Description of Work: Installed custom built cabinets and counter tops for our kitchen.

Description of Work: We had custom quarter sawn oak cabinets built and installed in our remodeled kitchen.

Description of Work: I used a general contractor out of McKinleyville to have my kitchen remodeled back in 2007. It was per the recommendation of this contractor that I use Cabinets by Andy to come up with a design and subsequent installation. In the beginning, "Andy", the owner of Cabinets by Andy, was soliticious and receptive to providing good customer service and quality cabinets. I was the first client at the time, I was told, to request kitchen cabinets painted white. After the bid was accepted and the contract signed to go forward with the work, the service began to decline. Measurements were done incorrectly, the counter was put in crooked at which point one of company employees suggested if I just placed ornamental decorations along the counter, no one would notice the countertop was crooked. That should have been my first clue. But what really went south was the paint job itself on the cabinets. After about a year and one half, the paint began peeling and cracking. I started calling Andy's office about three years ago to explain that the paint was fracturing and peeling in high traffic areas. I got one excuse after another from Andy and the daughter who also works in the office. Finally, after numerous calls, Andy brought me a small can of the same colored paint I'd chosen for the cabinets so I could touch up the areas peeling. It didn't work. I called again and again, never getting a return call. I've finally given up. In the meantime, the crappy paint job continues to crack, peel and fade in areas showing the seams and flesh of the wood used to construct the cabinets. I would NEVER, EVER recommend or use Cabinets by Andy again. They stink as a company! Once they've been paid, you can bet you won't ever see them again if something goes wrong.

Description of Work: Andy built custom cabinets for our kitchen which we adore. We went to a large home store beforehand that only offered prefab cabinets. The design they did for us would have cost us considerably more and the quality and quantity of the cabinets was much poorer than we were offered by Andy. We are so happy we decided to call Andy for an estimate. We worked with him on developing the plan and he was open to us doing a lot of the prep and demolition work ourselves which saved us quite a bit of money. We have a fairly small home so we didn't have room for an island in the kitchen. I designed a rolling island and Andy built it better than I could have imagined. My husband and I both love our cabinets and we're happy we went with Andy everyday. We highly recommend Cabinets by Andy!
