Air Duct Professionals

I purchased a Big Deal from Air Duct Professionals to have the air ducts cleaned in our newly purchased house - its an older home and we had no idea if the ducts had ever been cleaned before, so I was looking forward to the peace-of-mind of knowing we'd be breathing clean air. When I contacted the company to schedule the cleaning they seemed a bit unorganized in regard to the Angie's List deal (they couldn't find a record of my order even though I had my confirmation number), but once that was cleared up they were very courteous. The young man who came to clean the ducts arrived on time, and was professional and polite. When the work was done he vacuumed up and debris from the cleaning, moved furniture back into place, and left the house just as he had found it. I was pleased with the service. When we used the AC a few days later (the first time since the cleaning) I found black dust/debris covering the surfaces near several of the duct vents that were cleaned (including my baby's crib, nursing chair, and book stand!). This was disturbing, to say the least, but dissipated after a couple days. In the end, I'm still glad I got the ducts cleaned as I'm guessing they were VERY dirty, but I wish the young man would have tested the vents before leaving so we could have avoided this hassle. (Note to those with small children: air duct cleaning takes quite a while and is very loud, try not to schedule over nap time! This is not a comment on Air Duct Professionals, just a note about the service itself.)

Went great. They came and cleaned the vents, dryer vent and furnace. Runs great now!

.Charles and his assistant were very pleasant and professional. They called ahead of their arrival and were on time. They did not mind talking or explaining the work going on. As stated above, work was thoroughly and efficiently completed. He made sure that everything was picked up and cleaned up in areas where work was done. Overall, it was a very positive experience and I hope that if I need these services again that they will be available.

The gentleman came on time and was very professional. The dryer vent alarm was installed without a problem. The alarm beeps when the vent becomes clogged alerting you to have the vents cleaned.

I was pleased by how quick it went. And the work seemed very thorough. The 2 workers were polite and conscientious. I also appreciated knowing how much pressure was available from the vents.

We have two houses on service schdule, they send over to guys so, it can be done quicker which I like that. Also they very cautious about not to put black hand prints on the wall, very importent to me !!

The company was very knowledgable and cleaned all of my air ducts in about an hour and a half. The worker was friendly and worked quickly.

Worker arrived on time. I showed him all of the registers, and he told me what the price would be. I OKed the price and he got right to work. Work was finished in a reasonable time. I later found that the duct connection from the clothes dryer was not secured tight enough, so I had him come back the next week to fix it. All in all I was satisfied with the job.

Purchased special from Angie's List. Contacted vendor. Scheduled vendor. Vendor shown up on time. Vendor described in details what is to be done & approximately how long and what I needed to do. Job completed without any fanfare.

I actually purchased two big deal coupons at $199 each for my parents, since they haven't had their air ducts cleaned in ages even though they had both furnaces/AC units replaced within the past year. First of all, Ed Mack of Air Duct Professionals immediately got in touch with me in order to schedule the cleaning, and was most courteous and informative when I had some questions. He also called the day before the appointment to re-confirm. The technician Richard (? sorry I wasn't there so can't be sure that's his name) - who happens to be native American - showed up at my parents' house exactly during the two-hour window when he was expected. In fact, he even called while on his way just to let us know that he was indeed coming. My mother says that he was excellent and friendly to boot, and the difference in the air quality was immediately evident after he finished. My parents could not be happier with Air Duct Professionals, and if I had air ducts in my house (which I don't), I'd certainly call them, too. Most highly recommended, period.

My husband found Air Duct Professionals through the Big Deals section. Found their coupon for $199 to clean 10 vents + check furnace + clean dryer vent. Needless to say, when we called them, Ed Mack said Angie's List had screwed up their coupons with another company and their current deal is actually $249 to clean 10 vents + registers + check furnace + sanitize, but to clean the dryer vent will increase the price to $329 (I didn't bother asking why it'd cost $80 to clean dryer vent, our dryer duct is literally 6in max in length). We have 12 vents, Ed said he usually charges $30 per extra vent. I asked him to honor the $199 deal, he said he couldn't, but offered to do the extra 2 vents at $15 each. Ed also said they use a "closed" system so dirt wouldn't get everywhere, I was also very concerned about this because I have a 2 yr old. Scheduling wasn't a problem. When the appt time came, some teenager named Casey (at best 19 or 20) showed up at our door. He was wearing a cap and had pants that sagged. My husband and I were shocked, but he showed up promptly and we figured that as long as he can do the job right, we're fine with his dress code and demeanor. He wasn't all that professional or respectful, but then again, what teenager is these days. First he came in and walked around, we pointed out all the vents to him. He then go to work, removing all the vents. Then he went to get the equipment. He did warn me it has wheels and asked if he can wheel them onto our new wood floor, which I authorized (because how else is he suppose to get it around), but little did I think that he was going to wheel the thing up the stairs instead of pick it up. I offered to help him carry it up after realizing what he was doing to the first 2 steps, to which he responded "It's ok, I can carry it, I would have carried it up the stairs if that's what you wanted me to do." Yes, that's what I wanted because it's new flooring and you wheeling a machine up 10 flights of stairs will damage my floors, mind you they are dark wood and scratches easily seen. He cleaned and did his thing, I was also vacuuming because I'm a germaphobe, which Casey did nicely tell me that he would do at the end after he's done. He deserves this credit, he did vacuum/clean up most of the dust. But what he didn't do was clean the registers, they still had dust on them, all of them. He also didn't sanitize, when I asked him, he said sanitizing is not part of the $249 package, but he was not going to charge us the 2 extra vents because he already said he'd clean them before he checked with Ed. When my husband called Ed about this, Ed then said that they only sanitize when they observe mold/mildew in the vents. Casey also said they usually charge $25 to clean each extra vent, opposed to the $30 that Ed told me. My husband also asked them to send someone back to clean all the air registers as they should have done in the first place, Ed said he had to check with field technician first about what happened then get back to us. Overall, they did an average job. We've had our air ducts cleaned before and what Air Duct Professionals did was an overpriced job of what those companies that offer $69 coupon would have done. Knowing that, would I hire them again? Probably not, unless I want another teenager vacuuming my house for $249.

First of all, I left a message on the number listed on Angie's. I received a call back within 1 hour from the owner of the company. He was extremely nice and explained what the service entailed and scheduled my air duct cleaning at the first available date which was a week later. The team of two men were on time, polite, efficient, thorough and cleaned up after themselves. They cleaned the dryer vent, the furnace and educated me on changing the filter frequently. I will definitely use this company again in 2 years!

See above. Helpful, knowledgeable people. We ended up with new duct work. Would never have known there was asbestos in the attic if Air Duct Professionals hadn't come into our home.

It took quite sometime for them to contact me with a date, when it was finally scheduled the guy called on the day of the appt and said his truck broke down. The second appt he made with me, he called and said he had gotten a new phone and something had happened and he lost all his appts, so sorry would schedule another appt, by this time I was quite worried that this would never happen. Third time is a charm. He came at the appointed time, was very professional and courteous, very nice, did the job well in a timely manner. The electrostatic filter that was mailed to us was the wrong size but when I e-mailed and told them about it they promptly sent another. I would have given them an A, had it not been for the failure to contact for so long and then the appointment screw ups and the wrong size on the electrostatic filter.

It went well. I was concerned that the duct cleaners were unable to do a complete job because a faulty plug prevented the furnace fan from running, which I found out later. I phoned the owner and expressed my concern. He was very approachable and helpful and explained the process to me. He further suggested from my description that the plug was at fault, not the furnace and encouraged me to have an electrician check it for safety sake.

The company took from early October until December to schedule the cleaning. I had hoped to have this done before needing to use the furnace in the colder weather. The workman arrived promptly at the scheduled time. He inspected all the vents and climbed into the attic to see the furnace before starting work. He worked efficiently and cleanly, covering the furniture and other items with plastic sheeting as he moved around the house. And cleaning any dust that escaped. He finished within the estimated time. When he was finished he reported on the condition of the furnace, which is old, but in good shape. He also said there were a couple of gaps in the system and recommended how I could have them fixed.

Absolutely the most useless service ever. Not only did it take money, but my time and having someone crawling around your home.

They were over here. The technician started but within a few minutes we had to have him leave because it was just too noisy. We have a very small house and the walls are very reflective as far as noise. We could have let them do it if we were not home and if the dogs were not here. There was no place in this small house where we could hide from the noise. The company was very nice about it and they told me to call Angie's List for a refund.

First the bad- Was initially tough to schedule because they were overwhelmed by the response to the deal they offered on Angie's List. Also, they were an hour late because they were delayed by the homeowner they visited right before me. To make up for this delay, they cleaned the 11th vent for free (the special offer only included the first 10 vents). Now the good- very friendly, very thorough, and did a very good job. Saw all of the dirt being pulled from the vents and could not believe that my family had been breathing it all in. ALSO WAS VERY CONSCIENTIOUS ABOUT CLEANING UP AFTER HIMSELF.

Guy arrived and was very nice and on time. Removed all Vent covers from Ceilings and Walls. Took approximately 2 hours. Pretty simple service and I have been very happy since the ducts were cleaned my filters are not as dirty. He cleaned up after himself as far as a few spects of dirt from removing vent covers.
