John is a consummate professional. Sure, I wish he discounted commissions more, but I suppose you get what you pay for. He's always on time, communicates very well, knows all his neighborhoods, isn't pushy at all, and gives sage advice. I do think he's better on the buy-side than on the sell-side, but it worked out well there too.

Response from JOHN FYTEN
Thanks for the kind words! Professionalism is always my goal, and I’m extremely happy to hear that the Member feels I achieved it. Much of our success in selling the Member's home was due to the great attitude he and his wife had, and to their willingness to do the small things that deliver a proportionately larger payoff. Regarding the snafus on the listing side the Member mentions, one was avoidable, one unfortunately not. The first was that the home the Member sold initially appeared on the MLS and listing Web sites without photos because, in my office, an admin enters the listing in the MLS (agents aren't allowed to) but doesn't upload the listing's photos. Since there's some lag time between when the agent submits the information to the admin and when the listing hits the MLS, the agent has to check the MLS periodically until the listing appears. Then he or she manually uploads the photos. Not the best procedure, admittedly, but the delay is minimal, usually an hour or two. The second snafu, missing broker's tour, is what I'd like to call a "team effort" except that the buck has to stop with someone and in this case that's me. I got the information to the admin well before deadline but she didn't post it, and I didn't check back with her until it was five minutes too late. I found out this wasn't the first time she'd slipped up, and a few weeks later she was let go, but I'll acknowledge that I should have confirmed with her well before deadline. However, we had two well-attended open houses and, in a slow market, sold the home the next week with eight offers and above list price, so I have to wonder if the listing Web sites have made broker's tour less important--not that I want to miss tour again.
