attic.
