The Grout Expert

Hour late for the estimate. Hour late for the actual appointment. Non-punctual and don't seem to take the job seriously. Fired them on the spot.

Got a call from the local franchise company near postcode 94107. Confirmed appointment for Sunday Oct 9, 10:00 to 10:30am. No show. No call to let us know if they're running late. Enough said.

Beige colored grouting was cleaned and parts of it replaced. The stall looks clean now. Some parts of the new grout were looking dark even after 48 hours of drying. Called them and they promptly came back to take a look. They removed the dark areas, dried those areas again, and regrouted. I'm quite happy with the appearance of the final result. Will know about durability only after a while, but I'm expecting it to last. The expense was a bit more than I expected, but I'm hoping we won't have to revisit for a while.

Wonderful job. Tam and Anthony were on time, professional, and did a wonderful job. They also cleaned up after themselves. My bathroom looks better than new. After finishing the job, Tam gave me some easy tips about how to keep my tile and grout looking good. GREAT COMPANY! Don't hesitate to call them.

We called several tile people and everyone we called wanted to replace the grout all the way around the sink. We were told that our job was too small and that we should call a handyman. We were well pleased with the work The Grout Experts did for us. It has been 9 months since the work was completed and it is holding up well. They even honored a discount coupon we had received in the mail. We won't hesitate to call them again if we need more grout work.

1) Mr. Nguyen was eight hours late for the estimate appointment, and didn't call until about 5 hours late, stating he had been delayed at a location without cell phone service. 2) When he finally arrived, my husband was quite impressed with his technical knowledge and thoroughness, noticing important details that would be necessary to do the job right. 3) Mr. Nguyen's bid was about 20% higher than the 2nd bid, but because he made a positive impression at the bidding visit, we decided to call him to see whether he would consider lowering his bid somewhat. 4) When Mr. Nguyen had not returned our call after 2 days, and given his extreme tardiness in keeping the original appointment, we decided his reliability was uncertain and decided to go with the other bidder. He did call on the third day after our call, at which point we had already committed to his competitor. So if punctuality and reliability are not the highest priority for a potential client, we suspect the work itself would be done very conscientiously and well.

The jobs were completed so quickly and efficiently! I expected to have workers around for days. Instead it was just a little more than one day... because of the add-on project referenced above. I needed a follow-up on the glass block wall. It was determined that some moisture was probably present when the grout was sealed and had worked its way out. My call was received cheerfully and the repair (to the repair) was completed efficiently. No problems since. I was (an am) frankly thrilled to have these jobs off-our-list. This a an excellent company of skilled workers. Call them!

Overall and specifically, it went well. See above.

Grout Expert was very diligent. They worked very hard. We were very impressed with the end results. The price that they quoted us matched the end result. They were able to finish the job very quickly, in a matter of days from when we got the estimate.

My experience with them was good. They also had to do much more stuff, but I didn't have it done, I had some loose tiles, they were going to pull those up and re-do that. They did a great job. This is the second time I've used them. They were honest and fair when they came over and did it at a good price. They did the work in one day. I wouldn't know how to compare their prices as I have not had anyone else do it. I had a little mix up in terms of their responsiveness. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

It took him all day, as I have a lot, but it looks amazing. It feels like a new kitchen. I would definetly recommend him to all.

Very unprofessional. Perhaps he feels so popular that he feels he doesn't have to provide decent service and that he can slide by on his previous reputation alone? If he can't even show for an estimate, there is little chance he will show after you start paying him.

Everything went well. He did an absolutely beautiful job.

It took a long time - longer than they expected but it was a harder job than they thought. They still did it for the same price.

From start to finish, they have been great. Calling and getting an appointment for a free quote was easy and painles. Huong showed up for the free quote, was friendly, and quick. I thought the price was very reasonable. While he wrote up the proposal, I asked him about our kitchen countertops and he was happy to provide a quick quote on that. They showed up at 8:30, were happy to be there, worked quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up before they left at 5:00. I was amazed that they finished both bathrooms so quickly. Our bathrooms look great and practically brand new. I am very happy with their work and hope to get them to do our kitchen countertops, too.

It was a good experience. I didn’t take estimates so I don’t know if it was the best price or not, but I was satisfied with it.

It was a very large job and they did very professional work. I was told they would be finished by 6:30 pm that day and they were true to their word.The only negative was that workers showed up about 45 minutes late to begin the work. When finished, it looked like I had brand new kitchen and bathrooms.

Better than expected. Accurate estimate, arrived on time, protected my floor/carpet, perfect installation and clean up after work was completed.

I have nothing but good things to say about Hoang and his crew. He gave an accurate time estimate for the work (4 days) and even though the work became a little more involved as the damage to the sub-floor became more apparent, they still finished the job on-time (working late a few nights) and for the original estimate price. They even filled some holes in the wall that were not even requested, but appreciated. Once the job was finished, I had a water problem and called Hoang. He came over with Anthony (his very talented tiler) to look into it. After some trial and error and a visit to the crawl space under our house, they accurately determined it was a specific plumbing issue, which a plumber then fixed for us. I will certainly call Hoang again for any tiling needs.

Prompt quote and excellent scheduling communication. When a rescheduling was necessary, they were very responsive. Arrived with sufficient crew and correct materials to complete the project in 1 day. Provided some value added ideas by testing an area with a non-slip sealer to try to address our concern for the traction of our existing exterior tile walkway. Crew was responsive and the job was begun, checked, and verified by the owner. Very happy with the results.

Called about 11 a.m. for an estimate, and I had this before 5 p.m. the same day. Ricky said that he could do this in 48 hours (which would have been Saturday), but it was my choice to have it done on Monday. He arrived shortly after 9 a.m., and the job was completed by 3 p.m.

They arrived when they said they would. They performed their work efficiently with little if any waisted time. They finished the job very near the time when they said they would.

I have used him several times in the past, and he always does a great job. He is very willing to please his clients, and wants to make sure that his clients feel as though they have gotten a great deal. I have been happy with his work.

I' ve never had such conscientious workers in my home in my life. Hoang Nguyen, the contractor, came over within an hour of my call to give his estimate. The work began the very next day, with final polish and clean-up the following day. Nguyen and his worker arrived exactly when scheduled and his worker kept going (past dark) until the job was completed. I have other bathroom problems due to a previous contractor who installed a heavy claw foot tub backwards (so it wouldn't drain, - duh!) Other contractors apparently didn't want to work behind such idiocy. Mr. Nguyen, however, was highly understanding and came up with a wonderfully creative solution that will cost much less than my original plan of starting all over again. He'll be coming back for that job very soon. I'm enormously impressed with his ideas, his skilled workmen, and particularly his willingness to solve problems related to very old homes.

Hoang did the estimate and described what he would do--some kind of rubberized, flexible grout --not caulk, which we were considering doing ourselves. his crew showed up to do the work, cleaned and stripped the steps and pulled out the old caulk then were about to apply new caulk! after a phone call to hoang, we cleared up the confusion, they were just on a replace what is here mode by that time, but it turned out the crew had the right supplies with them and used the grout. the steps look great. there is a bit of daylight showing through small spot on one step from in the garage, but hoang says he'll come take a look at it.
