Window Installation and Swamp Cooler removal

Very quickly done, and the new fixtures look great. Star was very professional and courteous.

Washer got hooked up, but had to call a plummer after hours because the taps were leaking anyway when the plummer got here he told me that the taps were loose so he tightened them up and leaking stopped, the dryer vent she wrapped in gorilla duct tape she wanted to come back and reroute my whole vent system by cutting a hole in the side of my house. Which was going to cost me more money. So the dryer vent was left with gorilla tape around she told me not to run it while not home it could catch fire. I am a nice person and believe in giving people a chance but when my Brother in Law came over he told me that I had been taken and i know now that I have. Anyway its an expensive lesson learned

I initially spoke with this company regarding a repair on two panes of glass, one in a window and one in a door. The person I spoke with informed me that maybe he wouldn't be repairing the glass in the door, maybe we'd just replace the door. He wanted me to pay him to come to my house and assess the situation and decide on a course of action. I didn't particularly like this idea, so I decided to allow this individual to install some shelving for me instead. I figured this would give me an opportunity to see how he worked, and he could also take a look at the glass without me having to pay him for maybe doing work, maybe not. He agreed with this plan and made sure I agreed to pay him for two hours' work when he came out. After I got off the phone with him, I texted him to ask if he was insured. He told me he was, and he had a business license. Then he told me he was an LLC, and I didn't have to worry about liability. Of course, an LLC means that if he's sued, then his personal assets are protected. It doesn't have anything to do with limiting my liability for any injuries he might sustain on my property. I asked him if he would supply me with proof of insurance. He acted as if I'd asked him for his SSN and his mother's maiden name, and told me he only discloses this information if there is a problem. When there is a problem, of course, is not the time to find out a person doesn't carry insurance or doesn't carry enough insurance. Angie's List states in their FAQ: "You should always verify that the contractor has insurance before working with them. Ask to see a Certificate of Insurance and call to make sure the policy is current and has enough coverage for your project." This company may or may not carry insurance, but if you're concerned about protecting your property and assets, you might want to check for yourself. This gentleman took offense when I asked and advised me to find another contractor for my job. I took his advice. I found a handyman that did carry insurance and charged the same hourly rate as this company. Insurance isn't only for general contractors; any person doing business with the public should have it.
